ME1 had great armor and weapon customization from a modification standpoint. I do like the sectional armor pieces from ME2 onwards though. So I would like to see a mix.

Same for the weapons, I would like to mod their characteristics but keep their ammo type a separate mod and not a power. I think, if you balance the mods to the point that they have strengths and weaknesses, a gun could have numerous mods without being either OP or outclassed.

Can we please move back to a physics based Biotic talents? Biotic explosions are cool and all but not everywhere and only them. Granted this will mean there needs to be a change to how resistances are handled. By the time something is at health you might as well just keep shooting.

I like how there are split evolutions for powers. Those should stay. Much better than the linear direct upgrade from ME1.

Armor, the yellow health bar, shouldn't do so many damn things.

For MP, drop the RNG. Let me decide what I want to buy, upgrade, sell and/or trade. Also, a character creator system.

The weight and weapon system in ME3 was great. Lets keep that around but don't shove everything into the AR category. Hell, if you need to, make a separate category called "unique" or "special" if you have to.

I have quiet a few ideas for ME4.

Starting out, instead of a cannon opening, let's throw back some info on the Trilogy and allow us as the users interact with the opening with something like them asking if we know of the Legacy of Shepard & Co to allow us certain universe forming questions or even a save import which would look at our major decisions/achievements within that save.

IE

Ending used & how it'd possibly shape the universe we'd see.

-- if defy ending used all known species extinct except the Yahg & have the Yahg either the primary enemy or fighting to get in as a member race in the Citadel.

Quarians Saved

Geth Saved

Both Saved & Co-operating

Status on Rachni

Status on Genophage

Status of Earth from the ending (EMS level influenced)

All crew members alive at the end of ME3 "including past ones" -- have them hailed as legends with statues at their home worlds or Citadel including Admiral Anderson

Depending on war resources picked up before the end battle -- Races that went extinct / are now thriving / or barely holding on now depending on how far past ME3 we're picking up at. -- Can also be influenced by items above

One thing I would love to see

World influence -- such as like a colonization type interface allowing you to sculpt a planet, both accessible in game & via mobile platforms such as phones/tablets/consoles/etc.  So say I start my game on the PC, be able to connect to it and influence it from an Xbox One, PS4, Android, Apple product, etc, with all platforms able to access a single cloud save & interact on it.

Plot wise :) I trust them but have a few ideas

An advanced civilization is going through what went through on the ME Trilogy and after hearing the heroic exploits of our Galaxy they crossed the void between Galaxies for help before it's too late.

The Yahg become more troublesome than the Krogan during the Krogan Rebellion

The reapers become a more permanent fixture in the galaxy "if destroy wasn't selected" and no longer bound by cycle have them trying to reclaim systems to resurrect the races they each represent, or open relays that bring on dangers beyond their control in their weakened state.

The Rachni "if they survived" trying to gain a place on the Citadel and causing trouble while trying to colonize new worlds.

The "Keepers" starting to shrug off the controls of the Reapers and starting to show their own culture on the Citadel.

More thoughts to come, lol I have a ton of them.

I would love to see actual upgrades happen to your crew when u gain they're loyalty. Such a Grunt. He starts off as a krogan soldier then once you do his loyalty mission he becomes a warlord. Give them a different set of armor instead of a different paint job as well as different abilities to fit they're new status.

My Quest for ME4

1. Will we ba able to import ME3 saved?

2. Will you have a Collectors Edition?

3. Will there be a Multiplayer similar to ME3?

4. Will we be able to Mod weapons.

5. Give access for Beta testing and have an area in the forum like you do for SWTOR.

I believe Bioware should first make a prequel before moving on to a new story. I'm sure everyone would like to see the first contact war, the rachni wars, krogan rebellions etc especially if you can play as a turian or a krogan. If they make a total different story, I would like to be able to play as a different race with their own unique weapons e.g. a krogan with very powerful shotguns only they can carry or a drell with a very powerful pistol that is not available to other races. Also, especially in multi player, we should have the option to choose our own powers for a character so they are fully customisable. This way Bioware won't have to create so many different characters , maybe only one of each race with a group of powers we can choose for them to use like a dreII with barrier , reave & throw! Give freedom to the player!

We all know that Shepard is dead.... we have to deal with it (personally I think killing main hero + whole universe was grim decision) But also we all know  that Shepard was romantically involved with some partners (I have found that part of the game as one of the best side of it).

Well....... ME4 If it is not total spin off and happens some years after ME-ME3 events. It should use some outcomes of Shepard “achievements” from that disgraceful ME3 ending.... We should play character that is offspring of Shepard's and his crewmates romantic actions. That would connect possible ME4 with ME3 and somehow calm our grief after Shepard's death.

What I'm looking for in ME4 is that it should return to ME1 legacy that was the best part of whole trilogy emphasizing adventure, mystery, romance and open world to discover.

I'd like to see the ammo type become an attachment instead of a power as well.

I'd like to see the game be less about a war though, one of the better scenes for me was the Liara apartment scene from the Shadow Broker DLC, so I wouldn't mind seeing a game that perhaps was more detective based.

