Why would you expect a Qunari mage to be thin? I know it is a trope and all that amges a physically frail, but the Qunari are atypical mages. They are a race that are naturally muscular (based on what we've seen so far). So for all we know the Iron Bull is of average size amongst the Qunari, which would mean that a Qunari mage would be the same size as him. Roughly anyway.

 

I didn't say I'd expect him to be thin. I said I'd expect a qunari mage to be comparatively thin. Naturally muscular doesn't mean they all have to fit the same mold. And, again, this could simply be Bioware being lazy with character models(unless I am to also believe that all humans on thedas are the same height and have the same body type).

 

And I don't know why I'm being singled out on this, being that I have been the least vocal about Iron Bull's size in this thread.

Yeah, I was referring to the second point. I mean I do expect some trepidation on The Iron Bull's part - and even Vivienne. Just look at the guy! -  even if he has been apart from the Qun for some time, at least at first. I just like the idea of the two developing a respect for each other.

I wouldn't say that BioWare is being lazy. It is BioWare probably spending their time and money wisely, instead of making sure that each and every character (of which there will probably be hundreds) have their own unique model. The one thing I could imagine BioWare doing is simply to enlargen the character model in certain cases. Which would generally just mean that the Iron Bull would just be taller than other QUnari, but not of different build.

And you are being "singled out" because you were the one the harpoon struck.

They don't need to all have different models. I'm willing to accept some gameplay and story segregation on that one because I realize that yes, it would be difficult giving everyone different body types.

 

Though next time around, maybe two or three body types per race and gender might be nice. 

 

One thing I absolutely don't want is for them to just scale up Iron Bull, though. Human and humanoid bodies don't scale in perfect proportion. It always looks weird to me.

I'm really hoping the inquisitor has the option to play as a mediator between The Iron Bull and Varric. The thought of those two being perpetually at odds breaks my heart. I was rooting for an epic bromance between them. And, by god, I'll have it.

And now half of my TA is already falling apart.

 

And I don't like when Varric is upset.

And The Iron Bull just sounds like he's such a friendly guy .

I'm excited.  A lot of people said playing a practicing qunari would be boring or near impossible.  So far, we've seen soldiers and Tallis.  They can't all be that rigid and boring.  Although that might explain why the tal-vashoth seem to be such a problem...

 

I'm excited to get to see the insights of someone who was born to the qun but isn't a soldier.  I'd be a bit happier if we saw a non-soldier qunari who wasn't having doubts.  Maybe an NPC later.

I'll just throw this out there, but do keep in mind that Iron Bull isn't confirmed as a love interest.

 

Established as sexual, yes. Bisexual even. But not everyone with the parts and the desire to use them is going to desire to use them on the Inquisitor. There are reasons why people might not want to screw their boss, after all.

 

Not to deny the possibility, but I advise tempering the excitement lest someone's heart be dashed from overly hyped expectations.

Maybe they'll get along after a while? Varric has a bit of a thing with the Qunari mostly because they were ready to raze his home because of a book. Varric is a reasonable man, and to be fair the Qun's whole thing with the tools of your trade being your soul is a little out there so the battle over the Tome of Koslun seemed overly excessive.

I'm so glad we have more Iron Bull fans now. There was only a handful of us for a while keeping the thread going, and look at it now.
