Additionally, since Salit is already Tal vashoth when we meet him, that might not be his role, but an actual chosen name.

Yeah. :( I really want to know his name.

We might even find out more of his names. If I'm not mistaken, he had another role before he developed his fear of demons? Unless I just pulled that out of my arse. So we could find out more roles.

Well he was part of the Ben-Hassrath so he could have another name, as for finding out his true name, I dunno, his name within the qunari if it's not Iron Bull would be interesting. Though in truth I think that situation would be like Fenris or perhaps that he should be just addressed as Bull as that's (again his title in the qun wasn't iron bull) what he decided to call himselfXD That's my opinion anyhowXD

/sigh It seems half the time Iron Bull is mentioned people are complaining about his being a stereotype. Now, I know bisexual who likes casual sex is a trope and is often written very poorly but we haven't met Bull to judge on the second and bisexuals like that do exist and there's nothing wrong with them. I can't help getting a bit disheartened when I keep hearing "oh no, not again" and other very negative things as if the only acceptable bi character would be one who only has sex in committed relationships or something. I suppose it's the same feeling butch lesbians must have when people say they don't want another butch stereotype (not in DA, as we haven't had those). It's like you're doing your sexuality wrong by not staying miles away from the stereotype, like your representation is unwanted.

I have a question:

Since Iron Bull is surely not his real qunari name/role and he is an agent of the Ben Hassrath...

Is Iron Bull (a) Tallis?

And what if he meets another Tallis (like Tallis)? What do they call each other?

I thought the devs said that among each other, qunari sometimes use nicknames based on something that's like their social security numbers( the thing they're called in official papers and whatnot so documents don't say "Sten was penalized today for unprovokedly attacking sten, sten intervened and now sten is in custody")

or maybe I'm misremembering

That sounds about right from what I am remembering as well.

Maybe Iron Bull is that nickname/name for him, because he's huge, tough, and has horns like a bull. That would mean that we are getting his "real" name.

Maybe his SSN in qunlat sounds just like the words for iron and bull

Thank you, it's nice to hear someone point that out. And in IB's case, there seems to be logical story reasons as well related to being qunari.

Do you think Bull and Isabela would get along due to there similar personalities or do you think Isabela's past dealings with the Qunari would sour the relationship?

I usually get a long with people just like me, but i had a spanish teacher in highschool who was like a mirror image of my personality and we hated each other.... it was weird....

On the isabella thing, i dont think she would get along well with him, i mean it says even varric has hang ups with bull after the events at kirkwall, isabella (according to comics) has an even deeper hatred cause it involves her mother.

*sigh* Well there goes my threesome dream out the window lol. I'm sure the Varric/IB friendship will be rocky like the Isabella/Aveline friendship but I'm sure Varric will come around in the end, it is Varric for crying out loud not Anders 2.0.

This does make me wonder if Varric will say anything to a qunquisitor or will we be able to defend Bull during those conversations.

Hello fellow IB lovers!

Is it bad I keep accidentally calling IB Garrus? I see a lot of similarities between the two.

Care to share some of the similarities you see? I'm curious. :)

I'm curious myself since I don't see it. I see Varric as the "Garrus" of the group.

I see IB more like a cross between Wrex and Vega then Garrus, but I can sort of see the similarities between Varric and Garrus. Hmm..

I think people are just disappointed to see the trope repeated a third time. And when your choices are already limited, it gets a little frustrating, maybe because you were hoping for a different "kind" of romance this time... Not that you genuinely have a problem with people who enjoy casual sex.

I mean, we're talking about idealized romances that people can role-play in, not passing judgment on real life people, never that :) and most people, when they envision a romantic storyline, the love interest is devoted to him/her, takes intimacy seriously, considers him/her "special" ... It's a fantasy you understand ^^

Actually I've reconsidered; I'm seeing more of an Isabela/Wrex combo :P

Isabela: free-spirited, loves dirty jokes, captain of her crew
Wrex: powerful but smart, cares about his people, loves battle

I think those treats could all be applied to Bull.

I see a lot of my favorite characters in Bull -- Isabela (free spirit), Varric and Garrus (good sense of humor, best friend potential), Wrex (true warrior). Basically what everyone has been saying. It's probably why I've been so interested in him from the start.

I know him and Varric are supposed to start off a bit rocky, but I can see them becoming good friends later on. Varric may have become a bit hardened from the events in Kirkwall, but I think he will still have the ability to understand that just because he's Qunari, it doesn't mean he's like all the others he's encountered. It just might take a little bit of time. ^_^

Lol I guess this meana I'm 2 out of 3 when it comes to romancing the "free spirit" characters. Zevran wasn't appealing to me at all for a romancable companion and compared to Leliana he couldn't compete in my eyes. Now that I think about Leliana can be thrown into this group as well lol. And sadly I'm one of those "free spirit" as well.......lol.

I guess us birds of a feather stick together.

Okay fellow IB fans, I need to ask this question because it's been on my mind for the longest time. Is dwarf tossing a thing in this game in combat? I just feel like this would be a fanastic addition.

Ahh, Gilmi. Not as good as my Thorin but still one of my favorite dwarves. But honestly I hope IB can toss dwarves and elves in combat. Make it happen Bioware!  ;)
