I guess we will have to help him with some unintended consequence from his past, in typical Bioware fashion. Not that I'm complaining; Iron Bull must have one of the most interesting backgrounds in the game.

When was he confirmed as a companion?
Yeah, the "fear his past" and the "old loyalties" line makes me think that he's Tal-Vashoth but maybe has some connections still with his old life.
He sounds fun, but he might be a bit of a dick.

I've previously speculated that he may initially be an antagonist and that his mercenary band will be hired to oppose the Inquisition early on, and we'll have the option of recruiting him, similar to Zevran.
Was fairly baseless speculation, but I'll be pleased if it holds true.
I think just the concept art (i think there was some of him) and the trailer from E3. Have you seen those?

This guy sneaked from the docks all the way to the Chantry, got in position, killed Petrice, then made it all the way back to the docks with nobody but Hawke and Elthina noticing.
In short, they can be stealthy.
It seems to me that stealth would be an inefficient way of doing this. Just look like a vaguely dissolute, drunken merc. Nobody will accuse you of being a Qunari (in the proper sense of the term) if you pull the act off well enough.

I am a little curious how intelligent he is. I wonder if he's going to be like Jade Empire's The Black Whirlwind, Origins Oghren as was mentioned above or Mass Effects Grunt. That or perhaps he's going to be both savage and cunning along the lines of Rex. At least that's how I see Rex considering he's not only a fearsome mercenary but a skilled political leader. For a krogan.
I'd prefer if he was both fearsome, so that at a glance he would seem like a brute, and highly intelligent. The intelligence typically coming out in his battle plans for when he considers you worth speaking to instead of chopping up. Fearsome and strong doesn't have to mean stupid after all. Fearsome, strong and cunning is even more frightening.
Plus I just think it's funny when the big stoic quiet brute turns out to have the mind of a scholar. He just doesn't consider most worth speaking to.
He'll be almost always in my party if that's the case.He sounds like Wrex.

For some reason I feel rather ambivalent about IB. I just see him as some meathead. I guess I would have to learn more about his personality before I can decide that I like him.
Kinda how I feel right about now. The descriptions so far don't impress me, but here's hoping we'll learn more and he'll be awesome.
