You guys yourselves talked about IB leaving the Qun for the sake of his relationship with the Inquisitor. This is an ultimatum. A selfish one as well. I get it that you folk dislike the Qun, but either accept IB as a qunari (or qunari-lite or whatever), or don't even bother. Since it seems he won't just let anyone harass him for being one. And that's great because the amount of people in this fandom who wishes they could change their favourite characters' religious beliefs (Cassandra, Iron Bull, Lelianna etc), sexualities (straight, bi or gay) and mindsets (Anders) is just disturbing

 

Okay, once again, I'm done with you because you are just making things up now.

1.)  I have never said that I dislike the Qun.  In fact, I find it fascinating and want to know more about it.

2.)  I have never said that he must leave the Qun for the sake of his relationship.  I said that I could see him having to choose since the Qun, as far as we know about it, doesn't allow for romances of love.

3.)  I have never said that I want to change his mind about his religion.  I said that I could see him  having to choose, but have never said anything (and repeatedly stated this) about the PC forcing a change.

 

Have a wonderful time arguing with people who aren't trying to argue.  Yet another conversation on the BSN that degrades into insults due to ideological differences instead of calm conversation about the characters.  Yay......

I just talked about it as a potential option of his choosing, leaving it as his choice doesn't make it an ultimatum though. I'll never demand anything. I think it's within one's right to also choose for themselves what they wish to do after the other's choice is made, though. Anyway, sorry if you've gotten upset over the topic. I really don't like debates that turn into arguing and I don't want it to happen to this one. It's just a clash in personal opinions that will go around in circles forever, most likely. :/

1) Then rejoice for he is a qunari. A qunari-lite, as you said, but a qunari anyway

2) You pretty much wrote about only this option and no other. Like, let's say, him continuing being a qunari and not abandoning his beliefs and loving the Inquisitor. A scenario in which we could potentially manipulate him into abandoning the Qun just because it forbids a sexual romance is bullshit. He already breaks majority of the Qun rules yet still considers himself a qunari. Why would this relationship change anything? Why should it? 

3) You repeatedly tried to prove such a terrible choice. Love or beliefs, geez, this is not cruel at all, is it?

Him being forced to make such a choice would be cruel. For a player to want, for an author to write. And all the terrible implications as well... 

I guess I'm sick of people thinking that religious beliefs/sexuality/political views/etc are some kind of gloves which you can change any day of any week. These things are important and should be treated this way. Too many people already thinking about convincing Cassandra to abandon the Chantry and Iron Bull - the Qun.

The good thing about Iron bull abandoning his belief system though is that he would no longer even arguably be Qunari, which is good considering my opinions of those...beings.

I hate it when people say that, I've read a lot of books that were then turned into movies or Tv shows and I don't tell peoples to read the books if they don't won't to be spoiled by what I'm saying/writing because that's just not fair to them. And some people don't like reading (which is sad), but there is also that.

 

Besides I'm one of those weird people that doesn't like reading the book while I'm in the middle of watching something.  I might go back at a later date to see what was left out, but I never read the book while I'm watching the show if I started the show first. (if that makes any sense) Plus I just hate finding out anything about what's happened or how a show ended, eg Heros I only watched 6 or so eps in the 1st season and still avoid all spoilers because I might watch it again.

 

So please and thanks again peoples.

Won't give spoilers but if you're talking about the Heroes I think your talking about I wouldn't recommend going back to it, it got really weird really fast. (and not in a good way but this is just my opinion)

I encourage people to read the actual product by the author rather then HBO's take on it.

As have i and i will genuinely state the Book is the better medium here.

 

Also it isn't fair? I don't have just as much right to type as you do? I don't censor other people because sometimes what they write isn't what i wish to see and then confront them on it as some matter of common courtesy.
