Inquisitor: What does this symbol mean?
Iron Bull: It's a metaphor.

Okay so not a mushroom cloud. That is pretty adorable. Though it could perhaps be some sort of religious iconography we're not currently aware of.

Perhaps flowers aren't perceived as being delicate and feminine in Qunari society as they are by the rest of Thedas. They could symbolize some pretty badass things as far as we know.
Flower clearly symbol Deceit and Sneakiness.
It is a demand of the Qun.
Actually in all seriousness, the Qun has shown us an apperciation of the arts and nature before.
I mean, Sten and his appreciation of paintings, animals and flowers shows that.
.... *GASP* I NEED IRON BULL PLAYING WITH A KITTEN LIKE. NOW PLEASE.
Actually, if it is a Daisy, in the language of flowers, Daisies symbolise: Innocence, Loyal Love, I'll Never Tell, Purity

It looks like the sun, but as a flower, to me. I like it. Maybe if he's a LI he'll give us a similar flower? Or maybe it's just the logo of his merc company. Either way would be cool.

What kind of Merc company uses a flower/sun as a logo?
A kitten would've been better.

Overinterpretation-time: The Ben-Hassrath spread their believes (the seed) thoughout the world; the sun (time) grows these influenced people into followers of the Qun (small growing plant).
Or the Iron Bull likes flowers. That symbol looks like a picture made out of chalk and... I hope it's just the quality of the picture.

Crack pot theory: Maybe the Iron Bull is a father. The devs might've wanted to give us a look at Qunari children, and what better way than to have our Qunari companion have a little one waiting at home for him that we could met during personal quest or something. Maybe the kid drew the daisy.
Or maybe the Bull just really, really likes flowers.

I find this very cute, but aren't qunari unaware of who their relatives are?
I thought the children are taken from their mothers and educated somewhere and given their "purpose"/"rank" at the age of twelve or something?

Yes, but the Bull doesn't exactly live the typical Qunari life, does he? And if he's willing to jump into bed with anyone like his profile says, maybe along the way there was a little accident. It could be pretty adorable if it turned out to be the case, but obviously there is no evidence pointing that way. ![]()

Qunari 're-educate' those who have accidental children and still take the kids away to be raised by priests like every other kid.
He could in theory have a kid with someone not a member of the qun and in orlies, but not one at home.

I would adore it if one of our companions had a child, and was ACTUALLY A GOOD PARENT. Just one good father figure that doesn't die at the beginning of the game Bioware, that's all I'm asking for, just one.

Its kind of a sad remark about our companions when a good parent would stand out from the crowd lol.
But this is kinda true, although I imagine Morrigan would make an excellent mother. Ruthless, unforgiving, and little time spent celebrating or being 'happy', but her kid would grow up to kick ass.

Might not be good for a normal person, but for someone with the soul of Old God, they need stricter training to ensure they can control themselves and whatever power comes with their status as OGB.

No no no, you're missing my point, Bioware has plenty of those types of parents. I'm talking about someone who ensures that their child is safe, happy and flourishing. Someone who will discipline when necessary, but also shows their kid lots of love and affection. Someone who gives their child all the tools resources, and mentoring they need to succeed, but doesn't pressure them to pursue any specific path in life.
You know Steve from Mass Effect... the nice, stable shuttle pilot who recently lost his husband. The guy who worries about you, but channels that worry into doing the best he can at his assigned task? The guy who can crack jokes with the rest of the guys, but is capable about being emotionally open when it matters... That guy? If you to were ask me which Bioware character would make the best parent, I'd probably say him.

I cant say much, as im not ready for the world to end yet when my spawn comes into this world. Being strict and abusive can backfire, look at flemeth's relationship with morrigan. An excellent parent is one who will help their child achieve what they want to achieve from behind the scenes so to speak. My mother was strict in some places, but never beat me to get her point across. She let me pursue my own path in life, and offered advice in times when i asked and times i wanted her to but out. Though we differ in many opinions (she being a devout catholic and me being raised that way only to become an atheist), we both respect each others opinions. Through all the hardships and fights over the years, she raised me to be a decent person, and i never even noticed. That is an excellent parent.
I see morrigan as a parent that wants to use the child for personal means (not necessarily in an evil way), not nurture it to find its own path. She may teach the baby to control its power, but that would be the equivalent of my dad teaching me to drive. Its a skill, anybody can use a skill, its what you use the skill for that matters. And Morrigan is severely lacking in the teach them to use said skills to fufill what they wish to do (whether good or evil). Thats why i dont see her as being an excellent parent, more so a blacksmith forging a weapon
Anyways, how bout that iron bull?

Yes. I approve of Single-Parent-LI!Iron Bull. Heck, I'd be happy with any of our companions having kid that grows up in the Keep. But it would be especially endearing for Iron Bull, especially if the child came up with his logo. I know we've had companions with kids in the past, but they were always full grown. Having an actual kid around would be great.
