So since new FFs are released on a Friday towards the end of the month, does that mean we have to wait an entire month before we get one?

I'm not counting on it, but someone said they thought anyone at the table had a chance of being revealed. If that is indeed the case, I hope it's Cullen or Scribe Girl. If the NPCs aren't going to get reveals, I want DHMG.

Hogwash.  I've been on these boards for five years.  "Reasonable" and "BSN" almost never goes hand-in-hand.  If they had released it on time there still would've been a slew of complaints and bickering.

If people want to complain then let them complain. It's there right. I myself would call it tough love.

Don't get me wrong I agree 100%.  Even the people who bicker and bash Bioware the most on these boards are often times people who put down their hard earned money to buy games, go to game conferences and in general spread the word about what Bioware is doing.  If they get their jollies off by constantly complaining then by all means God bless them.  I was just saying better communication wouldn't have stopped people from bitching at Bioware on this thread.

I'm not terribly surprised, I didn't expect there to be one today.

 

If I had to guess, I'd say that on months where we have other info things going on (PAX East, E3, PAX Prime...) we won't get a Follower Friday.  On months that we don't have them, maybe we'll get one.

 

They did say that they are not going to reveal all of the companions, and I doubt Varric or Cassandra will get a Follower Friday.

 

So probably May, (June has E3) then July, (August has Pax Prime) and then September (Pax Prime technically is in September too, but very early and we're likely to get info, well, promotion stuff, before launch, wouldn't you think? Meh, maybe).

And then O frabjous day, callooh, callay, it'll be time for Inquisition.

 

Either way once I find if there are going to be more collector's edition stuff and have my pre-order, it'll be time for my DA media blackout.

Let's count... From April to September we have 6 months.

 

9 companions - Viv - Cass - Varric = 6, so either every new companion gets a reveal, or if they stick to this

 

 

Will every follower get featured as part of Follower Friday? No. We're going to leave some mystery for you to discover in the game. Dragon Age: Inquisition comes out this fall!

 

then we have 5 new companions revealed, 1 month for both Varric and Cass, and a mystery follower.

 

Or they could skip the April reveal and reveal only 5 or less companions... For the sake of mystery.

That's the thing. We shouldn't have to guess. It's posted on this thread that a follower would be revealed in April. If they aren't able to do it - then they should say so ahead of time. We shouldn't have to guess. F that. 

 

Yes, I'm aware of that. But, hey, they might not've even know everything they'd be showing this month.  And even if they did, I don't think the devs are trying to upset anyone.

I'm not really bothered that we didn't get FF today, but I do understand people's dissapointment/fustration. I'm content with the box art, release date and super cool trailer we got instead.

Same goes for me as well. With the speculation/articles going on about who is in attendance at the summit, I already know more plot wise than I want to. I'm even starting to think I don't want to know anymore about the companions, now that we've seen them all, until I actually meet them in the game. Mostly because I don't want to develop preconceptions about characters based on what I read here/elsewhere.

I'm personally not upset in the least but I understand why people are.  The entire purpose for Follower Fridays is to get people hyped and coming back to the site.  Well, here we are on Friday wanting to be fed more hype but once again, no fresh hype for us.  They set the expectation and then fail to follow through.  Thing is, this is their typical m.o.  I don't get upset about it because a) I assume they are working hard on other things and there's no point in getting upset about a things expected behavior.  I expect the grass to grow when it rains and I expect game developers to set expectations for things they can't follow through with.

Followers could be anyone in this shot, or so I hope.

i hate being the voice of reason in any way shape or form.  in fact, i prefer to be the guy no one notices, throwing stuff at everyone else.  however, 

a) bioware king of has a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge game coming out, and con be forgiven for not meeting the follow friday date since

the image above came out of the trailer.  see that?  that is 9 potential companions and three extras.  we have something that satiates our thirst for more.  

 

those two reasons above to me say that bioware has exceeded what they promised, hell they delivered it a few days early just so our heads would some blowing up at the awesomeness.

 

would i have loved to learned more about Sera or any one else?  Sure, but I can wait, which will make the reveals so much better.  instead for now we have our fun as speculating, and being pulled in like the lyrium addicts we are.

 

although, reading the past ten pages or so has made me snicker. 

 

so bioware wins twice tonight, regardless of the (so far) lack of reveal.

That's good to hear. Most people aren't upset about the lack of Follower Friday, it's the lack of communication that there wouldn't be a Follower Friday.

I'm pretty happy with the level of response they're giving this now. Seems like they're taking the miscommunication seriously. It's nice to see they're listening to concerns.

I was disappointed, but they cleared the matter up as much as possible in a matter of hours, and I appreciate that. And, given the amount of work they've got right now and the fact that they don't spend all day on the forum, I consider their response pretty damn reasonable. (It's still Friday my time.)
