I bought Dragon Age Origins a few years back and got into the game, however, since then my game disks have become faulty and I had a new hard drive fitted.  Does anyone know if the saved games are kept linked with my account, at least partially on some sort of cloud server?

I ask because I've bought Origins Ultimate Edition on Steam and wondered if I would have to start way back at the beginning or if I could resume from where I was the last time?

Thanks for any info

If you bought it on steam it might be there. I don't know if steam stores it the way it stored skyrim. I think this game stores on our drives rather than steams.

Your regular game saves are on your harddrive. I put mine on CD so I can always have them if needed.

As far as Steam goes, I think it registers your progress, but does not store your game saves.

Well, I had the same problem : hard disk broke and all my saves were lost for Dragon Age 2 (I have a physical copy). Talking about Steam, it actually keeps your saves if you play online it synchronizes them with the cloud when leaving a game (whatever game) so, as Starlitegirlx said it should be there.

Nota : Once had a pb with a game on Steam (Wizardry 8) and wanted to check with a friend if it was due to my computer or the licence itself. So, I connected to my Steam account on her PC and Steam asked if I wanted to synchronize my saves on this new device. I said yes and when I left my friend's Pc she returned to her own Steam account and found all my saves had replaced hers (because they were written into her disk)... By chance we had made a copy before doing the test! When using Steam the savegames are located on your hard drive and in addition Steam makes a vitual copy of them.

Of course, seing the date of the initial post, I'm sure this topic is closed but I wanted to let people know of my experience.
