I, too, was one of those who was slightly worried about FPJ's voice here, but I'm really liking it now. Can't wait to see his romance scenes with another qunari.

What I'm wondering is if we can ask Bull about qunari relationships and sex without triggering a romance with him. I'm curious! And not interested! Just curious!

So I'm thinking we will be able to talk to him about not only that but probably the Qun/Qunari lifestyle in general, I doubt romance will be a prerequisite for it.

Just saw a little bit of... interraction between Bull and the Quizzy and I gotta say that Bull is freaking hillarious. 

Anyhow, that and that scene with the female dwarf leads me to believe he's nothing like Zevran or Bella not that it's something wrong with them, but it's just that. It feels like he's more open,and he's conversations are kinda cute, actually. I even say it's the Inquisitor who's been the pervy/kinky creep yet. And it's kinda funny.

Personal preference for IB's transgender friend: I hope they will be female to male. Purely because I can't name a single fictional male transgender character. And the one non-fictional character one isn't the happiest of stories. I'd still be happy with male to female though, I'm really pleased to hear this is in the game. Maybe we might even get the Qun's stance on transexuals?

I'd be truly surprised if it's positive or accepting, considering how strict the Qunari are about prescribed roles (gender or otherwise). Then again, I'm also surprised about the stance of Iranian clerics on transgender people. (still, as authoritarian as Iran is, I don't think its religious leaders are nearly as austere about sex and romantic love (among other things) as the Qun is, from what we know)

 

But the Qunari are often (IMO, far too often) counterintuitive and surprising, so who knows.

Just as myself, the player, I cannot wait to ask Bull about Qunari practices regarding love and romantic entanglements. I know that the Qun system does not allow for marriage or a family unit, but there's little to nothing about love. I know that they don't necessarily equate love with sex, but other than that, there's really no information. As much as I dislike what I know about the Qun, I am very interested as to how their society works in the non-military areas.

I remember commenting on something a while back, and that how, if Bull does have PTSD, bdsm can he a safe, healing way to bring him the sense of control some people who suffer from PTSD need.

 

If that does turn out to be the case, I am glad Bioware isn't shying from at least alluding to it.

I'm personally assuming something with demons. Which, minus the fact that a brutal-enough battle (or anything) can bring PTSD on its own, demons are capable of ripping entire control away from you in a very literal sense.

 

I can't imagine how terrifying that would be in person, but as someone who is coping with their own PTSD, the idea of it quite literally makes me shudder.

Didn't FPJ also record like three, eight-hour sessions for Bull's romance? Or something like that. Regardless, he spent a lot of time recording romance lines. That doesn't strike me as a 'casual sex' type romance, although I'm inclined to believe it's an option for people who don't want something deeper.

I think you hit it on the nose there. I believe Bull gives you an out because I think that's all he's used to. He's not experienced with someone actually giving him the love and care he needs, and wants.

Since I am leaning towards Iron Bull for my first romance playthrough I am really hoping it is in the same vein as Isabela and Zevrans and not on the light/casual side completely.

If there was a way that we all recorded our first reactions to that romance scene I think we all would have laughed at each other. I was watching the video outside of my job & was rather vocal in my response. Sweet Andraste he actually said..."Ride the Bull." I'm trying not to scream in excitement right now. Corny lines by damned! About 90% or more of the come on lines out there are corny bit that scene though..... I loved how he towers over the Inquisitor. Maker that is so hot! Then when you're against the wall and his hand was on the right side of your head while he leaned in. The dominance in that stance.....I almost forgot how to breathe when I was that. Then that line that the inquisitor said! I woild totally say something like that in that situation but then he just took you......****!!!!!

I need to take an ice bath but right now I don't think that is going to help me right now. As for elements of BDSM I could see that in this romance. For the Master there is a comfort in knowing that the slave will be there & that they trust you. My hypothesis is that the big guy feels like an outcast not only to the qun but outside as well. The qun doesn't waste anything even after they are no longer needed. Maybe giving the Bull the reins will the control that he wants & maybe needs and he can help the Inquisitor let go occasionally.

Well that is my take on it anyway. If I said anything spoiler related I'm sorry I'm not at my computer and I typed this in quite a hurry lol.

That's interesting. My first reaction when I saw him was...what in the world did they do to the Qunari!? He doesn't look anything like the Qunari in DA 2. I guess this is another evolution of what races look like, similar to how they changed between Origins and 2?

 

Personally, I preferred them as they appeared in 2. Making them so human-looking almost defeats the purpose of making them a different species to begin with in my book.

That act of letting go & putting your trust in someone else knowing that you'll be okay. That could work to but if that happens maybe that would be later on in the romance.
