His character summary makes me think of Michael Westen from Burn Notice. He was/is a spy, but how he solves strange problems with the help of his eccentric band of friends. I wonder if his men know about who he was?

He's still Ben Hassrath , it seems.

He's just having a bit too much fun at work right now.

If he has a companion quest, it will most likely be about this issue.

So if the Iron Bull is in the Ben-Hassrath (officially, anyway), does that mean he could get ordered to bring in a Tal Vashoth Inquisitor? And then he would struggle with the dilemma about how strongly he wishes to fulfill the requirements of the Qun.

Isn't the inquisitor always just vashoth? Born outside the qun, they aren't on the run from the qun anymore than most humans or elves.

Regardless, a loyal Ben-Hassrath would be obligated to report and potentially apprehend Vashoths and Tal Vashoths.

A Vashoth would be no different than a non qunari, i dont see a reason to report that person

Well I guess , they could?

But 1 / it seems the Iron Bull broke down in part because he was hunting people. So now he's just spying.

2/We don't know the story of the Qunari Inquisitor.Possible he/she was born out of the Qun , and was never really a "Qunari".

What I think may happen is the Ben Hassrath are going to want some reports about the Inquisition.

From MOTA we know the Qunari have spies everywhere and are planning to attack at some point.

And the Inquisition is going to have a lot of valuable information about lots of things.

So I think we're going to have to talk with the Iron Bull at some point .

Literally everyone who isn't in the qun is a vashoth or tal-vashoth. Sera is a vashoth, dorian is a vashoth, alistair is a vashoth. You don't need to report when you go to a country where your religion hasn't spread "Oh god no one here is our religion I have to apprehend everyone"

Actually members of other races are Bas - Thing, implies foreign to the Qun. I think Vashoth and Tal-Vashoth are limited to qunari. But even so I doubt a Ben-Hassrath would aprehend a Vashoth, they might attempt to educate them, but as the Vashoth have not rejected the Qun (they are simply ignorant of it) they are no worse than Bas.

Gosh, won't this be awkward for Iron Bull if the Qunari invade due to the general weakening of Thedas?

If there is an option to guide the Iron Bull towards either path, I'll be spamming the "F--k the Qun!' options. Tal Vashoth is where it is at.  B)

I plan on going both ways also, in various playthroughs. I've always wanted to do a Qun Qunari.

I don't think so. Vashots aren't on the same level of the Tal-Vashoth in the eye of the Qun, because they don't fight it. I don't think that qunari hunt Vashots, but I guess we'll know more with Ib.

Nope. A Vashoth is a qunari that left the Qun but has no ill intentions towards it, so they'll generally leave Seheron and Par Vollen.
That's the main difference between Vashoth and Tal-Vashoth. The latter are against the Qun and fight.
People that never were members of the Qun are generally called bas, if i recall.

Now that we've seen some pics of a rather pretty qunari inquisitor I will be even sadder if he's not a LI for them.

You're suggesting this could be a source of fan tears? ^_^

I find it funny that it's merely an "option", and not the railroaded default. Why give option to embrace the Qun among the fanbase? It's like encouraging everyone that being a drone in 1984 was a good thing.

What a crock of sh*t. People need to be saved from this nonsense.
