I'm so glad he sounds nothing like Vega, I don't mind the VO I just hated Vega (sorry Vega lovers). That video showcasing some of his acting sounds amazing!

It's probably a great exorcise for FPJr, too; Vega used very close to his natural speaking voice. This lets him test out his range.

Yeah. Personally I hope he'll get lots and lots of different voice-acting roles in the future. I will totally look forward to that. Love how he has to make that dorky grin everytime he voices the bull in the video 

 

That talk about taking some souvenirs got me thinking... I am really curious how Iron Bull armor options will look in the game. I hope for lots of spartacus-armor. And I need Vivienne commenting on these, please.

Fabulous to see a big name film actor actually VOICE act! So many celebrities don't know how to voice act and he's so good at it! Such a wonderful surprise!

I think it's "Fisher's bleeders"... Someone made a reference to Bane already, but I doubt he'll be as hard to understand as that guy.

Huh, why does it feel like cheating? I'm a non-native English speaker as well, but I am scared of misunderstanding something, so I turn the subtitles on. Especially if people have dialects.

I'm much better at reading English than hearing or speaking it.

So having subtitles feels like I'm getting out of learning to hear it well.
It's just a personal thing.

I just have annoying family members who barge in and talk over my TV at vital moments!

Apart from the vicious/fisher's thing, I can understand IB pretty well I think.

He sounds amazing, voice and personality wise.
Can't wait to meet him in-game!

This. My first language is Japanese and sometimes, despite  being fluent in English words get lost on me or sound  like gibberish . It helps to read it and hear it , especially with dialects/accents!

Wasn't that into Iron bull until i saw the Freddie Prinze Jr video, man i am in love, with both him and the bull. I loved his work on Vega, but this seems like a new lvl.

I'll echo everyone's sentiments that Freddie Prinze Jr sounds great as IB. My first reaction was "wait, what, real?" since I only remember him from the teen roles he used to play (haven't played Mass Effect so I had no idea he voiced Vega, too). I would never had expected that voice from him. Can't wait to hear him in game!

This is another reason I dislike it. I always enjoy listening to the voice acting, and as an actor myself, I like to appreciate the actors for the work they did. But when I can read what they're saying, and the urge to skip dialogue increases, it's annoying.

What's the big deal with subtitles anyway? Does their existance somehow insult the voice actors? Is playing without them is the only way to "appreciate the actors for the work they did"? Are we subtitles-users somehow not appreciate their work by using subtitles?

These are just lines of text which appear on the screen, no big deal, not problematic, not bad, good, even, for people who have hard time understanding speech

I play with them on my first few playthroughs so I don't miss words that aren't enunciated well

Yeah it's helpful for that too. I usually turn them on before I get in the game and never touch them afterwards.

 

Though I do prefer when they're below the characters faces. I don't like them at the top so much. I loved the FTG UI mod for DA so much.

I just found out that Freddie Prinze Jr was Fred from the Scooby doo movie. How funny   
I remember watching that movie as kid. 

 

Overall, I'm really pleased with his voice.

Didn't get any Vega vibes from the voice he was using so that's great
