Qunari are known across Thedas as the brutal horned giants who descended from the north to nearly conquer the continent. These ruthless followers of a harsh philosophy enforce their will through the Ben-Hassrath: their spies and secret police. One brilliant agent did it all, hunting spies, rebels, and deserters until the day he finally broke. To preserve a valuable asset, his superiors sent him to Orlais to observe and report… and the Iron Bull was born.Today, Bull’s Chargers are famous mercenaries, fiercely loyal to the huge Qunari warrior who leads them into battles and taverns with equal enthusiasm. The Iron Bull still sends the Ben-Hassrath reports, but years of living outside Qunari rules have him wondering which identity is really him. Whoever he is, he’s more than happy to join the Inquisition and get paid to kill demons.http://www.dragonage...unari/iron-bull
Omg!
Damn. I wonder what made him break. Was it something that happened to him or something about his duties that disturbed him after a while?

I'm surprised that he still is (somewhat) loyal to the Qun. I predict a player choice to convince him to stay true to the Qunari or to abandon them.

Question is, what "broke" him?

So he's technically still Ben-Hassrath and part of the Qun? Interesting
Seems like he is questioning it all though. I am guessing his loyalty to the Qun will be part of his personal story. I wonder how he will react to the Vashoth Qunquizzy.

He's a lot like Tallis - both are Ben Hassrath who are in conflict about their role within the Qun.

Question is, what "broke" him?
He hunted people .
The Qunari can be really brutal , it doesn't seem they enjoy physical torture but they break people's spirits.
From what I've gathered , The Iron Bull is enjoying freedom and fighting.
His story seems pretty close to Talis.

Question is, what "broke" him?
I guess it was himself? From the description, I get the feeling Iron bull had to hunt down and kill anyone considered an enemy to the qun. Maybe some of them were people who didn't deserved it? And now he feels bad about it.

I'm imagining somewhere back in the islands there's a boss who is just holding her head going "Man we have got to stop sending people who are questioning their faith to other countries. It doesn't really help them focus"

We don't know if the act of hunting is what broke him. He could have been broken after a battle. Maybe a mage got close to getting a demon in him or something else that gave him some form of ptsd or crisis of faith.

He hunted people yes but was it a build up of hunting these individuals that broke him or was it one particular target that set him over the edge?
Ive speculated for a while that he was involved with an Arvaraad squad maybe being one himself

I don't know...
But anyway I'm really happy because I thought he would be just a random barbarian.
I always thouht Tallis struggle was interesting , but sadly her character didn't work too well ...(I liked MOTA , but after watching Redemption I felt she was a joke and couldn't take her struggle seriously.)
I "respect" the Qun , but If some Ben Hassrath come for the Iron Bull...Well I'm going to kill them all.
Also I can imagine a lot of companions won't approve of him being a Qunari spy.

I'm even more intrigued by him than I was before - this could certainly make for an interesting story, and it will be fascinating to hear about the Qun from someone who seems very different from Sten. (Not that I didn't love hearing about it from Sten, but new perspectives are always good.) And it could get particularly interesting if Sten - or, rather, the potential new Arishok - shows up in the game ...
