Oh no worries, I'm doing it. :D Which characters should I use? I would try everyone, but I dunno if my skills are good enough for that, so I'm thinkin' 3-4 peeps? Snugglin' up on Bull who's sorta like "wut?" ahahaha.

My vote is for Josephine and Cole not sure about the third maybe the Inquisitor. After doing Iron Bull's romance I got a feeling Josephine is a little qunari curious

Just finished the last romance scene with Bull and the feeling that was nagging me throughout the whole game kind of came to a head.

Spoiler

In the end I just couldn't enjoy it.

About time we started the brawl to the death over him. In case everyone in here forgot I said he was mine first! Everyone in here was like "oh lets share him, he's big enough!" Well I don't share! He said he loved ME! He said I was BEAUTIFUL! He left a love bite on my neck (and various other places). It is time everyone runs to Cullen now.

Also all you pansy mages don't have NOTHING on a Champion. We NEVER fall! So bring......it......on...

Run to Cullen? But he's so vanilla. :P Yeah, he's cute and all or whatever. I bet he'd like my Inquisitor's pet zombies. Which reminds me... I really wish I got zombies. What were we talking about again?

Zombies & a more aggressive Cullen would have been awesome but oh well. The spirit mark ability was fun though.

I think the Cullen romance is good for what it's meant to achieve. A knight in shining armor happily ever after type of thing, it's sweet. I have to admit though, after I had Isabela, I've been attracted to the more mischievous types. Totally her influence.

Quick question, what are people's opinions of Iron Bull's romance? I haven't done it so no spoilers please.

At the 2:59 mark, you'll hear Varric asking about Iron Bull and Dorian. What does “don’t top from the bottom mean?” If it means “subs/bottoms don’t give orders,”  it’s hella rude and it makes me sick. From how he treated my Inquisitor to how he treats Dorian, it’s annoying the hell out of me. Iron Bull, the perma-top, perma-dom? From IB's rather dismissive tone when I said I don't want it every time, to his rather self-centered/contradictory speech on what I need? This aspect of him is totally ruining an otherwise lovable character for me. Domination doesn't need to be extreme with chains, super aggressive and stuff. But I believe it does involve some degree of (consented) humiliation or something of that sort (else it would be dom/sub). But that should only stay in the bedroom. Well, if Dorian is fine with being treated this way, I'm not sure I'm in the position to say otherwise.

While having characters that have preferences regarding being top/bottom/versatile/dom/sub is nice, forcing our characters to either agree with the "terms" or break up over this explicitly permanent role is a huge step backwards. In Origins, the Warden bottoms for Zevran, unless you modded. In DA2, you top Fenris. Can't you leave it up to imagination, or give us options?

I always assumed that Zevran let us do whatever we wanted. Playing a female Warden showed her on top and bottom in Zev's sex scene.

I rivalmanced Fenris, and in that scene you do initiate the first kiss, but I always thought he was the more aggressive one as time went on. That final scene before the boss fight where he kisses you... Mmm-mmm-MMM!

You make a good point about Bull though. As I've stated before, I know very little about relationships that work solely as Dom/sub, but the humiliation thing would totally not work for me. I never considered the romance from that perspective. I never thought of Bull as being disrespectful because he refuses to switch things up precisely because he feels doing so would be disrespectful to what the Inquisitor does. I can understand feeling that way though.

I feel like a lot of issues with Bull would have been avoided if they had made the Dom/sub thing happen because of Bull's preference. Like, if he had had a very troubling and deeply disturbing thing happen to him a long time ago, and being in charge sexually was his way of coping with that. But the way they wrote it, people have serious issues with him just assuming he knows what the Inquisitor needs. I think a lot of annoyance and confusion could have been avoided if he had said instead "It's what I need, and I understand if you're uncomfortable with that, but you needed to know before we get into anything serious."

Although, someone would have probably have still been offended by his lack of flexibility. But it could have been a good solution if they had written it well.

