So he's technically still Ben-Hassrath and part of the Qun? Interesting

 

Seems like he is questioning it all though. I am guessing his loyalty to the Qun will be part of his personal story. I wonder how he will react to the Vashoth Qunquizzy. 

This makes his character a lot more interesting, and I was intrigued by him before. Sounds like his day to day life is becoming increasingly distant from the Qun, but he still considers himself a "Qunari" and sends information back to the Qun. Kinda like a Christian man who only attends church once a year at most and never prays, or really puts any effort into following the gospel otherwise, but still considers himself Christian.

Would a Ben-Hassrath be allowed to join the Inquisition? Their role is to defend the faith so I guess defense from demons might count but it doesn't seem like it would be his role to decide who does that job.

I'm even more intrigued by him than I was before - this could certainly make for an interesting story, and it will be fascinating to hear about the Qun from someone who seems very different from Sten. (Not that I didn't love hearing about it from Sten, but new perspectives are always good.) And it could get particularly interesting if Sten - or, rather, the potential new Arishok - shows up in the game ...

Yeah, I'm glad IB isn't just going to hate on the Qun from start to finish, since that's the view of the majority it seems, and we'll get a nice, healthy, balanced view of its pros and cons.

Not necessarily. A qunari inquisitor who was raised outside the qun shouldn't be viewed differently than anyone else raised outside the qun. They are uneducated, not anti-qun. (at least from the qun perspective)

He's a lot like Tallis - both are Ben Hassrath who are in conflict about their role within the Qun.

To be fair TKavatar does have a point. We just really didn't see the conflict in Tallis's character during the DLC proper.

IB is definitely one the characters who I'm most interested in getting to know.  He sounds so unique and I think he's going to be a riot to have around.  I'm really happy with everything we've learned about him today.  Very, very cool stuff.

His character summary makes me think of Michael Westen from Burn Notice. He was/is a spy, but how he solves strange problems with the help of his eccentric band of friends. I wonder if his men know about who he was?
