I don't get a Zevran vibe from him (aka he likes talking about sex), I think he just enjoys having sex.  Unfortunately this is based on nothing much at all as we haven't heard him speak much.     The FPJ video where we get the quote of him saying "You two just work that out...like poison. Really weird poison." didn't seem to indicate him to be the type to leer and waggle his eyebrows.  At least, that's presuming he was referring to sexy-times.

Be interesting if they comment.  For Bull it would have to be a pretty large shield; not sure if it was addressed that the weapons/shields also change appearance per the assigned character, like the clothes?

 

I like the look of him with a huge 2hander too much to switch it up myself.  When I get around to romancing him with my m!Qunari (my first playthrough he'll be with a f!human) I plan on making them warrior twins, with me as the sword & board.

So is it bad that what's making me consider an eventual Bull romance is the idea of a young non-mage Trevelyan taking one look at him, seeing everything the family would hate, and deciding to rebel as hard as she can?

Probably not possible to do but I would love to have a reluctant love with Iron Bull. I don't know why but I'm very amused and intrigued by the idea of my Inquisitor being reluctant to admit any feeling they may have for him when they first start bubbling up and getting angry at herself and him before giving in to the desire.

I agree, I'd like something like that. Usually we only really get one way to approach a romance (besides the friend and rivalmances) so that would be a cool thing to have.

My plan is to have my Cadash fall in love with him, but they are going to just be flirty friends at first. Not that I'm planning on it, but I wonder if it's possible to have a completely casual romance, where you are friends who have sex exclusively, but you never quite fall in love? Some relationships are like that in RL.

That would be interesting. But they kind of did that with Zev and Morrigan, no? Of course, those two wanted to call it off when they knew they were getting too serious. But to actually have one that only went that far... I'm not sure BW would go that route. There's the brothels for that though I haven't heard anything about one being in DAI. It would be intriguing to see if they provide that path though.

My worry about him is another relationship like that.  Especially with him being in the Qun.  I'm not sure you can have a serious relationship with him, and that's scarey for me, and makes me nervous about romancing him.

Even if Bull is along the same path, I think it would rather fit and work out just fine. I'm not sure why you would be nervous about that? Is your fear that it will only be friends with bennies type of relationship? I don't see Patrick Weekes doing that.

One of the things that is attracting me to his romance arc so much actually is wanting to know how he'll deal with the taboo of a romantic relationship since it's not allowed in the Qun.

I doubt they'd count any casual fling as a romance. It would be referred to as one of the flirt options instead.

That doesn't mean that all romances are the same, but that in completed romances all LIs will end up in love with the PC in their own special way.

I really really really doubt that if Iron Bull was only a fling they would say he's a romance AND bother to go through all the trouble to make him ungated. No clue on what kind of romance he's going to be but I really doubt it'll be only a fling.

This is the conclusion we all usually reach every time this subject is brought up. Will there be an option to keep things casual? Don't know, but I wouldn't bet against it. Is the romance itself -- at it's core -- going to be a just a casual thing? I highly doubt it.

I wonder if IB would still want to be with you if you don't want to have sex with him. I think it'd be cool if he was the kind of character who enjoys sex but doesn't need to have sex to love someone.

Once again this is based on nothing substantial at all, but I hypothesize the IB romance going two ways.

 

The James Bond description, to me, could go either way:  1) He's a free-spirit with struggles from his past who likes to have fun but is weary of tying emotions to someone, OR 2) he's a seasoned man that knows what he wants and is unafraid to state it...even if it exposes a potential vulnerability.

 

I'm personally hoping for option #2, where he's super mature about the whole thing and, since he knows what he wants and doesn't care what other people think, the second he believes his feelings go deeper than friends he is the first to confess his feelings, the first to propose something more serious between the two of you, etc etc - this could leave the opportunity open for your Quizzie to get cold feet and he has to pursue her/him a bit to win them over.  

 

However, I also see this as potential for a Blackwall romance...  I may as well bang my head on a wall at this point and see what other theories can fall out.
