I'm just going to romance Iron Bull because he looks like an interesting character and he might have some interesting interactions with my Inquisitor (since he'll be a Qunari Mage). It depends on which LIs in the game my character likes more. (I'm roleplaying my character as much as possible)

Maybe his PTSD was caused by dwarves, somehow?

Maybe the new Arishok considers Darkspawn a threat that needs to be investigated, and sent IB to the deep roads to investigate. He joins up with a dwarf exposition since they know the area and then they run into a tainted dragon and he only gets away because of dwarves sacrificing their lives.

Can't even look at one now without remembering.

Unlikely that it was a teammate being possessed, bc that'd mean a Sareebas and they're not exactly chatty. Hm, I'm at a loss of what could have happened now :L

I was thinking maybe torture since he only has one eye, but that could just as easily be a normal battle scar.

FPJ said demons freak him out, so I think that's a safe call.

 

As for his PTSD, it could be a culmination of many things he's done, and now he has some trouble readjusting to a life that has (or is supposed to have) less battle. I imagine going from special forces type of guy to a spy would take some getting used to.

It goes without saying that demons scares the crap out of any sane person   

 

Regarding his PTSD, maybe he witnessed his comrades' death or witnessed a demon possession that caused it?

 

Can't wait to explore his arc and learn more of his past.

He's definitely the character I'm looking forward to meet

I was thinking about this racegating-thingy... Iron Bull is willing to hop with pretty much everyone into bed, if they're not too fragile, right? But a romance is something different than just hopping-into-bed-with-character xy. Maybe he's ok with banging pretty much every race (this sounds so extreme gosh), but he can't really see himself in a serious, deep relationship with them? I mean, being in a relationship means that you're basically willing to live your life together with another person. I could see him thinking about returning home sometime in the future. He didn't abandon the Qun after all. Wouldn't it be easier to return home with another "re-educated" qunari and having a secret affair, than returning with e.g. a dwarf?

I'm really hoping he's not an Isabela 2.0.  

But it very well could be he might struggle with the notion of a serious relationship. This is an excellent point.

I'm hoping that based on our influence and dialogue/friendship with him we can either help persuade him to go back, or break it off with the Qun for a new and different life. I think that would be an interesting thing to see both sides of.
