I wanted to be able to DM a campaign for some friends, I can get use the NWServer and we can get on as players with direct connect just fine, but when I try to log on as a DM (I've set a password) and put in the password correctly - Its tells me Password Incorrect. If there is no Password I get instead "Dungeon Master connection refused".

How can I log on as a DM successfully? What am I doing wrong?

Do you use Simtools or something similar that requires you to write in your CD key in a script?

I'm using Neverlauncher & Using the gog.com version of the game - Other than that, no mods; unless playing on PW's installed overrides or something that I'm not aware of.

Alright, I don't know about Neverlauncher. But there might be a script in your module that requires your CD key, for security measures.

Try this: Go into the toolset --> Edit --> Module Properties --> Events and remove all entries there (make sure to make a copy first of your module).

Log in as a DM and see if the problem remains

are you hosting the module on your own machine?

if so, did you try to connect to the local host?

Since no one pointed this out, I'll chime in. When you download the GOG version of the game, it comes with a generic set of CD keys. This is bad because if your CD key conflicts with another CD key (i.e you both have the exact same key) you will not be able to connect. You need to request a set of CD keys for multi player from GOG themselves.

Your DM Pallet may have exceeded it's limit.

Are you trying to connect through a router? Have you configured your router to open ALL the ports NWN uses?

I had similar issues using NeverRun initially, but resolved them. I just downloaded NeverLauncher and now have the same issues as the OP. Strange. My nwnplayer.ini has the correct password set. Changing the password from the login screen has no positive effect. I can't seem to find any options within NeverLauncher to set a DM password either (I'd failed to do so when using NeverRun, which was the issue with that one). Connecting using the standard NWN Game Launcher still works as well.
