Well, now I'm really getting excited as well... And I know that I'll probably start a huge discussion with this, but I'm not sure if I really 'like' Vivienne... I mean, the last Bioware persona that was nicknamed 'Iron Lady' was Meredith and she was a nutso... Not that it was her fault precisely, that's not what I mean... Of course, I'll reserve judgement on her, until I've played the game, for now, its just a feeling of mine and I don't think anybody can argue with that (or at least I hope so )
 
... And I think I'm going to shut up now, before I get nailed to the nearest tree^^
 
I do like the concept of 'Follower Fridays' and I'll be checking regularly to see if there is new info^^ I like to know something about my future companions *gg* Also, I like the fact that not everyone of them will be revealed, that gives a nice element of surprise... And I like surprises *squeal*

I love vivienne, but being called Iron Lady made me squirm. Not only has it been done before, but it has a load of connotations that make me uneasy, Iron Lady makes me think of Margret Thatcher, it has been her title fairly often. I just thought of Vivienne going from regal and commanding, to immediately believing she was a bad guy. Of course, I changed that opinion quickly, but still, any other cool title would have been neat, but Iron lady has so many connotations that not everyone shares.

Any other title would have been better. Or no title. I guess it shows her strength, but it feels more like advertising a complete inability, especially considering Meredith shared the same title.

My favourite ones are the middle two ones of the top row.  I find the dress on the bottom row a bit gaudy and tiring on the eyes.  The right hand mask is bit Venetian for me, although BW may well be taking inspiration from Renaissance Italy for Orlais.

 

Regarding the close up images we have of Viv, I'm amazed at how well black characters are done.  In DAO in particular, any attempt at a black or coloured person ended up looking like a Caucasian that was left in the oven for too long.  I think the lips might be a bit too big and something about the shape of the nose doesn't sit right, but other than that it's amazing.

I agree... Never would have guessed that she's bald... With outfits like that, I kind of thought that she had some gaudy hairstyle that was hidden beneath those hats *gg* But then again, bald women often look tougher, both in videogames as well as in movies... Especially Natalie Portman in 'V for Vendetta' is a good example, she looks incredibly tough while still very feminine. Vivienne pulls that look as well.

 

But I too wonder if its just a design decision or if its somehow explained as part of her personality... Anyway, clothing design looks amazing, even though I've never had a thing for the gaudy stuff^^ But on her, it fits...

I'm excited to see how Vivienne will be in-game, I'll hold off judgement on her for now, but I do like her design (and clothes, even though I wouldn't be caught dead in it) and I am convinced her banter with the other companions (especially Cassandra and Solas) is gonna be hilarious.

 

Although now we already have two bald (or almost bald) companion characters. And Iron Bull looks pretty bald to me as well. I'd like to know how that came to be, considering it's not a very common design feature, especially for prominent characters.

They stated that the Follower Friday (the day they announce the companion to be featured) will be near the end of the month.
