I had a feeling the 'Iron Bull' would be for female Qunari only, I'm glad just about anyone can have him.

I doubt he'd be afraid of "breaking" a Qunari Lady.  So, nah, I don't see it.

I'm sure as a mercenary he's met many women tough enough to try putting a sword in his face or to hire to put swords in other peoples faces.

 

But maybe? I'd figure they'd have phrased it differently then tho.

I'm still not entirely convinced he'll be a romance option at all. After all, Oghren would hop into bed with anyone without a Y chromozone and he wasn't an option.

 

But who knows. Hopefully they'll go with the variety option.

Even if he doesn't turn out to be an LI for the PC, I'd appreciate seeing him as a non-LI bisexual character for the sake of representation in general and representation among Qunari.  

 

I could very much enjoy swapping rowdy battle stories just as much as rowdy sexcapade stories with him, as my PC's drinking buddy.

By that same token, though, I wouldn't mind if he were straight, just so that not all of our promiscuous companions(well, successfully promiscuous, at least) are Bi.

 

I wouldn't mind if he were gay, either, but I imagine there might be some outcry about the portrayal of a gay man as being promiscuous; I remember Anders getting that right after release because he comes onto Hawke, despite Anders being bisexual.

We've had straight non-LI promiscuous folks -- Oghren, for example.  Sebastian was a "playboy" before taking his vows of chastity.  I think there might be something to be said about Morrigan, too, with her sexual agency.

 

I get what you mean, certainly.  After all, I'm not a fan of the whole bisexuals as promiscuous and willing to bed anyone that is available thing.  I'm just viewing it as his character already has been written and shown to be this way from his bio, and there's nothing that can change it, so I'm just accepting of it.  Now, the assumption is that he's bisexual, yes.  "Jumping into bed with anyone he won't break" doesn't necessarily mean bisexual/pansexual.  

 

That he's the only Qunari out of the small few we've interacted with, showing signs of sexuality and even sexual desire that isn't heteronormative like the blurbs about the Qunari paint in their clinical mating habits; it is far more interesting for me to see him be non-heterosexual.  And I'm more okay with a promiscuous bisexual than I am with a promiscuous gay man, considering the stereotypes down that avenue and that we've only had 1 (Cortez) in BW's entire history.

I imagine that the PC is "sturdy enough" on virtue of being the PC.  They did just survive the Thedasian equivalent of a nuclear blast largely unscathed.
