Uhm, any pictures of this confirmed Ironbull yet?
Since Solas is a completely new character who is not from the survey leak, doesn´t that mean BW might have a whole new character up in their sleeve?
It'as possible. I think the the Warden and Sera are surely in, since they appeared in the GO combat video, but the other two spots migt be someone new.Uhm, any pictures of this confirmed Ironbull yet?

Solas was the Bald Elf Mage that people have been talking about for about 6 months. Not sure when the survey leak came out. We don't have a current picture of Iron Bull available, but fans have been pointing to the Qunari from the trailer screengrab as likely being him.
Again, a little patience is needed here. We'll know more within a few days. ![]()
Oh, I'm sure they have more characters up their sleeve. They have told us that every month they'll release information about one of the new companions. In April (and it isn't a joke) it's supposed to start with Solas. They have already stated that they aren't revealing anymore about Varric or Cassandra since we as players know them already.
Actually we're pretty sure the qunAri in the trailer is Iron Bull, since Matt Rhodes released a concept art of that qunari in his tumblr, named 'Iron Bull'.Solas was the Bald Elf Mage that people have been talking about for about 6 months. I think the concepts released in summer are more recent than the one you posted, though when He appeared in the GI combat video he looked different from all the concepts. This picture is better

That was my suspicion as well. This is going to be a nice change around here to talk about. ![]()
Oh, since I do value your opinion as a lore hound and DA fan, did you catch my little bit of head cannon as Solas' possible origins?
No, I missed. It was in this thread? That was my suspicion as well. This is going to be a nice change around here to talk about.

Thanks for your words about me, by the way.
You're welcome. ![]()
I lost track of which thread I had put this in. This is copied over from the Solas' thread. ![]()
Vivienne strikes me as too picky to sleep with much of anyone. A few have speculated that her implied nature might mean she's not going to be a LI. As far as Solas goes, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a LI. BioWare traditions being what they are, I'm pretty certain of a male elf LI. Since it looks like he's the only elf male in our party, he'll probably be it.
I do agree that Solas and Vivienne are going to clash over the whole Circle collapse issue. He still strikes me as Dalish, either an exile or just never got the writing for some reason. I think he'll be our anti-Circle foil to Vivienne.
Now here comes the theory I mentioned earlier, Elder.
Another theory/fun bit of head cannon: He was Dalish, then caught near Tevinter when he was young and taken from his clan. Raised in the Tevinter Circle, he has a unique perspective on mages as well as elves in Thedas. Hence his mix of human styled clothing and lack of tattoos. I'm sure someone like that might feel differently about the White Divine's stances on mages. ![]()
Would it be churlish of me to be a little peeved by the gender ratio in this presumed party?
If they're all coming out like this, though, it may mean that we could finally have an all-mage party. Though it won't happen for me if Vivienne isn't a love interest... which I might regret because I feel a strange, antagonistic sort of attraction to her.
I agree on the Vivienne-Solas opposition in views, and I agree on Solas being likely to be a LI.You're welcome.

I'd say that there's still chances for another female companions. Don't give upWould it be churlish of me to be a little peeved by the gender ratio in this presumed party?

Hmm, fair enough. I think we've only got the one dubbed "Sara" left to go among the official ladies there. However, I don't think "Mr. Mustache" there is a companion any more than "Scribe girl" was. I'm hoping that there is another female character that we don't know about yet.

DA2 at least managed to eke out four, if you didn't play as a mage, although one thing I've noticed is that there are always external reasons for why female characters aren't LIs: Wynne is old enough to not be that interested (and relatively few players would be, although I personally might have gone for her had she been available), Bethany is related and Aveline is interested in someone else. Which makes me wonder how it'd work for any female characters who aren't LIs in DAI.

As for his origins, it seems very interesting and reasonable. I'd like if it turns out to be true. The only thing that might go against this theory is Gaider saying that Dorian isn't ruled out as a companion/supporting character, and I don't know if Bioware will put two characters that lived and were raised in Tevinter. Dorian might be out though.
Regardless, I like it. Nice work.
Thank you, and thank you for reminding me about Dorian being a potential character. I'm rooting for a Tevinter perspective, and since I was denied Mae, another I guess will have to do. ![]()
I know my idea about a Dalish from Tevinter has all the basis in fact as unicorn hair, but I thought it was a fun idea.
@Xil: That's very true as well. I'll get back to you on the rest of your idea later, it's about sleepy time for me.
Vivienne page was updated on Wiki:
Vivienne was to become the First Enchanter of one of the two Circles of Orlais, either in Montsimmard or in Val Royeaux. However, the Mage-Templar War and the Orlesian Civil War started before she could formally assume the position.
As a ranking mage, Vivienne is a woman of status in the political labyrinth of Orlais. Her rich wardrobe and appreciation of fashion speaks of her station: "the jewel of the high court of Orlais where wealth, power, and beauty are inextricably linked."
Vivienne places fashion above function. Caring more about her outward appearance rather than protection, Vivienne is always found in the finest silks and jewels.
Vivienne was written by Mary Kirby.
According to Mary Kirby, the Orlesian Imperial Court refers to Vivienne as "Madame de Fer" or, loosely translated, "The Iron Lady."
Despite an earlier claim, she does not have a lisp.
According to David Gaider, Vivienne's "fashion touchstone" is Maleficent.
According to Mary Kirby, Vivienne is "allergic to Fereldan fashions," arranges to receive only approved gifts on Wintersend and favors gold encrusted boots made from rare animals, "and possibly the skins of one or two of her political rivals."
When asked to compare Vivienne to food, Mary Kirby described her as "Ortolan Bunting," a notorious French dish.

A shame that it was a problem.

Oh hey look at the time. On my sundial.

Catch you guys later.

You can't romance someone who isn't interested. In any case, it'd do too much damage to Bioware's image and we might lose out on more games from them, which I definitely wouldn't want.

I know and fair-enough, but still a shame.
@ Natashina you really love that gif don't you?

It's been a reflection of my forum ADD as I've been bouncing between about 5 threads.
Don't worry, I'll ease up on the use of it in the future.
Good night. ![]()
We need more info on this guy, the mage who might be a renegade Magister
My inquisitor's future husband. Need more information on him NAO.
I know exactly who's that guy:

Anyone seen Varric's cut lines for DA2? I'd like to see trailers like that implemented.
Also, Varric and Iron Bull need to be LI. We've had human and dwarf LIs, and the dwarf noble warden can take a mistress, but we really haven't had a dwarf LI otherwise, or qunari.
Although the wiki says they nearly hinted at something, with a cut line where Varric would have told Hawke that he told them everything, but "left out the part about us..." Playing through I saw no chemistry between Hawke and the Warden...but Varric is a self-described liar.

I will be so annoyed if the only male LI option is Varric, a DWARF, a Quanari and possibly Bald Elf and Cullen. I rather have more elf/human LIs. And Cullen is dull. Its ME3 all over again. ![]()
And I could never romance Varric. Thats to awkward. He is my bro, man!
