Perhaps the implication is that you can only have a fling with him, so it's technically kinda maybe classed as a romance but not really.

So now that I know Iron Bull is Freddie Prince Jr I hate the voice....  I liked it before but now when I hear it I just mentally see Freddie doing a dumb voice....  Hope I will get over that in the full game.

I don't think Bioware would classify him among the 8 romances if he was just a hook-up/fling, or somehow has less content than the others.  They didn't even officially acknowledge Sebastian as an option in the DA2 love interest reveals - despite his DLC being day one - even though you could more or less propose marriage to the guy.

 

I think his PTSD thing was hinted at with the whole "the only thing he fears is his past" thingie from the FemQuizzie trailer, so I'm expecting that he did or saw something he couldn't handle and they transferred him because of it.  Maybe this traumatic event, and not just being distanced from the overseers of the Qun, is what really makes him turn to men/woman and drink?

Makes me wonder if his romance will be like Jack's, where you have to refuse the initial advances in order to romance him properly.

That's an interesting idea.  I plan on playing my mainQuizzie as a frisky little minx so that may be a problem.
