@ Ziloe Considering the guy seems to be firing a lance type thing, rather than an arrow, I'd say brutal is putting it mildly.

You know, now that I'm looking at a much larger image of it, maybe the war wasn't so bad. After all, some dude managed to carve his name out in flames, on the ground below. ![]()
First of all, that cover is ****** metal.
Second, was there any information on this book before today?
Third, dark secrets of the Grey Wardens? A flashback to the Fourth Blight? GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME!
I think there was something that said they were killed off during the 4th blight, because the war was so brutal that none survived. But I'm sure we'll find out more in this novel about it.
The World of Thedas has a recount of the way the second to last griffon died. Apprently, they were ridiculously high mantenaince and this griffon died of starvation. There are no more details.

Yeah, I remember reading that, though details were scarce. Which is why I think all of it might be a little more clear in this book. I looked up the artist too, he has some really nice stuff.
Also, I could be wrong, but I think this is about the last Griffin, so maybe there's a connection.
