Man, he sounds like Oghren. I almost want him to embrace the Qun. lol

I really really hope there's an option to embrace the Qun, with him as your mentor or something. Yes, this would make me happeh.

If we can assist the Qun in the same way as him, without the restrictions of a strict follower, im all in.
Thedas will submit!

If he's living in excess debauchery, it's more likely you would be the mentor. Not the other way around.

I wonder how well Varric and the Iron Bull will get along?
Going by the profile interview and some old tweet about one of Patrick's character not getting along at all with one of Mary's. I don't think they get along at all.

Can you elaborate? How do you make Thedas submit to something you don't even follow yourself? lol
It reminds me of a David Cross joke, where he said he wasn't a Mormon, but he might raise his daughter as Mormon... and then deny her things, like drinking Coca Cola, just "because you're Mormon."

I am a bit disappointed at the "drinks himself sick" description, but I did call him being a man of great appetites.
Honestly, I'm glad for it. I imagine the conflicting loyalty, identity crisis element of Iron Bull will differentiate him enough from Oghren that he doesn't seem like a rehash, while at the same time he'll be a companion who's just fun to be around.

It's a bit strange because Varric was a bit sour about the Tome of Koslun shenanigans when he was talking to Tallis.
But he was still pretty nice and friendly to her overall.
If people like Cassandra and Vivienne likes The Iron Bull , he can't be all about "yeah we're going to invade destroy the Chantry and sew mages mouth shut, I'm cool with it!."
I think Varric may be a bit on the edge. The only person he didn't like was Sebastian and he was because Sebastian wasn't fun.

*sigh* you took my joke out of context,
Plus i dont have to follow something completely in order to assist it, the Iron Bull should be the prime example of that, i dont know why you questioned that

I wonder if you are a Tal-Vashoth Inquisitor if it will give you special dialogue and interaction with Iron Bull?

I question it because I don't understand. Why be so passionate enough to make a whole world submit, when you don't follow it? I just want to understand. I don't need another person getting on my case, like I'm the archvillain of the Iron Bull thread. Just explain your joke. Or your point. Or whatever it is. I'm asking nicely. ![]()

If you dont want people to get on your case, then dont get on their's.
I made a simple joke, now you want me to break it down so you can understand it, instead of just moving on.
You may have asked nicely but an analysis of a simple joke, is irrelevant to the forum and just pointless to go into in the first place.

Varric also doesn't like extreme points of view. "I'm sick of mages and templars". Whether it's the same case here, I don't know.

I'm actually very interested in racial romance restrictions, despite how much it would limit the PC even more. (Especially when you factor in gender restrictions) I always viewed it as a plausible added layer of storytelling concerning the inherent ideals of an Inquisitor based off of how they were raised and/or their culture, rather than physiology. So long as it isn't as shallow as Alistair turning down a female Warden if he is to be King and she's not a noble. Though, I realize it probably isn't going to matter because the dialogue choices are all the same for the Inquisitor across the board, regardless of race or gender. But it was an added layer of depth I mull over occasionally.
In any event, I must agree with you. My fem!qun!quisitor and IB are going to be best bros! (Unless he drinks himself to the point a hangover won't let him go on an adventure with her. Then she'll get on his case for bad habits like so.)
I absolutely prefer cultural/philosophical restrictions based on the actions of the Inquisitor against physiological differences because a person can change their philosophies. I think there would be more roleplaying involved for the player (in that the inquisitor would have to change the way they think and act to be liked - and loved - by certain companions) instead of taking choices out of the player's hands. Sort of like being able to save either Bethany or Carver as opposed to having it dictated by your class.
I do understand that adding certain restrictions does add "realism" to a character - everyone has preferences, right? - but I wonder if it would be better to explore those aspects of a relationship, having a character out of their comfort zone or something like that. I mean, not for every character because, again, people are different and some won't or can't change.
Bringing this back to The Iron Bull, perhaps romancing him as anything other than a Vashoth inquisitor requires more effort because you have take extra precautions? Conflicts with his beliefs or his fears of hurting the inquisitor. Not much, but a nice bit of content that adds a new layer to the character.
I don't know, I just want everyone to be happy and able romance who they want.

So it's just some kind of humor in the absurd?
I'm not on your case. As I said, I don't understand. So I ask questions. Is me being simply confused being on your case? Would you rather I just attack you? I didn't do anything here except ask another human being to elaborate.

He also witnessed the Qunari throwing desperate elves at armed and armored people while the elves were armed with dull swords and plain clothes. As well as just slaughtering people left, right and center. As well as create the power vacuum that was one of the biggest problems in Kirkwall.

OK. You gotta believe this though. I mean you no harm when asking a question.
Think about it. I could be some really disruptive troll or something. You know the type. I'm not here to upset people.
