What if that was BioWare trolling us with a mount reveal... Except we didn't notice it because the scale was thrown off by the giant?

Okay.

And I hadn't said they wouldn't add anything to the game for anyone. I had said I don't think they don't add to it. I was always just giving my own opinion.

I am happy to agree on disagreeing and might change my opinion once I get to know what BioWare has in mind for them, how they are introduced, implemented and used throughout the story and world.

The thing I take offense to however is when people somehow inteprete a post in a way that makes them think I had just universally denounced something (this wasn't you, but a couple others here that somehow felt the need to ridicule my opinion (Maria Caliban and upsettingshorts for example) or outright insult me (Thunderfox)), when all I did was give my own personal opinion. I don't even understand why they'd think I would voice anything else but a simply opinion, one that is completely subjective and thus open to ignore, disagree or civily argue with (the latter of which you are doing, which is also the reason why I am explaining myself to you).

My comment about arrogance was more a general statement, than personally directed at you. But I apologize for any offense I caused.

That said I still vehemently disagree with your (seeming) opinion that if something hasn't been shown in the Parts of Ferelden or Kirkwall we've been to, then it doesn't need to exist anywhere in Thedas.

Then you are welcome to disagree.

I just happen to be a minimalist. In my opinion, additions just dilute the whole if they aren't meaningful. Obviously we don't know much about those giants aside from them being in the game as enemies and tossing rocks and like I had said, my opinion might change once we know a bit more about the whole deal, but until then I can only work with what I have, which is me not feeling like I needed giants, hence my statement.

We've been to two places in the game world...  That's like visiting London and Paris and then not believing in kangaroos because you'd never seen them...

..Which actually happened.  The kangaroo was considered a myth by Europeans until 1770.

Very well said.

Actually, that analogy is wrong.

I'm not believing there are no giants. I'm saying I don't believe we need giants.

Now the analogue question would not be "are there kangaroos?", but: "do we need kangaroos?".

Do we need elephants, rabbits, lions, tigers, bears? No but they without a doubt add depth to the world and its variety of landscapes. Not trying to argue but, saying there isnt a definite need for something, doesnt justify taking it away completely

...I still think its a troll, but anyway.

I don't think having these things is an issue if they are restricted to a remote geographical area. Sort of like the wyverns and those gremlin things whose-name-I-can't-remember in MotA.

I want them to stay rare.

I put giant just because there seems to be confusion among the devs about what they are, plus seeing the screenshot made me realize how big they really are, so giant seemed fit

You could make a coat out of that troll's pubic hair.

Oh... Maker...  I didn't even notice the shag carpet until you pointed it out!  Speaking of carpet... if the floors of my keep are a bit too chilly, I might have to use it as a rug.  Bear skin rugs are so last Age.

They might be. I'm just used to seeing the word giant as a byword for Qunari, and seeing as we know trolls exist... I'm dubious

Staffs glow during casting now I guess.

Does that dragon's tail look a bit weird to anyone else?

Yeah, the back part is shaped a little weirdly.

Maybe it's sort of like a blood dragon or... beaver's tail.  Ugh I don't like making that comparison.

Oh, what a lovely community this Dragon Age fandom is. Have a different opinion, be called a troll when you defend and explain it.

Thanks guys.

Wasn't Lord Aesir referring to the giant/troll? Because Gaider confirmed trolls would be in Dai.

That how I understand it. Gaider said the "monster type" troll was in DAI and that gigantic monster might be it.

It looks like a monstrous beast, could almost be in the Witcher game really.

... I admit that thought didn't cross my mind. Huh ... now I look a bit idiotic. Well, if Aesir didn't mean me and I misintepreted his post, my apologies.

As with Gaider confirming trolls in DAI ... knowing his kind of humor I wouldn't put it past him to mean that he confirms that he will troll us. Writers can be wicked in that sense.

Okay, we now have giants. I don't care. The floodgate for new monsters was already opened by the ghasts.

Well, Dragon Age has this kind of tradition of killing trolls as a rite of passage. And then Flemeth appears to save us. Maybe in Inquisition we will need to kill a giant and then Morrigan appears? xD

*Shrugs shoulders, dragon still looks like a dinosaur.  Why in the world did they change the design of the dragons?  Scratching my head here.

Dragon Age going high-tech, a la mass effect, and star wars.  Mage staves laser up! This is a medieval setting right or did I miss something?
