Yeah I'm gonna be pretty annoyed if Bull mainly just shows attraction to female characters, it felt so inappropriate in Origins when Zevran mentions to a male Warden who is romancing him that he actually prefers females (not too mention Anders clearly prefering females and the whole Kaidan situation). I hope it isn't the same for Bull, especially since him being attracted to males is pretty much ignored by the fandom as well (especially on Tumblr, I've noticed). 

 

Holy cow, if he is going to turn out like that, it will feel like someone has slapped me. Patrick Weekes said something in that gaymerx panel about Bull enjoying both genders equally, didn't he? He said that Bull will mention his sexual orientation at some point, even if you don't romance him.

I really hope he won't be exactly like Zevran concerning his sexuality. Zev's talk about his preference towards women felt so wrong and it made me feel so uncomfortable. It's as if they're scared to show too many sexually confident characters, that may seem "too gay for the cis white male". 

I really hope it's just FPJ's talk.

Yep I'm hoping FPJ just mentioned those two because he is straight (I think?) himself. I want Iron Bull to be clear about his sexuality and not have a preference for a change (or if he did, a preference for males since we haven't seen that before). I agree about Zevran, it was like they were trying to make him as least controversial as possible to not upset straight fans. I get that some polysexual people have preferences, but it felt soo inappropriate for Zevran to bring it up in conversation like that when romancing him as a male Warden.

Well, Zevran was my favourite companion in DA:O, it was just that little sentence about his preference for women, that rubbed me the wrong way. It left a bitter taste in my mouth, even after to romance arc was complete. I just don't understand why someone would say such a thing to their lover.

Yeah, had he just mentioned Viv, I would agree with you.  But he mentioned both Josephine and Vivienne.

Yes, it is natural for people to have preference for one gender over another.  Which is why it's odd that 5 out of 5 of the prior bisexual males all preferring females seemed a bit off.  Now, there's a possibility that the pansexual male also prefers females.  It would just be nice (and natural) to see one of them not to show this preference.

Nah, I understand that, but this is a game and not reality. For me, that scene felt really off and forced. It felt like some kind of excuse to remove the "gayness" from him. He's bisexual, so there is no need to remove his attraction to men, right? 

 

Lelianna was bisexual, too. For me, it seemed as if she preferred women more, but she didn't really say anything concerning that, didn't she? It was up for speculation and you could get some hints.

Zevran though had a freaking exclamation mark blinking over his head that said

"I like men. But it's not as if I don't like women! I love women! I like women even more than men actually! Don't forget that I prefer women!"

That scene was just so out of place for me, why would he even say that to a male warden? I would find that quite rude. I don't know, maybe it's just me, I just didn't like it. :/

Hmm, for some people it's like that but for others it isn't at all. Preferences encompass a lot of things beside gender. You can say you like short-haired women better than short-haired men and you like dark-haired men better than blonde women so it's not that clear cut.

Either way is perfectly natural. I don't have a preference, or at least not one strong enough for me to notice non-subconsciously, for example.

 

I think it was kinda strongly implied, even though never actually said out loud, that Leliana prefers women. Isabela never really shows a preference, you can grab several examples of her talking about both genders in banter/dialogue. But for the men, it's usually implied or even said out loud they prefer women. If you think about it... it becomes kinda clear this is catering to a straight male fanbase who often fully accept and even seek f/f content but get uncomfortable with m/m content. And that's not really fair to those who aren't in that group. If Isabela told me she loved me, but 'totally prefers men and stuff lol' while I was romancing her in DA2, that would have probably killed a lot of my love for that romance.

You know, I wasn't so keen on Iron Bull when I saw him in trailers, but in game graphics really changed my view on him. The smile is so much warmer, his eyes are brighter and he looks like he has paler skin tone than trailers. 

I'm beginning to like him more and more & not just cause he could carry me to bed on his shoulder.
