I still think Varric will be one of the race-gated romances. They are just keeping so unbelievably tight-lipped when it comes to him though. *shakes fist at Bioware*

 

So in my mind, that leaves one more for race-gated. I prefer to think that they would have mentioned race-gating once they reveal the LI and their orientation, but I know that BW has a sadistic streak at times. :lol: Plus, I just like to remain positive about it. Thus, I look at the "anyone who he thinks he won't break" comment as an indication of his openness, not how the player could be blocked from him. (I hope I just made sense. I need to eat lunch. :P)

 

No, that makes sense :) The inquisitor is probably going to be tough no matter his/her race or sex.

 

Yeah Varric probably is a decent candidate for a race-gated romance, considering his banter in DA2 about preferring dwarves.

I don't think they would have recommended a playthrough for Bull if he was just a fling.

 

Exactly! <3 That's what I always quote when people are trying to dismiss him as a fling or not an LI at all. The way I see it, I don't think they would have said that if he wasn't really an option, it would be pretty mean to raise so much hope on it and be like "oh, I was just joking!" :P

I think there are different connotations to that saying. One is him being very adventurous in bed, so no plain boring ordinary smexy times for this guy. It could also mean that he likes sex A LOT. I'm sure there's another way of looking at it as well.
