Qunari spy who come overly with his intention of sending reports to the Qun. In a way, he is the party member most pre-DAI players will probably refuse on principle, because these players knows that the Qunari want to invade again and convert everyone.
Yeah it's gonna be real interesting rationalizing his inclusion for my characters. I'm not really seeing the logic. Create an organization that aims to protect Thedas yet accept the spy from the people who want nothing more than a sign of weakness to come in and convert everyone. Imagine the specifics he could get in an organization like the Inquisition. At the same time I absolutely loathe the idea of missing out on an entire character. So I kinda wish there's an option to allow him to join, use his spy-network but somehow intercept his reports and at the end of it all have him killed. Or I'll just have to create a really naive Inquisie. Or possibly one that just really, really likes BGC.

Except the main reason he wants to join the inquisition is because innocent people are getting hurt and he wants to help put a stop to it. I get the sense that the reports he sends back aren't full of secrets at all, plus these also give you the benefit of information in return. So is it really spying if he has been up front and honest about it from the beginning and you know full well who he is and what info he is sending back.

To me, it's like this;
Who cares? Who gives a flying sh*t? So what if the qunari are going to invade at some point down the line. We don't close the breach, there won't be a Thedas left for them to invade. Let's save the world today so there will be a world for us to kill each other over tomorrow.

The funny thing about his description is that he seems to think he's going to be paid. He should know very well that "companion" is a volunteer position.

I suspect what he sends back is something like, "Killed a bunch of demons today. The Inquisitor sealed another breach. We now control Redcliffe." Not secrets to blackmail people with or anything, just status updates on whether or not the Fade is going to consume all of Thedas. I might be wrong, but that's the impression I got when they said he'd be open about spying.

Roleplaying is a harsh mistress when one wants to have every piece of content there is, isn't it? But I suppose there are ways to justify it.
-A Dwarf Inquisitor may not know much about the Qunari, especially if they're not a surface Dwarf.
-We already know that the Elf Inquisitor is going to be Dalish. Hardly a chance to meet a Qunari face to face before the game, and probably not too fond of believing everything the shemlen say. Also, Qunari are famous for giving equal rights to elves in their lands.
-A human Inquisitor, especially if they're a mage, would have the most problems with him. But you could always play the "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" card. It wouldn't be the first time in Dragon Age (Zevran and Nathaniel, anyone?).
To me, it's like this;

This too.
Think about it, this guy admits that he has less than ideal interests while at the same time is more than willing to provide help to stop the end of the world. That's much more than other people, people in power and with the supposed responsibility of taking care of their citizens, have ever done for a player character in a DA game.

Also, I do believe it was said that he'd be giving the Inquisitor information about the Qunari in return. So it's not as though you're not gaining anything (besides extra muscle and eye-candy, I mean).
I'm curious as to how a Qunquisitor would justify taking him in. I can see them maybe being a bit curious about the Qunari philosophy, since they never knew it, and may or may not have had parents that were willing to discuss it.

So, Gaider just dropped a nice bomb in the Cassandra thread.
Potential hinting at racial restrictions depending on romance.
Personally, I don't care too much, there's like two companions this might effect, one of which is Iron Bull.
Though to be fair, I don't think dwarven/elven parts may mesh correctly with qunari parts? Hell, even human may be pushing it.

Iron Bull= Best future brolationship ever! I ain't even mad if I can't romance him. He is going to be the new Varric or DAO:A Bro Anders just a bit more chaotic with mayhem thrown on the side. It would be awesome if he could toss the Inquisitor depending on their race.

Well his character interview does mention that he wants to shag everything that he doesn't break, so I'm pretty sure that our resilient inquisitors (who may or may not be able to survive cataclysmic events that rip the veil and make demons pour out of the sky) can withstand riding the bull no matter the race
.

Iron Bull's definitely coming everywhere with me and Varric in my first playthrough. xD
Potentially sleeping with him is just a bonus.

The Dwarf and Elf Inquisitor might have a chance of flying and landing by their feets.
Human and Qunari Inquisitor might land on their faces ![]()
Iron Bull may be strong, buff and good-looking but I doubt he would throw enough force to give the Humans/Qunari some momentum to
"fly" and land on their feet. He might pull a muscle as well since they aren't lightweight ![]()

After the Mayhem;
Sera: ...Can we do that again?
Iron Bull: *stretches* You're gonna have to give me a minute.
I REALLY hopes there is a scene where Sera does relent to the idea and lets him throw her, I don't care even if it is in a cut-scene, I just want to see the MAAAYYYHEMMM! #ThinkOfTheMayhem
In relation to LI, ever since the Q&A blog I have pondered if he will be an LI but restrictive to maybe Human or Qunari Inquisitor seeing as he references about Sera and Varric being small and the Q&A thing mentioning about not sleeping with something he can break.

Maybe they'll split the difference between him and Varric? Qunari, humans and elves for Iron Bull, but dwarves are too short. Varric only romances dwarves. Fans of both win (even if that means I can't eventually romance Iron Bull with a lady!DwarfQuisitor). I like both of them, but had given up on Varric. This solution would please me.
It would also save on romance animation. Genders are always the same height, and now elves and humans are the same height, so for Iron Bull they'd just have to do Qunari and human heights, and for Varric they'd just have to do dwarf heights.

My big concern with this right now is more on how the PC will be limited; ie, maybe Iron Bull is available for all races and genders, but the qunari inquisitor has the option of Iron Bull or the brothel.

That would be depressing. I hope my theory is right and there are no other restrictions, but Bioware lives on fan tears and trolling. We shall see.

This is the worst case scenario. I hope that a human woman is available to them.So essentially my concern with this boils down to "straight male or lesbian female qunari? Sh*t out of luck!"
Assuming there aren't other romances outside the party and advisors, which I doubt.
