I ain't fond of Chuck Norris. He's kinda sexist
And homophobic. Two for one!
Ugh.
I hate that this thread title now officially has sexual undertones. I get that every character fandom has a subset of people who want their toon to bang said character, but not every fan of a character feels that way. Looks like thread officially became the Iron Bull romance thread.
The Iron Bull looks like an awesome character. But there will be no riding of bulls in my playthrough!
Exactly so. Can't we just appreciate a massive, horned, ale-swilling, killing machine without needing to ravish him?
*looks at edited title*
Why?
Ugh.

Meh, you can't please everyone. It's from a Chee tweet.

Well, I'm sure dwarf players would get a kick out of using him as a mount.
On his shoulders, I mean.
Ugh.

That's pretty much my thoughts. But I guess with the BioWare fanbase it's to be expected.
I really hope at E3 BioWare comes out and sets us straight on all the possible romance options so people stop speculating and we can get on with discussing more of the character and less of who we want to plough.

Meh, I like the phrase because it might be a hint that he is a LI
Though personally I would love for him to be a LI, but asexual one like qunari apparently are
He is a talvashoth, though

Honestly, the rampant LI speculation's kind of put me off on romance in DAI.
Kind of strange, considering my favorite love interest in any game is Morrigan, who wasn't even supposed to be, originally.
As for Bull, I doubt asexuality will go well with his hard-drinking disposition. He appears to have taken to the 'Bas' lifestyle like a fish to water.
I like the new title, very nice inclusive edit Dave ![]()

Yeah, very likely
The main reason I'd like to see Iron Bull as a LI is to subvert expectations. As far as we know, he's a rampaging beast of battle and insobriety but I'd like his softer side to be shown (though a romance should be by no means the only way for him to do so). However, I hope the "fear of his past" is related to the Qunari, and not a past lover. Too Zevran-y and Varric-y otherwise.

Don't forget a little racist. That's a rather repulsive threesome.
Either way, I can't wait to find out more about the Bull. What does he fear other than the Qun, or who, that's a what if I wanna find out about.
I am quite curious about Qunari/Kossith attitudes to relationships. Do they actually marry, or have romantic partners? Do they only get together to sire the next generation? I have a feeling this information is already covered, but I'm afraid I haven't heard anything about it.
This makes me wonder if romance even exists among Qunari, let alone "skin-deep" (In the words of Isabela) relations. However, since Iron Bull is Tal-Vashoth, he probably would have strayed from these beliefs anyway. My point is, even if he doesn't have the Qun's viewpoint on romance, he probably wouldn't be that experienced with it. It all depends on how long he's been away from that way of life. If the Iron Bull has been away from the Qun for a long time, then he's most likely had a couple of romantic partners. He certainly has the rugged mercenary look going for him.
However, I like the idea of him being inexperienced in romance, assuming he even is a love interest. A grizzled giant with horns trying to dance at the ball, or be sweet to somebody he likes, would make my imaginary ovaries explode.

without deviating too much off topic, qunari separate love from sex/lust completely. lovers in the qun don't sire children by themselves, the priests choose who breeds with who and they're the one who train the children.
they do feel love and have relationships, just without the sex and all that fun.
The leaked survey suggests the Bull has been away from the Qun for 10 years

If that part is still accurate then the speculation of him being apart of Sten's group
If 10 years then it's during the Blight in DAO,could be connected to Sten?
Perhaps in DA:I there will be a meeting/confrontation between the now-Arishok (Sten) and Iron Bull.

It certainly is possible given the time line. However, we don't have any connection between IB and Ferelden, right? Do we know that he was even there? I'm sure that Sten's group wasn't the only qunari party at that time. I'm kind of hoping that he isn't connected to Sten. That makes the world feel a bit small to me.

I get what you mean
Though I do wonder if he knew our Sten/Arishok

Even if he doesn't know him personally, he must know of him.

Maybe Iron Bull started to act like a rebellious teenager after abandoning the Qun? You know, doing all kinds of things he was never allowed to, or never had the chance to try out (and no I am not implying sexual things, I mean all the things in general).
10 years is a long time and it's certainly enough time to change one's habits or start a completly new life as a completly new person. He is scared of his past, aye? Maybe he wanted to change, so he would not be remembered of his prior self? Maybe he regrets something he has done in the past or wants to forget something his people did?
I am so so looking forward to hearing him telling us about his past. All angsty and stuff.
Buuuut, I really don't see how he could be connected to Sten. Sure, maybe he has met him somewhere once, or heard of his name, but what else?

Assuming Iron Bull was indeed part of the Qun and left at some point, perhaps Sten was Iron Bull's inspiration to do so. Like "this guy went out and did amazing things in another land, I can do the same!" except Iron Bull took it a step further and actually abandoned the Qun.

Well romances are a major draw for the series, seems only natural