Biggest thing for me?

Playable non-humanoid aliens, and non-humanoid aliens as squad mates.

It always annoyed me that the selection of races for the MP was basically re-skinned humans. Everybody, had to carry at least one gun. All characters had to walk upright. Etc. I know that the team was restricted to using a humanoid skeleton to build the various kits off of, and I applause them for their ingenuity, but for ME:Next, I would like to see non-humanoid characters as playable options.

A perfect example would be the Rachni, I want to play as a melee focused, space bug. When I say melee focused, I don't mean a character that carries a huge hammer around, but still has to bring at least a pistol to battle; I am talking about an alien kit that doesn't use guns period. I want to skitter across the field of battle, pitting my natural armor, claws, and acidic spit against the technology of my enemies.

more customizable classes. Let me pick and choose my moves from a pool that would include all the new moves they introduced for the multiplayer classes (no I can't just mod them into single player, I play on PS3. Unless that has changed recently, *said with a hopeful look in my eyes*).

Playing the leader of a group of outlaws, pirates or smugglers would be cool. A group of renegades on the run from the forces of law and justice who steal some device that could change the future of the galaxy or some such.

-I would like the developers to add space combat with customisable fighters.

-giving the ability to play the story from different viewpoints like an outlaw getting sucked into the events and trying to find a way out or gaining profit from it.

-a bit more scifi-like weapons - not just the standart rifles (i really like railguns).

-a deeper RPG-system. Let's be frank, since ME1 the series went way more action than RPG. I really wish classes and skills get more weight... like techs being able to hack certain systems in their surrounding (inside combat he could for example hack the sprinkler which goes off and causes a curcuit with enemy shields).

-adding more variety in sub-quests... like the surveilance--mission from Thane in ME2 or the taxi-pursuit form the shadowbroker-dlc.

-and please more epic bossfights (I really hoped, i could deliver the final blow to Harbinger myself in ME3).

-exploring the galaxy more deeper.

-more personalised companion-missions (i really thoughts it's sad, that there were no missions from companions according to their backgrounds... like searching alien.ruins with liara - since she's a xeno-archeologist - ,going for heists with kasumi or bounty-hunting with garrus or Wrex).

That would be thhings i'm really looking forward to.

Some good points OP. I've always thought it was stupid that biotics didn't affect armored targets. I can accept shields/barriers being able to absorb a limited amount of biotic energy but why should a bit of metal plating stop throw from putting a merc on his a**?

Only thing I would disagree with is ME1 having the best weapon and armor customization. Yes there were lots of types of weapons and armor and a heap of different mods, each with upgrades, but 90% of them were redundant. ME2 only had a handful of weapons and armors but most of them could be useful. ME3 got the variety of weapons, armor and mods pretty much right. It just lacked squaddie armor.

I already posted this in another (wrong) thread, but

I really liked the fluid change of combat zone to (relative peacefull) interaction with NPCs and back (or the other way around) ME1 had -like on Feros.

ME2 is missing this, ME3 would have been nearly there sometimes (i.e. on Menae), if we could holster our weapons.

My Idea

1. Different Realities

2. We are Reality PRIME, others would be X, Y, Z

3. A New Spaceship able to Traverse these Realities

4. No Connections to ME TRILOGY

5. No Shepard, No Anything from Trilogy or PREVIOUS CHARACTERS

6. SPACE COMBAT Done like Halo Reach

7. New Enemies replacing the Geth, Reapers, Collectors

8. New Galaxies, Planets Locations such as Underwater, Forest, Swamps

I am working on some new Enemies called The Watchers, they are the Guardians of these Realities, they are each assigned a Reality such as ours called Reality Prime to make sure all Runs Smoothly.

I also made a new Organization called The Shadow Guard Corporation. They are like Ceberus only More ADVANCED they are in League with THE WATCHERS.

Would call this Mass Effect - Rising DARKNESS

Aw really? What's up wth some guys and prequels?

Geez, we know what happened before ME1. It was included in the Codex, there are novels and wiki-pages... so why hash and rehash the same old story?

I prefer to see something new, never added and unseen in this franchise.

I'm one of those that certainly doesn't mind prequels.  I'm very interested in Mass Effect's lore, so I wouldn't mind living some of the finer details myself, even though the broader paint strokes have already been... stroked.

I wouldn't mind a game taking place DURING the First Contact War, but I don't know how much we could get out of that.

What I'd really like is to build my own super secret squad to do missions for the betterment of my selected race.  Imagine selecting your race and then your affiliated group (Human-N7 or Cerberus, Turian-Blackwatch, Salarian-STG, Asari-Commando, Batarian-Pirates(?), Quarian-Marines, Krogan-Aralakh Company(?), any race-C-Sec... you get the idea).  Each race has certain classes to choose and upgrade.

Maybe each character would have to start in C-Sec, or you could choose to join at some point to help with a few missions that affect your race's ambassador.  Each race and path earns certain military and tech advantages/perks.  Eventually you could be offered a position as a Spectre once your squad reaches a certain level.

