Solas lover here. I do think Iron Bull has a better chance at LI than Grey Warden. I can't see GW due to his apparent age. Although an older LI would be awesome and different. I don't see them going that route unless we will have more LIs than normal. I could be wrong!
If Fancy mustache guy is the human LI and Solas is the Elf LI. That's two mages. (Unless FM is not a mage, who knows) So they might not do that either. It's all up in the air folks. We might not of even meet the LIs yet. There was a recent screen shot of a giant that had a rogue dressed in green with duel daggers, a goatee and a bandana. He could be someone.
I'm banking on Solas, but I do hope for the IB fans that IB is at least a love interest for Qunari inquisitors. Like Varric only being for dwarfs LI theory. They could go that route.
Either way, I think Iron Bull and my female elf inquisitor rogue will get along really well. Even if her Bald elven lover gets upset she gave IB his pants to try on.
Seriously, someone needs to draw Iron Bull either trying on Solas' pants or wearing them on his horns. I will pay all the Internet cookies.

Some reason that Iron Bull has a better chance than Beard Warden because of BW's age. Others say that BW has a better chance than IB because IB isn't human.

 

Some people cite clear patterns in LI's from previous games(Human male, elf male) to rule out Iron Bull; others point out that given that none of the male companions fit the Bioware/Dragon Age mold for LI's, they may be throwing previous patterns out the window on this one.

 

It really is up in the air.

I totally agree. It's pure speculation and opinions at this point cause its all we can do. When we learn more, I know looking back I'm going to more than likely face palming at my own theories. Already have in a few. Lol.

I doubt we'll have two LIs of the same class and gender. I personally think that we'll have Dorian and Varric - a Human male and fan favourite Dwarf. Both Beard Warden and Solas seem a bit older than the rest, Solas especially, which sort of puts them on the lower end of perceived desirability

 

I really hope I'm wrong and Iron Bull is indeed the other LI but given his more Ohgren-like (so far) personality I don't suppose BioWare sees much potential.

 

Although who knows, DA:O had four LIs, DA2 had five. Maybe the number will keep increasing and most everyone will get what they want.

The thing I'm seeing as separating Iron Bull from Oghren is that Oghren was a barely functional alcoholic; I'm seeing Iron Bull as just more the type who knows how to party, without also being a filthy washout.

The picture of the nine thought to be companions, I saw no reason they can't all be LIs. They're of age, not animals, and unlikely to be the inquisitor's family. It's possible the devs have seen how much we want nontraditional LIs and acted accordingly. Or one of the nine is an npc. We're bouns to meet an npc sooner or later, not everyone they show us has to be a companion. Maybe it's Nathaniel on his calling, Stroud, or even Alistair and rhe taint darkened his hair. It wouldn't surprise me if the devs saw how much a qunari or dwarf LI was wanted and went back and wrote one.

Solas looks young to me. Not sure why people think he's older. That's just my opinion though on the screen shots. He could be over 900 from all we know. Ha!

Agreed, I see him being social and generally liked amongst the men, cant say the same about those who came in contact with Oghren

If a qunari can become Inquisitor then i think its pretty reasonable to believe that one could gain a good reputation amongst the soldiers he fights with

Oghren is actually one of my favorite companions, but I would like to see the archetype played straight instead of be so brutally deconstructed.

 

Main point is I don't see Iron Bull ever being so drunk that he looses a wrestling match against a roasted nug.

Inquisitor can be a toad for all we like, he just needs a true story to make us believe it. He's a protagonist. But don't extend this leniency upon his followers. Generally Qunari is not welcomed (or at least wary of) at all to the south of Seheron.

Then why is he the leader of a mercenary group? I dont see how its so unbelievable to think that this one qunari can be liked among familiar faces. You say generally yet stretch that generalization to this one person.
