I wonder what that dialogue option "Please don't leave" is all about. Like, I like you, but I don't want sex, yet?

 

Sounds more like the "not so sexually forward" option to me; AKA where your Quizzie invites him to proceed, but without the pervy eyebrow waggling of the other option.

 

EDIT - and I'm really, really sad to do this but it seems I need to bow out of the forums early.  The live streamers are ruining all chances of me avoiding (what I consider) plot & character-centric spoilers.     It was fun hanging with you!

Is a sexually intimate love scene with Iron Bull very important to many players who romance him? I know it'd be unfair, with the knowledge that there are sex scenes showing various characters' "assets", but in the end, is seeing IB half naked that important? 

 

Plus, he's already half-naked.

I want a romantic love scene eventually, but nudity isn't important to me. As long as I can progress it past just a fling I'll be happy.

As a Qunari, Iron Bull has lived a very different life from your other party members. Before hooking up with the Inquisition, this Ben-Hassrath agent was the one the Qunari sent in when things were getting out of control, though he is more focused on spy work when you meet him. He revels in his strength, but he doesn't need his ego stroked. Instead, he prefers to take a more relaxed approach to things. He lives a life as big as his body, indulging in food, alcohol, and casual sex. Iron Bull isn't the guy you go to for romance; he's the one you go to if you want to let off some steam. In the end, he's just looking for people he can depend on and have a laugh with, which is great if you need a break from the chaos around you.

So I was just browsing Tumblr (a dangerous pastime, I know) and I came across a single post that said apparently you can't romance Bull as a qunari mage. I don't believe this to be true, but it still puts some concern in my mind seeing as how I was planning on romancing him with a qunari mage. I would hate to make my mage, get halfway through the game, and then have Bull turn me down. 

 

Has anyone else heard of this?

I don't think you have anything to fear. I don't have a link, but I believe the devs have said multiple times that there is no class gating.

I'm pretty sure Bioware said only race can exclude romances not class....I hope so anyway as I'll be in the same boat.

Fairly significant plot spoiler about a different plot point that might be the source of the confusion.  Read at your own risk:

Apparently you meet Sten (now the Arishok) in the game and you can convince him to ally with the Inquisition......unless you are a qunari mage, in which case he refuses to trust you.  I suspect that this might be the confusion.
