The irony is that you condemn their certainty, while conforming to your own. The real issue merely seems to be that your personal philosophy is almost the opposite of the Qunari.

I only advocate that people have dialogue, sharing, and learning from each other. You can't do that with someone so sure of themselves, and who think you have nothing to offer in return. That your form of reality is a delusion.

I will only be hardheaded about this one thing -- that we don't be hardheaded. But if there's an entire group that claims "Truth", while others live in delusion... Well... then it's pretty much hopeless.

edit: Perhaps "delusion" is the wrong word. Qunari would simply say "You do not understand". You're just some "thing" that has no concept of reality, as it should be.

On a sidenote, the other thing that sucks about all of this is that we can't prove ourselves of "understanding" anything except by combat. In the end, we're just reduced to video game mechanics. We don't actually get to present any wisdom in DA2. We simply prove ourselves by fighting. It's absurd.

This is more a limitation of these just being games though. It just bothers me. That's all. I'm not seeing anything particularly illuminating from my interactions with Qunari this way.

So your truth is superior to their truth?

Did you even read what I said? Come on. I understand glancing at posts quickly from to time, but at least try a little. Your reply is way off. It's the exact opposite of what I said. I said I want to talk and trade thoughts with Qunari in a simple way. Debate, share, trade without preconceptions, where both aren't writing each off. To me, the first step is admittance to ignorance. Like just about everyone in the world does. You get nowhere if a conversation is completely lopsided from the getgo. When one insists on being better and more privy to "reality" than you are. It's absurd to even defend this kind of mentality.

This is not about truth. But respect.

And where does your idea of the Qunari not being able to do such a thing stems from?

The fact that Qunari already make claims on NATURE itself. They do not see themselves as a philosophy or religion to be debated. They think they are simply part of what is the natural order. Of "how things are". Nor are they a "belief" as you claim. They simply call it "understanding". And certainty. Not a belief. They are simply "being", as nature dictates.

To me, it's no different than trying to talk to someone who claims to be GOD. No different. To hold all rights to reality is the realm of gods. I can't even make a first minor step with someone like that. They expect submittable. Not debate. Not discussion.

I simply want them to drop the act. It's arrogance. And nothing more.

You understand that you have only ever conversed with their soldiers, yes? Do you expect deep profound and far spanning philosophical discussion in general with soldiers?

Once you get to talk to the priesthood and the craftsmen, your perspective might change. People who's entire purpose is to think about the Qun and what it entails. The soldiers' purpose is to believe. Don't expect too much out of them in regards to philosophical discussion.

Fair enough. You might not believe me, but I look forward to hearing it, if it ever comes. I want nothing more. Because as it stands, I don't know what use they are to me in my Dragon Age playthroughs. It just drags me down. Not my idea of fun.

edit: Anyways. Feel free to have the last word. I'll try not to derail from Iron Bull himself.

His Qunari name might actually be Tallis.

Most roles aren't available to both genders. I'm thinking Tallis might be the female version of the role of Tallis' mentor, Salit. I think of the two Ben-Hassrath names we know of, he is more likely to be called Salit. I want to know Bull's Qunari name even more than DHMG's.

My own interpretation of Salit's name was that it was just his Tal-Vashoth name, since it is a quasi-anagram of Tallis.

You started a heated "debate" over philosophy of fictional oxmen claiming that your superior point of view is much better than their point of view and treating other folk in this thread like childish fools
You sure have your priorities sorted

He's high enough to be always on top
Though if he is qunari then I ain't sure he is allowed to have sex with has. Even if he doubts his role himself

Salit is a role. Confirmed by Mary Kirby.

Just because I spark debate doesn't mean I claim superiority. It means I simply want to engage. And I want Qunari to be brought down to the level of everything else - to engage along with others. I want people to simply talk and respect (and even enjoy) each other's company.

If that's "superior", so be it.

So far, what I see from the Qun is there is no need for discussion. Only certainty and understanding matters. They already know "The Truth" about reality and assigned definitions and roles accordingly. There is no argument to be had with them. They are practically like Gods. You simply submit.

It amazes me how you attempt to turn it around and make me the "bad guy". I don't claim to know the "Truth". I wish to not inflict it on you.

Yeah, it was hard to make out what he was saying when it wasn't just "Vivienne!" or "Sera!", but I really like it.

Put it this way..

I see the Qunari as the antithesis of Flemeth. With her, everything is a mystery. She herself doesn't even know if situations she finds herself in is destiny or coincidence. And she's cryptic and unclear in everything she says.

While the Qun does the exact opposite. For whatever reason, that troubles me even more. I'm more comfortable with ignorance and anxiety than "purpose" and Certainty. To me, Certainty is godly. And I don't see the Qunari as gods. Yet they are trying to fill the role anyhow.

Anyways. I think that's all I can say on that.

What does it even have to do with Iron Bull? Engage in a conversation with whom?
I care less about your opinion. Most people here too. We didn't ask you to "enlighten" us with your almighty philosophical vision of qunari and the world
Wanna discussion? Start a new separate thread. This is Iron Bull's thread to discuss Iron Bull. So please do it or leave
