It'd coincide with the old "Dorian is a Tevinter magister" thing from ages ago.
I kind of hope that he's not possessed by a spirit simply because that would be our third spirit possessed mage in as many games. While I'm completely confident that Gaider (he's the character author, right?) would be able to make him unique from both Wynne and Anders (who were both different from each other), it just seems like it might be nice to explore other mage options.
