I'm using the Reegar on him atm. It's just so boring to use.

What else is a good weapon for him? I was just thinking of making him a Soldier, skip Biotic Charge, and give him an Assault Rifle.

Serious reply, I had the exact same setup you have, no charge (it just feels dumb on a volus) and reegar. It's kinda boring indeed, but I just don't see much else in the way of making this guy fun to play (without it being stupid like the above example).

 

EDIT: Ok, misread, you had the reegar with charge. =P

 

But seriously, I dunno, the mini-typhoon is kinda cute on him.

Doctors without borders.  I do, in all seriousness, play him with the batglove.  He's also the only character that I actually try to get a 200% cooldown on (in conjunction with the boost the orbs give I mean).  I almost never cast his orbs once I have them on.  I zip in, nutpunch whatever just took out your shields, shieldboost you and zip away again. I think I'm running him with the raider but I so rarely host that I don't play my vanguards often. 

 

I've also run him tech burst style with disruptor or incendiary ammo and charge/orbs for bursts.

lol. Even with orbs you're looking at a 10-15 second CD on SB. Hardly comparable to the nut puncher.

Charge, shoot, Defensive Stance, shoot. Repeat, and shield boost/cloak as necessary. I've been using him with the HurrDurr, but I guess you could use the Talon or Venom.

Orbs - damage damage expose
Charge - radius weapon bonus
Boost - radius recharge protection
Passives - weapon power weapon

Need rank five power damage for 1k N of force IIRC.
Take a Piranha, choke and caliber barrel, Barrage gear and Efficiency mod. AP4 with SGamp3. Have host for best results. Orb, Charge, kill.

I would also say typhoon, next favorite is the raider on him.  with your connection, I'd wager you get 3-4 shots per charge.

Acolyte /Hurricane* + Incendiary Ammo. 6/6/6/6/0 bulid. Just charge & FE everything.

 

Optional - Venom/Raider/Arc Pistol only.

When I play him, I either go Shotgun/Omniblade/Batglove, full melee & skip passives; or I go no fitness, full power damage, spec orbs for expose, bonus power on charge, Incendiary for FEs. I admit I don't play him much but when I do it's pretty fun.
