I can't believe that we don't have a thread for my main qunari compadre!  What do we know about him:

1.)  He's massive and muscular

2.)  He's apparently the leader of mercenary band

3.)  And, that's about it, right?

So let's get this discussion off right:

Is he a Capital-Q Qunari?  Or a Tal-Vashoth? (My guess is the latter since his name is not a role in the Qun)

Is he a warrior or a rogue or a mage?  (My guess is warrior based on his concept art)

Will my qunari Inquisitor be able to get some qunari on qunari loving? (My guess is no, unfortunately)

Inquiring Inquisitors want to know!

I hope I can romance him. I've always wanted to romance a Qunari, not gonna lie they're pretty hot.

I'm assuming he's a warrior as well, I still have trouble imagining a Kossith being stealthy but obviously the Inquisitor will break that mold for me.

I think he's Tal-Vashoth, too.

Hopefully he's available as a romance to everyone, if he is indeed romanceable. Either way, I am very curious to know more about his backstory.

Imagine him and a Dwarven Inquisitor. He could carry her everywhere

I am too, I want to know why he's afraid of his past.

This guy sneaked from the docks all the way to the Chantry, got in position, killed Petrice, then made it all the way back to the docks with nobody but Hawke and Elthina noticing.

In short, they can be stealthy.

I am very curious if he might have been a character in DA2 that we simply never noticed.

Or perhaps he held a high position, under the previous Arishok or AriSten.

Well, his confirmation as a companion has been a bright spot on an otherwise dreary day. From the start, he's been the character I've found the most intriguing, and the one I most look forward to interacting with.

Coming in through a side door doesn't make you stealthy.

And how do we know no one else saw the giant man with red paint walking around?

He appeared there, yes, but that doesn't really mean anything and I'm also talking about something entirely different.

The Iron Bull- The Iron Bull is a long way from home, and he prefers it that way. A slap in the face of typically humorless Qunari(Kossith), he loves drinking, killing and looting- but not necessarily in that order. The head of a vicious mercenary company, he’s known for excellent pay and brutal punishment. It’s been a decade-long party, but the Bull may find that old loyalties die hard.”

This is the description of his character from that leaked survey way back in the day.  Since he's still in and has been confirmed as a merc leader, I wonder if the rest of this is still true.  If so, he sounds pretty ruthless.

Also, it sounds like he and "Sera" (based on her description and that tavern concept art) might get along pretty well.

That would be awesome! Or even in MotA?

For some reason I feel rather ambivalent about IB. I just see him as some meathead. I guess I would have to learn more about his personality before I can decide that I like him.

Well, considering by that time the Qunari were not exactly welcome guests anywhere but their slab on the docks is a good reason. Plus have you been in the room he steps out of? There's no doors to the outside in there.

It'd be a little like the fanart I saw of a Lady Qunari carrying Vivienne around so she doesn't mess up her clothes

So he snuck into a closet. A lot was happening at that time, is all I'm saying. The Viscounts son was just murdered, I don't think anyone was paying attention.

Didn't Gaider say he fears nothing but the past?

I wonder what was so traumatic for him?

Yes, the giant guy just "snuck into the closet". Considering his size and how out of place he is in the Chantry, that's stealthy. What do you consider being stealthy?

Wow, for the sake of exciting and polarizing party interaction I hope they go with that description.  The "old loyalties die hard" phrase could strengthen the case for him being Tal-Vashoth instead of one born outside of the Qun (gah, I'm just learning all these Qunari/Kossith details, sorry if I'm WAY off).

Ruthless and brutal... well, at least he won't be boring, right? :P

Iron Bull has been one of the characters I've been looking forward to since the survey got leaked. He's definitely going into my party during my first playthrough. He reminds me of a character in my writings and seeing the Dragon Age writers thinking on similar wavelengths to myself gets me all giddy. I remember back when the Iron Bull's description first got leaked, several people described him as "A Qunari Oghren". You know what? I'm totally cool with that. As for him being a love interest? Eh, maybe. I don't care either way but when I inevitably play a female Qunari in one of my many playthroughs, it'd be nice to have a fellow Qunari to fall for.

Like I said, considering the circumstances it makes sense that no one saw him. And who's going to challenge a Qunari walking in the streets? Everyone was afraid of them and only took them on in groups.

tbh I don't really feel like debating this, I'm just stating my opinion and moving along. I'll agree to disagree with you.

I think just the concept art (i think there was some of him) and the trailer from E3. Have you seen those?

I'm going to play a reaver qunari first actually. It's going to get so real.

He sounds like a lot of fun to me.

More importantly, he doesn't seem like he's got any personal stake in regards to the mage/templar situation. He's got his past catching up with him, which could be anything, but he doesn't seem to have any agenda in regards to the main challenge before the Inquisition; he's just going to be there to get things done. I like that.
