It's scenes like that that make me wish FemShep could have romanced Jack.
This times a thousand. Sigh. FemShep's romantic options are the main reason I haven't played her yet. (Cause I really wanted Miranda or Jack.)

Either. Both. At the same time.
At least I got Traynor with dat voice. AWR
Pretty confident he will be, especially now knowing only two romances will be race gated. He must be one of them.god I hope i can romance him cause he is wayyy more good looking than Dorian ; / blehhhh

Agree 100% Perlman would have been perfect!
Patrick Warburton's screaming voice would be even better

After the little caveat in his bio about not wanting to break potential partners, you'd think so. But that sounded like a technical issue, and Cam said the race-gating was related to the story, not technical limitations. So, I just don't know.

Bioware has pretty much confirmed him already. They're not just saying "yes" because they feed on our uncertainty and tears.
In other news, I've been catching up with all this new stuff this morning, and Iron Bull has PTSD? I wonder if that's even a recognized condition in Thedas. Remember the crazy guy in DA2 who thought he heard demons? No one in out party quite knew what to make of that. PTSD is not the same thing, I know, but Thedas seems to have little knowledge of mental health. Did the Qunari think he had just lost his nerve? Do they semi-recognize it like back in the day when we used to call it shell-shock? I'm really curious about the state of mental health services in the various nations of Thedas now.

Excuuuuuuse you.
(ahem)
IB can be the Garrus of DA - that scarred, oddly attractive despite being decidedly not-human, chill homie who will beat the crap out of baddies before inviting me out for a beer...and who also lets me also have sex with him in possibly weird positions to account for biology (and horns).
I see so much potential I am overwhelmed. /gets the vapors/

True... they have some similarities going on. Bull sounds like he might be a little more promiscuous but they're both very not human, both have battle scars, both fought to protect people under their role, both seem to have a snarky humor... hmmm... interesting. xP

I'm not a Garrus-mancer, either. Mostly because he was my best friend in the games. I loved his friendship.
Though, If I ever go back and try a different playthrough/romance, I would choose his first.
I do plan on romancing Bull first, though. I'm just really excited about finally getting another Qunari companion and having the choice to be one... my first file will be full of Qunari awesomeness.

I wonder if we can shower the Iron Bull with cheesy compliments.
Freddie Prinze Jr. did mention something about him being very confident, but indifferent towards compliments (If I recall correctly).
Inquisitor: You have a very handsome face.
Iron Bull: Damn right I have. [continues to eat chicken]

This is one of his personality traits I find very attractive, because its common to come across burly, skilled warrior-types who brag or tout their abilities. His practicality of "meh, I am what I am" is the most Qunari-like thing I've heard described about him thus far.

What initially attracted me to him was how much of a non-typical Qunari he is, but I do indeed like that about him, haha. I think even though he's going to be very different from the other Qunari we've encountered, he will still hold on to some of those Qunari-like behaviours... maybe with a bit of his own flair added in.

Technical problems can lead to story changes. See the romance thread for my Jaws analogy.

I think they'll have him be afraid of squashing dwarves because they're so much smaller. That would technically be a story reason and it would have the awfully convenient side-effect of making animations a hell of a lot easier.
#4596
Posté 10 juillet 2014 - 08:56
Yeah, I can see them turning technical issues into story reasons, to make things easier. I'll be glad if they do. I'd rather have a reason Bull can't romance dwarves, than just him not being able to without ever getting an explanation.

I don't plan on playing a dwarf, so him being gated for them has no impact on me whatsoever, but I think it would be super frustrating if the reasoning is just "meh, you look breakable" when dwarves are certainly not breakable at all. They're just short.
I can't begin to guess who would be gated out of the possible options, though, so who knows? It wouldn't surprise me that they give the "risky" love interest the race gate because the theory would be that he wouldn't be the most popular choice to begin with, and thus less people bitching they're being c*ckblocked based on their race. And yes, I consider Iron Bull the risky LI cuz' he's the most visually different and most people equate different = ew. ![]()

Maybe his PTSD was caused by dwarves, somehow? I just don't think he'll be available to dwarves. If I was Bioware I know that would be my major concern with having him as a romance. The animations would be near impossible.
EDIT: That's not to say that I wouldn't like it. My first post in this thread was declaring how much I'd like to pair him with a lady dwarf, I believe, but I've thought about it from a creator's viewpoint and it is a nightmare.

It sucks that he'll probably be race-gated. But luckily (hopefully) there will be another bi male/female, so if you don't like the gay or straight option for your gender, there will be someone else beside Iron Bull who's more amenable to your race.
