Well, you can choose to not hire him. You might be able to kill him at some point, but I don't think anyone knows for sure right now except the people who made the game.
Which reminds me, today I came across people going as far as saying they don't want to hire Bull because of his looks, what the ****? xD I didn't think Sten was a looker, but that didn't really cross my mind before I decided to let him out of his cage and join me. Do people really care that much about looks? There are many other actual legit reasons for not hiring people, like I can understand the people who are wary because he's a spy... but that just... I don't even know.

So, you're going to send your underlings to kill him because you feel intimidated by him and want to be seen as the best? If that's the case... You're going to have to kill nearly everyone in Thedas to be the toughest guy around xD

Are you going to kill all of your other companions too, then? I mean I know Bull is a big guy but that's not the only thing that makes someone tough. He wouldn't be your only competition. ![]()

I will miss him, even without knowing him, because I doubt he'll stick around my first playthrough when I tell him to shove his spy network somewhere unsanitary. So what about dat Iron Bull everyone?

Then I will romance him with a mage elf and all will be better.

Aw, that will make it better! It's cool that you're not letting your interest in the character get in the way of roleplaying how you want to. ![]()
I hadn't really thought about it yet, but I do have a character who might react similarly. My Cadash doesn't have time to deal with that crap, so she'll probably laugh and tell him to get lost. Not my first playthrough, but it will be interesting to see what happens when I get there.

(: Why thank you. And haha! The character I referred to is a Fem!Cadash as well.
However, it isn't just roleplaying how I'd like, I'll point out: My first playthrough (of Bioware games (with the exception of Origins) generally consists of decisions I think I will never make again, so that when I replay the game a million times afterwards, it'll be to explore aspects of the game I'd love, instead of trudging through content that might not interest me. However, I am also victim to having many playthroughs that are nearly identical - but the metagaming or roleplaying for each of them make them unique and special to me. (:
Do you suspect your first playthrough and Bull will get along well?

Oh wow, what an interesting idea! I have many playthroughs in both Origins and DA2 that are nearly the same, so I understand haha. That's a pretty clever way of helping to fix that problem so that you can still see all the content. I usually end up playing an 'opposite' character much later, after many files of me doing what I want instead, but those files often end up unfinished. XD Getting it out of the way first is something I had never thought about.
Bull is my first planned romance, so I'm really hoping he will get along with my female mage Trevelyan. I think their personalities will mesh pretty well, she's pretty outgoing and free-spirited like him, so I'm hoping I won't need to go out of character to get them together. My idea is that they will both be wavering a bit with their beliefs and will support and empathize with each-other about it. I'm planning her to be slightly pro-circle as it's all she's ever known, but considering what happens in the mage background story, she'll be rebelling from it a bit out of anger and start to really enjoy her life outside the circle and in freedom, similar to how Bull acts towards the Qun. The one problem I'll have though, is that she's not going to like the idea of what the Qun does to mages at all, so we'll see how that works out. xD Can't have my romance without some drama.

Mass Effect 3 spoilers / depression:
Luckily decisions in the Dragon Age games have always been easier to justify I think. I've never had to reload, and could live with the choices even if I disagreed with them ... but I'm really expecting this game to be different. Like, if the game's like, either work with Iron Bull or execute him I'm going to be like ... @_@ Never again. I'll deal with it / him in future playthroughs.
Your Trevelyan is similar to my planned Lavellan, where her comfort zone will simply be with the People instead of the Circle. Considering Bull's aversion to demons, I'm very curious to see if he supports the Qunari's treatment of mages and how much that ideal would have to change for him to have a romance arc (which we know he does, and we know is not class-gated, so something will have to happen). People bring up his acceptance of Cole to say that he'll obviously be accepting, but I would see this as two different things. Assumedly, he doesn't want to bed Cole ... even with him wanting to bed everyone, I feel that he'll recognize what the writers have been trying to express about how child-like / alien the Fade-being is.
All speculation. But fun. (:
Edited so that I didn't say the word though a million times.

I really, really hope Iron Bull/Dorian is canon if neither is romanced.

Well, he has a bizarrely tiny head. I'm sure some people would be unsettled by it.
And if I could turn down companions and their content, I'd be fine with Iron Bull... but I just bloody can't, I have to know what his plot and what he's about. I never kill any companions either.

I am really interested to see what Bull is all about. His relationship with my first Inquisitor could go in so many different ways.
They could end up being lovers and best friends, to a love-hate relationship, to bitter rivals and (if possible) death for Bull.
It all depends on how deep his loyalty is to the Qun, and whether or not he is able to let go of his ties to the Qun and pledge full loyalty to the Inquisition. Gah, the myriad of possibilities and the complete uncertainty of whether or not my Inquisitor will get along with him is very interesting. Bull is in a unique spot among the companions for me.
Can't wait to see what happens.