Choose your ship, customize it, upgrade it.  Have SEVERAL choices for recruits to be in your squad, but limit how many you can actually have in your squad so deciding to recruit someone is a big deal.  Use squad members on missions to upgrade their skills.

I can imagine this fitting in to the Mass Effect universe between ME2 and ME3 while Commander Sheppard is being held on Earth, but that doesn't leave a lot of time (only six months).  This timeline allows us to use all the races and technologies we know already know, and opens up a deep Batarian story line following the destruction of the Alpha Relay.  This game's final mission has you responding to a distress call in the Vular System where the Reapers first arrived to start the destruction and harvest of our cycle.  You fight a losing battle, and as you and your squad start to fall, you hear calls over the radio saying, "Shepard was right." or "We should've listened to Shepard." or "We should've been ready." or "Contact Earth, tell them to warm up the SR2, and tell Shepard to stretch."  Something along those lines.

Either that, or in Captain Anderson's time, just before Commander Sheppard comes into his prime.  This timeline could offer more politically oriented missions, what with the upstart humans trying to make a name for themselves.  Batarians and Turians would certainly have black bag operations that directly undermine or just straight sabotage the Alliance.  The epilogue for this game could be a mission to respond to an Alliance S.O.S. where you jump to Elysium to help hold off the Skillian Blitz.  At the end of the mission you break through the enemy lines and find a young Shepard.  He's down where he had been firing from cover, and you reach out your hand and help him to his feet. You look around and see the work he's been doing and say something like, "We could use someone like you on our squad."  And this leads to Nihlus and Captain Anderson saying, "No, we have other things in mind for Shepard."  Ok, now I'm in complete fantasy mode.  Sorry.

Hello, my suggestion for ME4 is that it need more complex skill tree than previous 2 ME games. Of all three ME games the most fun with leveling up I had with ME1. I really liked how it had so many skills to choose from and it gave me a sense of real progression. And I liked the inventory, and upgrading weapons with different bullet mods, and that armors had three types - light, medium, heavy. And as much as I love ME2 I really missed those features and ME2 leveling up system felt poor and almost nonexistent compared to ME1. ME1 leveling up system wasn't too complex. It was the third rpg game I played in my life and it wasn't too hard to understand how things work (and my iq is at best average). It never felt inaccessible to me, I just had to read the instructions and pay attention to what I do. I don't understand why were these things so simplified in next ME titles. ME3 was almost like ME2 in this area - some weapon mods from ME1(like incineration etc) were turned into skills, most skills and abilities dissapeared from a skill tree, and ability to mod your gun with bullet types were gone too. For me it wasn't an improvent, because when I was leveling up I lost a lot of that sense of learning new abilites I had with ME1. My sugesstion for ME4 is to make leveling up more like ME1 - more skills [like abilities to use armor types (light, medium, heavy) weapon types abilities, medical abilities that help you heal youself and team better, technical abilities etc.], and make incineration, freezing, distrupting, amor piercing into bullet types to mod weapons as it was in the beginning.

Best example of my list - Citadel DLC.

Aw, really? I always felt like this dlc was kinda fanboy-fodder. Yes, some nice flashback-moments but in general a bit uninspired and unoriginal with this clone- gone-bad-story.

I hunger for a bit more variety in gameplay and more Rpg-elements.

And i wished the develpers would add a bit more content we've never see before.

ME3 felt to me like: Different but still the same. No new features (except MP - which i don't like), no new, fresh ideas, no real step up.

For story: I hope it's not again this cliche "save the galaxy" storyline, but something different. Like being  part of an expedition... or helping the Batarians to find a new world to settle... or hell, playing a smuggler who gets to be hunted by the whole galaxy after a job went wrong and he has to clear things.

And i hope, the main character will not again be some kind of "Marine"-guy. Shepard felt already  a bit to much like a Master-chief wannabe to me.

If I had to pick DLCs to get the idea of the Next Mass Effect, I'd pick Leviathan and Omega. Unique environments, investigation, challenging and fun combat, class-specific interrupts,  interesting characters, not human-centric.

I would like more RPG elements return also, I liked the research and upgrades that ME2 had but the concept needs to be expanded on also. The armor system I would like to see it a have different variety of armor styles, but you can customize a particular set were you craft mod, chips, processor, and can insert them into your favorite armor like N7 armor and it be the best armor as long as you keep it upgraded. The mining of materials needs to come back as well but add variety of how you can obtain those materials send a reconnaissance missions for element zero for example.

Classes I like to see the return of specialized classes from ME1 but also expanded on were it really make a noticeable difference on game play. They should also include sub specialization spec were you chose have to level separate from classes and its used as you are exploring find a computer for example, you or a squad member have high enough in electronics/hacking can either get a codex or tech research upgrades. I think this feature should be were the computer for example shouldn't have an icon were it odvious you click on it you should have to go next to it use electronic skill it may not having anything of value but the next one you check might change the fate of the mission some examples chosen at character creation.

Specialize traits:
-Shield Expert
-Electronic Expert
-Medical Expert
-Decryption Expert

Also I liked ME1 were if you completed game with a certain squad member at new game plus you can chose an extra ability this to could be an extra for expert trait also.
