I'm pretty sure those two fingers are curled under to hold onto the pouch of gold he has in the picture, and I also don't think a dev would lie to us about him not missing any fingers.

I just figured it was the art style, shrugged, and moved on. You can tell in other pictures and see in the demos that have him in it that he appears to be "whole."

It'd be cool if they talked about anything with Iron Bull besides sex, IMO....it's making it seem like that's the only noteworthy thing about him. I mean I know there have been other kinds of comments here or there, but...it feels excessive? Idk

I feel the same , I mean he's supposed to be Qunari , and a Qunari with a crisis of faith...

And all we have is Ride The Bull over and over.

If he was a female character , people would be offended by now.

 

Now hey I don't mind some jokes about it , but it feels like people are promoting a rollercoaster ride and not a character. ^^

Hahaha, yes. I am definitely for some jokes. Ride the Bull was really funny to me at first, but it just feels like he's being talked about in a much shallower way than the rest of them. Maybe it's to avoid spoilers? But I don't think other facets of his personality would be a spoiler!

I'm still excited to meet him, he seems like a cool dude.

Here's my personal favorite (that I used a few days ago in the twitter thread ):

He's a powerful Qunari warrior who has PTSD, according to Patrick Weekes. That alone is screaming a lot of potential, to me at least. Based on what we know of his personality, I think that how he deals with it is through such over the topness, such vivaciousness. I know he likes sex, a lot, but to me, that's sort of a gateway to his character. I think it's hilarious how the devs and others joke around about him, but at the same time, I do know that there's a lot more to him.

 

Veeia, I do think that in some sense, that to go deeper into his personality would be kind of spoilers for his arc. I believe that we won't be able to really learn more about him till we hear his story in person, come November.

Hrmmm....It might be the fact that he does have a trauma narrative that makes me ...I don't know, I'm not repulsed by the sex stuff, maybe just...a little put off? Maybe I'm worried about a repeat of Isa/Zev, who were both characters that went through a lot of traumatic things and Isa in particular is often reduced to a sex joke and rarely is attention drawn to other parts of her. Either way, I'm just kind of grumbling about this, it's not a big deal. IB, at least from what we know so far, is not dealing with sexual trauma, so that does make things different! Maybe now that I've parsed that out, it will bother me less.

Yeah, it's just something non-spoilery that amuses the devs so they talk about it. Other characters get a lot less mentions because they don't seem to have many non-spoilery things to say, except mentioning they look good or something like that.

In all honesty, if he has as much depth as Isabela, I will be overjoyed. Isabela is probably one of the most underrated companions, but her character and dialogue is so goddamn powerful. She, Alistair, and Morrigan are my top 3 companions.

 

And as far as the nature of the trauma, considering how much we hear he hates demons, maybe his last mission as Ben-Hassrath back at home had something to do with demonic entities.

You get some info from Zevran if he meets her in Origins, but for people just playing 2, you get one line of dialogue in banter with Bethany:

Bethany: What were you before you were a pirate?
Isabela: I had a husband. He didn't beat me, that's about the best I can say about it.
Bethany: So you left him?
Isabela: He was murdered. By my lover. It was all very... Antivan.
Bethany: Oh. I don't think I'd like to live in Antiva.

Eh, he's really the only companion that's had much of a sex focus. Personally, I'm happier if there's at least one hypersexual companion, like Zevran or Isabela. I can relate to them more easily.

It's not everyone's cup of tea, for sure. But the Merrill and Alistair types aren't my cup of tea, so it's good to cover the spectrum.

psh, this was expected listening to the banter between Sten and Morrigan. i remember mention for the need of a helmet, armor, and a pry bar! (kidding)

i agree that he probably has much more to him . and with mr. weekes as his writer, i have no doubts he will be an awesome character. : P

(he will probably be my li eventually, but dorian had dibs on my first five playthroughs. dat stache. )
