Yes, more romantic Bull dialogue. In fact more romantic dialogue for everyone but especially Bull as he's a big softie and a big romantic sap under all that dragon hunting merc front.

It would be adorable. Bull isn't too touchy-feely, but I can see him getting all squirmy when he tries to explain to the Quizzie that he was worried about them, or that he loves them. In private he's fine, but in public? No.

It would also be AWESOME if there was a character that constantly hit on the Quizzie and he got super jelous.

How to get one over on Iron Bull 101. The only thing missing that would have made it perfect would have been, if Krem found out and had a field day with it as you now he would never let Bull live it down.

Could someone please explain the Iron Bull's initial romantic dialogue to me? Because I'm unexpectedly upset with it. So Bull seems to be saying that the Inquisitor needs someone to be in charge in the bedroom, to feel safe. With "katoh" as a safe word, and all the warnings beforehand, it implies very rough sex. And the way he said he'll stop (the romance) once "katoh" is said, it implies there's only ONE way to go about it. But I don't need a dominatrix. I want to be equals. I don't need someone to "TAKE ME."

 

Later, if I said could you be anything else, he said no, that it would be disrespectful to what I need but no hard feelings if it doesn't work for me. That's what he thinks I need. Since when is he an expert at romance? And when I said so (the other mutually exclusive option), that he had it wrong, he says the same thing!

 

So... no matter what, you're still gonna be that dominatrix? The unyielding top? Regardless of what I believe I need? If, provided, that it was only a fling, fine. But if we were in a committed relationship?

 

In the second sex scene, after proving my committment with the dragon tooth necklace, he felt the need to say "he's been the one taking it?" With female Inquisitors, I felt a bit uncomfortable. But with male Inquisitors, it comes across as even more dominating.

 

If I talk with him about our relationship after the necklace, he says "You're the boss. But you must get something out of this. If you didn't, you wouldn't have hunted down that dragon's tooth." He doesn't understand, does he? That something is Bull. Not his domination in the bedroom.

 

I just couldn't get pass that. Right after he said "no hard feelings," before the second sex scene, I felt the mighty need to say "katoh." Needless to say, I'm beyond disappointed.

 

Unless I'm mistaken, I think I'm going to move on to Dorian. Katoh.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way ;( Admittedly, I don't think there is another way to "go about" Iron Bull's romance; I don't think that he gives up the whole dom thing, though he doesn't reference it as often later on in the romance and whatnot. It gets a lot more sweet the further you go in, from what I remember atleast. But yeah, some people might not like the sub-positioning and whatnot, while others will. I'm sorry it disappointed you though!

The way I see it, after a full playthrough of this game: Bull is a Qunari who follows/followed the Qun, as much as his lifestyle goes against it, you can still heavily see a lot of his thinking was influenced by growing up under that society. He believes that anything with power needs to be controlled so it doesn't go wild. (and when applying this to the Inquisitor, so they don't get overly stressed) I don't think he means anything offensive by this, I honestly just think this is something that is ingrained in him, a part of how he is, something that really separates him as a Qunari rather than human, elf, or dwarf. If you listen to his conversation with you after slaying a dragon, you can really make some connections with this and understand how he feels about it.

 

I think it's a good thing he's very understanding that if the Inquisitor doesn't want this, it's okay. It's just what he is offering and what he thinks is something they could use to relax from the stress of being a leader all the time. Also, listening to banter in the game brings to light that while he says he's "in control", he isn't really. He's actually the one listening to orders and doing what the Inquisitor wants him to do. The loss of control is pretty much only an illusion, the 'binding' is there but he would never do anything they didn't want. He just wants them to, for just a moment, have the burden of always having to be the one with everything on their shoulders disappear. 

 

Saying "katoh" wouldn't end the relationship. He explains that's the word you're supposed to say when you want to stop the sexual activity, not the entire romance. It's there to make sure nobody gets uncomfortable.

 

In my opinion, this may change after the Inquisitor doesn't need to be the Inquisitor anymore, and doesn't have that leadership role anymore. But that's just a guess, I have no clue and no clue if any more will be said about it later on in any later content or such.

