Will they play a part?

I was going through reading about Cassandra and remembering the DA animated movie *shudder*.  While Cassandra is a very deep character, I found myself wondering about her old companion from that movie, Regalyan D'Marcall.  Cassandra HATED mages before meeting him and he in a way curved her way of think about mages.  Before the movie ended, he was made an enchanter.  So ten/twenty years later, with Cassandra playing a part in the inquisition.  Mages and Templars going nuts.  I sort of wonder if D'Marcall will have a part to play in this inquisition as well?  By now, if he's not a first enchanter, or was, he's up there if he's still in the Circle at all.  If he is, will he have a role in trying to calm things in Orlais and beyond?  But from the film, he did have some reasons to fight them.  DId his feelings (and likely failed relationship) with Cassandra turn him one way or another and how would this play on Cassandra and those around her?

The other is Feynriel.  No matter what you did to him in DA2 (outside of outright killing him), he's a kind of fiery element in the DA universe.  Dreamers are judged as dangerous by everybody and I can't help think that apostates or blood mages would want to use that for their advantage.  Even if you made him tranquil, there's apparently a way to undo it (not saying how on purpose).  Would he still be a dreamer after that?  Could he be possessed by some greater demon and run amok?  I mean, he can kill you in a dream.  Perhaps an attempt on Templars is made or maybe the Inquisitor him/her-self.

Anyway, I thought these two people might make an impact on DA:I's story in someway, though they were minor/support characters in previous forms.  Maybe someone out there agrees or perhaps not.  Maybe someone can think of another character that might play a decent size/big role (outside of Sandal) that wasn't a major player.  What do you guys think?

I spend a great deal of time pretending Dawn of the Seeker never happened, so I hope not.

As for Feynriel, he was interesting. It'd be nice to see him again.

I've finally added DotS to my Quickflix queue. Figured it was about time. I had the same reluctance with Paragon Lost, but it was... okay.

I liked Dawn of the Seeker. However I agree it would be interesting to see Regalyan again.

Regalyan may be mentioned when dealing with Cassandra's past and her opinion of mages. It's too much of an influence not to adress him, but he could well be dead by this time, thus solving any possible conflict.

Cassandra: "Yes, he was nice. Then a blood mage killed him!"

Inquisitor: "Oh, come on, you must be kidding me! Now you'll tell me a blood mage killed your dog too."

Cassandra: "It wasn't a dog. The blood mage killed my cat!"

Inquisitor: "Nevermind".

Jokes aside, it's much easier for Bioware to cut off the branches. The same can be said of Feynriel, with the aggravating factor that his destiny can be very different depending on player's choices. I do expect to hear of him, though, but only in a cameo or a minor role, like the different references in Mass Effect 3, not in a big role.

In fact, I think it would be easier to bring Regalyan back. Him having a story with Cassandra and the character drama that can come from that are juicy enough, perhaps for Inquisition's equivalent of a "loyalty mission". However, since he's a secondary character from an ancillary product, I doubt it.

1) Cassandra is not very deep. She's a extremely shallow character in the movie, which is a darn shame because she seems badass. I hope they seriously redeem her in DA:I.

2) I don't think Feynriel will play a large role since we are getting this Bald Elf mage instead, I'm still on the fence whether or not a coming Dragon Age game will feature him as a companion, but provided that we do go to Tevinter in the next game, maybe.
