I hope it's more of a "thing" that kills the crap out of all demons. And not just has fear or paranoia. Like he's badass most of the time, except with that.

If he can get along with Vivenne just fine, then I don't think it's about some paranoia of magic
No, it's probably very personal

might as well post this here too(from another thread):
I can actually see Iron bull and cole as friends
would love to see something like this, imagine Iron bull trying to lift Cole's spirits, in more ways than one.
PS: Cole might be adult-size, but Iron Bull is Huge!
THAT IS ILLEGAL ![]()

I have a feeling Iron Bull won't like Cole at all, if he "has a thing about demons" and Cole is quite close to demons in nature, at least at first glance
He might not know that for a good portion of the game. would be interesting as to how he'd react if he'd become friends with cole and then learn of his...condition.

Sounds like they'd make for a badass fight (Cole and IB).

LOL, and this is just after we discussed him wielding companions XD

Cole doesn't have a very good track record with one on one fights against warriors.

So what do you guys think about his voice? I expected something different, but I don't think I am disappointed. I imagined his tone to be...Harsher? I think? IB seemes to be pretty chill though, so I am not mad at all.
What am I talking? I will probably love his voice once I've played the game for the first 5 hours anyway.

Couldn't hear it very well; audio wasn't very clean in the video I watched.
It's definitely different from what I expected.

I've stayed away from videos since those trailers awhile back. I don't want to see too much anymore. Just going to go in surprised/ignorant at launch, I think.

Yeah, that was definitely a surprise. I kept listening and thinking, what accent is that? Is that upper class British? I don't think that's quite it, but it sounds more polished than I would have thought. It's a good voice, though. Deep, but not too deep. It has an air of both intelligence and lightheartedness, which I think fits with his character in a way that I hadn't thought of before. I crack up every time he says "Maaayhemm!"

That mildly disappoints me. Was hoping the companions would all have unique specializations like DA2.

Could be just a spec you can give him yourself though. It doesn't seem like the personalized specs we saw in DA2.

Just out of curiousity, does anyone have any information on who Bull's VA is?

Given that specializations are meant to be more central to the story, I'm assuming that the companions come prepackaged with the one that makes the most sense for their character. Could be wrong, of course.

I hope you're right. It'd be great to hear him have a comment or two (or small backstory) about it. Even after DAO, we don't interact with Reavers/Reaver lore much.

And Vivienne is a Spirit mage
Yet the Inquisitor can't be a Spirit healer
Maybe Iron Bull simply is a reaver?

Mainly I just want to avoid a situation like in DAO where you could give companions specs that made no sense with their characters; making Wynne a blood mage, for example.

That would also disappoint me because then the mages are getting something special, and it would just stink of laziness.
I wouldn't mind it if Iron Bull was a reaver with a little something extra to reflect his Ben Hassrath training, like how Merrill was a blood mage with keeper training and Anders was a spirit healer with extra to reflect his possession. But Iron Bull just being a reaver is disappointing.

Yeah, I don't want that either. But I think it could make sense enough for him. Sten didn't have any qualms about the ritual, if I recall. They're not breaking any of their own taboos by doing it at least.

I didn't think it was so much a "Spirit Mage" as it was just the "Spirit" tree. You know, the tree no one used in DA2 because it sucked.
As Former_Fiend said, I'm hoping the companion specs are different. Unique. If both Iron Bull and the Inquisitor can be Reavers, make us different kinds of Reavers so he doesn't end up completely obsolete.

Vivienne isn't a spirit mage. That was the spirit skill tree, that i think it'll be a general one.And Vivienne is a Spirit mage
