I hope the Iron Bull is one of those companions we have to recruit, each game as a few the game forces to have and some we can miss such certain circumstances don't occur (or sometimes do occur). So far I feel the only one I can see us being without is Cole, though I'll certainly be using him a lot.

i dont think we will miss cassandra or varric, and probably viviene (the game likes to give you a full party before the end of the prologue).  Other than that i think the other companions are missable

Yeah ... I rivalmanced Sebastian and sided with the Templars and strongly felt a kiss was warranted in the end just before the fight against Orsino. I guess his chaste marriage does fit the bill I described ... but it isn't exactly what I meant, and I'm glad you could see that. It felt like a weird cop-out. I didn't need a fade to black scene, but Seb didn't have to be so ... devout.

Holy expletive! I just found the my new favorite qunari fanart of all time:

Going to reconsider no horns...

It was the closest thing we've gotten to a romance like that so thats why I use him as a example. His romance felt very cold and distant to me I didn't really like that kind of felt like he was humoring Hawke I guess. If we do get another romance that has no sex I hope its a well done romance, a relationship can be very meaningful and caring without sex in it and I'd be very interested to see how one would be handled in game  :)

You are going to end up taking all my likes I just got them back stop that  :P

I would imagine you can't really miss Iron Bull, but maybe not sharing your secrets with him or whatever it was they discussed would result in him either not joining or leaving early.

That was the last one, I promise. (;
...For now.

So we can assume based on Bull's character information that he has had previous sexual partners - has anyone speculated whether he has fathered any children while working in his homeland for the Qun? Sten said the children were not raised by the birth-givers ... I imagine they must choose who the baby-makers would be, and based on Bull's prominence (head of his spy network), I wonder whether he would have fit the criteria.

I think it depends on their population needs.  They probably assess who they think will produce the offspring most likely to test for the role they need.

That would give us at least one of each class. I can also see Solas as unmissable due to his expertise on the Fade and the fact he seeks the Inquisition, the Inquisition doesn't just come across him.

He may have had kids back in seheron. Maybe in his youth he got selected to pass on genes once or twice. (I doubt they have one person have to many kids so its easier to avoid incest in future generations) but if that were the case I don't think he'd have even met them.

Now if he'd accidently fathered a child with a tal-vashoth or another race (wtf would those hybrids look like?) that's another story. Although I assume thedas has pretty good birth control, those have existed for a lot longer than people seem to realize.

I"ll prepare myself to say goodbye to them then while I have a chance.

I would imagine that he would unless he's sterile but more than likely that won't be addressed at all which is a shame cause I would be curious to know if there are mini bulls running around or if qunari can even cross breed they may not be able to which would be very interesting but if they can I'd love to know what a half qunari would look like. Though this speculation is him being outside of his homeland, inside it i have no idea I guess since they all have roles that there might be qunari selected just for breeding? I'm not really sure how that works though.

I was mostly thinking that he might have a child or two that he hasn't met, but I don't think he would not know of them ... I don't know why exactly, but Sten seemed to imply that the children were taken away from the birth parents to deter sentimentality and I feel that the child would be taken away from the parents, rather than just "the mother" / "the mothers" if they had a role for just a number of women deemed to be mothers (similar to non-chaste priests). This is just my opinion though.

It'd be especially unusual if Bull had a baby with someone in Ferelden or Orlais.

I suppose they could have sheep skins or an equivalent, but they weren't commonplace though they existed.

Mademon, If he was told to breed in Seheron he'd know kids may exist but he wouldn't know them. The qunari priest caste does all child rearing and deciding who has kids. We know qunari don't get to keep their kids and if they have them by accident when they're not told to they get 're-educated' by the priest caste (possibly involving their creepy brainwipe drug)

If he had kids with someone while sleeping around orlais or ferelden the qun wouldn't really be able to take those kids so it's possible he'd have met one? BUt again birth control is an option. Even chemical and plant birth controls are much older than people think. Look up Silphium, it's a plant the traditional heart shape is based on...because it was used as a contraceptive in ancient rome to the point where it go wiped out from overuse.

Bleh. If elves really have passive DNA ... and I thought them birthing a human babe would be difficult.

Though half-dwarves have been mentioned, having not seem them, I don't think that there will be too many half-races to view. They probably default to one race or another ... however - I wonder if Bull is a half-breed (or whatever the polite terminology of that would be), or any other of our companions for that matter.

I thought you were saying previously that he wouldn't know that kids exist, but thank you for confirming that he would know that they exist. d;

I also did know about re-education. (:

I'd be interested to see how a elf qunari hybrid would work. I know elves and humans create humans but biology is weird, especially with hybrids. I mean if you breed a lion and a tiger you get massive differences in the result depending on which the mom is and which the dad is, just because human and elf results in one thing doesn't mean elves would get that result with everything they have kids with.

I mean unless it's magic. Which it might be.

.....owch.....

I know elves DNA is very passive but I don't know about the other races and it would be interesting to see what any half breeds look like really, but I really doubt it would be brought up which is a shame cause I would have loved the option to talk an LI or companion in general about kids it'd be pretty fun to see what Iron Bull's reaction would be to that topic in my opinion.

Have we had any companions that are? I don't read the books or comics so I have no idea but a 'half breed' companion would be cool to see though it would make me envious and want to play as one myself.

I won't be the one to post spoilers, but that question will just have me laugh maniacally.

Messed up my post. But anyway, I didn't feel that my romance to previous Dragon Age characters was diminished by not talking about children, but I'm a little dissuaded that they said there would be no talk of marriage in this game.

Well... It's just a surprise is all. It's not bad. I could PM you if you like? There's a whole thread about it somewhere, too.

Oh I don't think the romances were lesser for not talking about kids I just would have liked to be able to talk about things like kids and marriage and other mundane stuff with companions is all, talking about things like that to me just makes them feel more real if that makes any sense. But it doesn't lesser them for me at all.

Depends is this enraging? Cause if I'm better off not knowing I'd like to stay in my little bubble of innocence if thats alright :)

(though I have no idea how it would be enraging with a character being a half breed unless its a major retcon I suppose)

That does make sense. I wonder if who cooks dinner will at least be a point of conversation. Do you think Bull has had to use a fire while on the road? I mean, Sten and the other qunari didn't seem to have a hanger-on who'd do the "women's work."

No, nothing like that. It was just a debated topic for a while after The Calling was released.

I remember that from the tower. I still wonder how someones cooking can be so bad that their bread can be mistaken for stew o.o; I also kind of hope for some banter about mundane things like that, like the cooking banter between Alistair and Lielana*sp* Something tells me that Iron Bull been's living off tavern food a lot recently

Ah alright well if you want to PM me it or point me in the direction of the thread if you like :)

Edit: Never mind someone else told me.
