Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember that area being quite small, actually.

Well it is certainly not huge in any way, but I recall it being one of the bigger areas in Origins and considering all the contents that were in this particular area made it very explorable.

Still, three times the size of this maps makes it pretty big.

I honestly think if the PC will have some kind of Fade manipulation ability, it'll be based on what happens in the prologue, and why we lead the Inquisition.

How would they justify Warriors and Rogues having this ability, tough?

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be a mage-like ability, does it?

Maybe they wont? With my noob German I did not find any information regarding who will have that ability. So maybe only mages might possess that ability.

I suspected we would have some kind of special powers ever since the first big info release where it said we would be the only survivors of a fade tear opening. We'll most likely have our new ability over the veil thanks to that.

Only the Inquisitor can do it, so it'll have to be the PC.

Which is only natural as most players want to feel like demigods when they play video games, it seems. Heh.

Don't know. I'm just saying that it'll be related to the prologue Fade event if everyone has this kind of ability. It can still be a mage-exclusive ability.
Technically non-mages can form pacts with spirit, based on SW spec. Non mages still can have some magical, spirit-based abilities.

May I ask if you have a link to the article. With my native German, maybe I can help ^^

^ Yes, there has to be some reason why the Inquisitor is so special, regardless of their class or race - and it has something to do with the events at the start of the game.

That means thAt only mages have this ability, and the article doesn't specify that.

Or, its not a mage power...

Maybe it's a song we play on our Inquisition-branded ocarina.

I think you and everyone else should at least consider the possibility that Bioware will just give them random faces. I know a lot of people won't like this, but everything else is just very complicated.

....Bucket on a head is still a better option....I think..

No, really. As much as I'm terrified with the very idea of possible 'canonizing' Warden&Hawke, I'm curious whether devs can pull it off.

We know that they're aware how touchy that subject is, so they, probably, had found some ultimate solution.

...or at least that's what I keep telling myself...

It'll be interesting to see "magic rogues" as it will be the first time.

The map/troop allocation idea has my attention. I do like me some RTS elements.

Yeah, suspecting this might be the case. The Inq somehow got affected by the Fade which gave this powers to possibly influence demons and close Veils.

Still, would be a bit more intriguing if a mage was the only one able to fully control these powers, while Warriors and Rogues have a more complicated time with it.

I know. That's why I stated that the article didn't specify how it works.
Though I might've misread the used I quoted.

Ok, I already saw that. But it's just a summary, I was hoping someone might have a link to the whole article. If I had to guess though, I would say this is no mage-specific talent. Makes no sense otherwise.

You see we can interact with the veil because we found an ancient artifact that contained information and a message from a long dead civilization. But the artifact was damaged and ended up exploding, and now we got to find another beacon before saren finds the conduit and uses it to sabotage the citadel.

Hmm, not a bad idea.

That way all classes can have the "Fade power" but by being a mage will give some perks both narratively and gameplay wise.

archer-rogueHawke used to perform bloodmagic rituals....with her BOW...

Hopefully, this time it would make more sense, than that part of the 'Legacy'.

So far, only mages have had the ability to interact with the Fade outside of it.

Personally, I'd rather the Inquisitor not have any special abilities; I liked how DAO made it a point that the Warden is not the Chosen One.

But I suppose that cat is out of the bag, especially after concept art of a Keep that had as subtitles "Not lost. Just wild and untamed, like this power of yours". Or something close to that.