 

Yeah, this kind of relationship is not something everyone will like, and his character seems to know that pretty well, which is why he gives so many warnings and so many chances to call it off. I think it was done well for the most part, except I wish they had him be less vague about what it was exactly before the first sex scene happened. But hey, if you feel your Inquisitor doesn't want this, don't do it. It's perfectly understandable, I think everyone would agree.

I have absolutely no idea what compelled me to do this. I'm in the middle of a Solasmance, yet this popped into my head and I figured maybe it satisfies a demand of the Qun.

I don't think it was meant to seem like it would be extremely violent sex... I mean, there might be an aspect of that, but I thought the rules were mostly just stated so the Quizzie would know that Bull would do nothing without permission. It might not include pain at all, or be very mild pain, and be mostly about just sexual teasing and, ah, coiling the springs, so to speak. And it might not be about tying the Quizzie down either, just about putting control into another person's hands for a while and trusting them when the Quizzie is most vulnerable.

This might not pacify you- if you don't like it, you don't like it- but I don't think it was at all meant to come off like the Bull is a super-aggressive, sexually violent person. I personally headcanon that there's no pain involved (because I personally do not like pain at all), and that it instead revolves around control and trust. And also a lot of foreplay to build up tension lol.

Ribbons are pretty soft and nonthreatening and I just got a banter between Varric and Bull where Varric procured for him some thing difficult to find in southern Thedas, and Bull is super excited about it - it turns out to be cocoa. He also thinks that pink is a pretty color for an axe lol. You can headcannon most of the bedroom stuff how you want, but Bull's kind of a big softie inside.

I did the same. Have a save right before the final mission, for when I want to do all the things to complete that playthrough lol. I plan on doing that with all my playthroughs I think.

Yeah, I'm finding lots of stuff I missed out on since I kinda semi-rushed my first game. I hope I can cure this darn banter bug though, I've gone back and still get barely anything when walking around. x(

Hello Iron Bull Thread!

 

Just wanted to drop by for two things:

 

1) How much I love Iron Bull, hands down one of my favorite Bioware characters. He's just such a pleasant surprise~!!!!

2) Did you guys see the Kotaku 'Shop Contest? I thought it was hilarious, especially since I love this particular scene so much!

Bull and Blackwall have some pretty good banter as well, Bull says that he thinks Blackwall would be a good addition to the Chargers, and says that they're fun, they have no-pants Fridays

Alright guys I got this headcanon with Bull and Krem that I need to share with someone, but none of my friends have played Inquisition yet so here it goes:

 

I'm picturing this happening in the early days of the Chargers, or at least well before Inquisition. Now I don't know a lot about Krem's character or when he decided on his gender, but this headcanon assumes he used to struggle with it, and Bull helped him figure out who he was. Also, bear with me because it's kinda long:

 

Krem: I don't think I'm man enough for this, chief

Bull: What? Wait, what? What the **** was that, Krem?

Krem: Never mind.

Bull: No, **** that. What did you just say to me, Krem?

Krem: I said I don't think I'm man enough, alright?

Bull: What, don’t think you’re… Alright Krem, listen to me. Look at me, Krem. You’re the manliest man I know, what are you talking about? You’ve got more man in your finger than most people have in their bodies.

Krem: But what if I’m not supposed to be a man?

Bull: This again? Alright, Krem. Well, do you think you should be a man?

Krem: I…

Bull: Krem, I need you to answer. Do you feel like a man?

Krem: I… yes. I do.

Bull: Alright. Good.

Krem: But what if I shouldn’t be?

Bull: I don’t give a **** about "should" or "shouldn’t". You are a man, Krem, there’s no should about it.

Thanks.  I don't know if these two things are related, but I also never get comments from other companions at skyhold about the romance as well. Watching other people's Youtube videos shed light on that! Oh, and Krem was bugged in my file so I never got to hear him talk about Bull and I, but that line was cute haha. I love that guy. Every time I walked into Skyhold's tavern he was standing up on his chair for me. XD Was kinda amusing.
