Well they better not repeat this again. I stayed up till 5 in the bloody morning over here for the FF.
Next time might I recommend sleeping and checking it in the morning instead? Losing sleep is always a nightmare for me.

.@SeeTheFlickers we are revamping our communication plan. FollowerFriday got caught in the crossfire. More info on the game coming soon!
Well. Hopefully they devise a publicly known schedule for FF if they haven't decided to totally scrap it.
From the twitter thread....
Allan Schumacher: "Based on David Hulegarrd's comments, I get the impression that it's something that he does mostly on his own (This is just a guess)"
and then later...
Allan Schumacher: "I know David was also working on the new website, was recently married, and also recently relocated to Edmonton....According to his tweets he also was crunching over Easter Weekend...(evidently the forward facing marketing types also crunch)"
Now I'm obviously just speculating but this tells me that it was just a really unfortunate product of the trailer and other marketing stuff that was either honestly overlooked in the mad rush of a major milestone in their development (launching a website as well as posting a definitive release date) and that he (and potentially his team have been unable to tell us earlier that he/they wouldn't have the FF).
Given his other tweets however I don't think they've scrapped it...and honestly given the reaction I think I'd prefer they not post a schedule and just post in whenever they want, if on Friday great, if not it'll be a nice surprise.
I think they had good a intention. They might have thought that they will be able to release it but realized in the minute that they wont be able to.
Thats what I choose to belive anyway
.
did they mention anyone new yet? no?! okay... i'll comeback later.
(wrong thread somehow? *sigh*)
My frustration over this has always been on the fact that there was no pre-warning. I'm more than willing to accept and forgive extenuating circumstances in the form of various pressure's in the man's life not allowing him time to do this, but I think he should have made time for a simple tweet or forum post of "Sorry guys, no follower this month" before the day.
Oh well. Live and learn. Congrats to Dave for his recent marriage.

I'm just hoping that if they scrap anything, it's the "wait until the end of the month" time table. That was never a good idea.

We should get one next week not wait 30 days.
you guys need to stop whining, they literally gave us a trailer AND a new website that consists of a large info dump. And considering that both of those were released the week follower friday would have been released on, I'm assuming that's to make up for this month's "follower friday". We should be glad the devs even give us any info at all. Look at Final Fantasy XV and KHIII for example.
I don't think the problem is that they didn't give enough, but the fact that the pointlessly committed to something that they couldn't even keep up for 1 lousy month. Not only that, the total lack of information regarding FF qualifies this as a fail. They could've just said: "Oh hey guys, we decided to skip April because of the huge infodump, but stay tuned for May" or something like that, so people wouldn't be around here all pumped waiting for more info. I mean this is their official forums with their official thread. It isn't quantum science to give an update.

The issue isn't "we didn't get enough information, we want more, more, more!" The issue is that we were told something was going to happen on a consistent basis and that didn't happen, and we were just left hanging.
I don't think anyone is ungrateful for the trailer and the website and the interviews that have come out in magazines this past week. I'm certainly not unappreciative of this. But when you say you're going to do something every month, I think the fans have a reasonable expectation that you're going to live up to your word. The deal was "a new follower every month", not "a new follower every month, except on when the week we should post info about a follower, we have a big info dump in other areas."
We had no reason to believe that the trailer and website meant we weren't getting a follower friday reveal, and we should have been told.

Well said chief.
Im happy with the trailer, if we get more info thats great, if not .... Well I paid the game off day 1 of the release announcement trailer
A new follower would be sick, be anything new (and this is just my humble opinion) is Awesome ![]()
More to the point, yesterday had been a Follower Friday, the only thing we would have gotten was a name and a screen shot. There wouldn't have been any other info dump that day. Any and all info would have been forth coming this following week.
So I think there's a feeling that it wouldn't have been too much trouble to do that on top of everything else.
That being said, I can accept that there is more work that goes into it than that, with David likely mapping out what was to come the next week and coordinating with the companion writers. I can accept that he got caught up in the various things going on in both his personal and professional life.
But a little heads up would have been nice.

Hope the next follower in may is not solus. Something diffrent like sera or warden
It is not good to ignore the schedule without even an explanation.
I am not pissed that we didn't get some info about a follower (We did get, after all, a lot of information), I am more pissed at the fact that they kept us in the dark for so long.

tbh its silly to think/act like being really grateful and excited about the recent info cannot coexist with feeling disappointed with no ff or the communication issues with ff. some people are acting like theyre mutually exclusive. they arent
Ugh, this entire thread is people just going

I'm not talking just one viewpoint. The exact same opinions are being voiced with the exact same counters. It's like whackamole.