Really? There was only one variation for guys. Perhaps I missed it? But if we talk about cutting costs, of course it'd be cheaper to use the same scene, that I understand. Not too happy though. Still, not a dating sim, but I pretty much take any DA game as one haha.

Sure, a lack of flexibility is... annoying but if that's how he deals with issues, like how he did with the Fade stuff (like you said), I'd respect him enough to stay with him longer. Like you said, wording it the way it currently is? Turns people off. Perhaps we could work something out, or he'll overcome those issues? I don't know. But he's a great character and I'm not sure if this troubling aspect of him adds to that, or diminishes it. As of now, it (with the Dorian part as well) made me resent the character and I don't want to resent IB. I also find it awkward that he acts like nothing happened between us after I broke it off. It could be a resources problem, or it went over the writers' heads but I'd like at least a little dialogue about it. I still haven't finished my first (completionist) playthrough, but I really doubt there's more to it.

May I ask how Dorian's "inquisite me" implied him bottoming in that scene? I'm not too good with innuendos lol.

I thought that Zev's role depended on your race.  I thought he topped elves and bottomed for humans and dwarves.

But, yeah, I find it a little odd that they are defining the LI's sexual preferences (not orientation, preferences) when it comes to actual positioning during sex.

Re: the 'topping from the bottom'.  I haven't done the Bull romance yet, but in the Dorian romance, he gives a little hint to be a bit of a 'bossy bottom' with the Inquisitor.  I wonder if that was intentional to his character and then played through to the Dorian/Bull NPC romance as well.

Given the sexual context of the quote, I took it as an indication that he was the one 'receiving' the "inquistiion".  It's the "inquisite me" (being done to him) aspect that made me think that way.  I could be reading too much into it, but I think others came to the same conclusion.  Given that it's Dorian, who is unapologetically forward, and it's in a sexual context, that's the way it came off to me.  I think of myself (an equally forward and shameless flirt in real life) and I would probably not phrase it that way because it would imply to me that I'm asking someone to top me.

*sigh*

Here we go again. Maybe we should put a disclaimer on the front page warning people about what they are getting themselves into but without spoiling anything for them. It is getting a tad old with the whole misconceptions regarding dom/sub relationships. I understand that it was thrown at the player suddenly but we were hinted at it.

Spoiler

He isn't for everyone since there is 8 options this time around they had the chance to make them more unique. I also don't think Bull or that.....thing broadcasting there sexual preferences is a bad thing. People do it all the time in real life. If you don't like the macho talk from Bull go to someone else. It is like expecting Dorian to not be so defensive when someone brings up his relationship with the Inquisitor (not mine, Never Mine!). Anyway I still think we should consider posting a warning on the OP so people have something to refer to maybe I can dig up some articles that explain the dymanic of these kinds of relationships without going too sexual (that will be hard for me....I said hard lol). When I get off work I'll look into that.

Yet some Cole banter shines light that for the Bull/Inquisitor romance, the Inquisitor is really the one giving the orders while Bull is 'serving' him. It's just my opinion, but I don't really think any hardcore stuff like chains or humiliation is involved.

Spoiler

But that said, I do understand there will be people uncomfortable with it. I do wish there was more flexibility in his romance, but this is the direction they ultimately decided to take it in with him. Bull likes to assign roles to people in the bedroom depending on what he thinks they need based on their role in life. The serving girls are in a position of service within the Inquisition so he feels they need that bit of power in the bedroom, while the Inquisitor is a leader he feels needs to forget that role sometimes. I think it has a lot to do with how he grew up in the Qunari society, personally.

Just completed my game, so I'm going to do another run through, I think I'm going to put the Bull out to pasture and go after either Cassandra, Dorian or Jose.....Oh who am I kidding, I'll properly ride the Bull again and I've just found out he'd like a pink blade because it would be pretty. Lol, I think I've found my 'Alistair' for inquisition.

I really wonder how FPJ kept a straight face, when he was reading all Bull's lines, I'd be on the floor laughing constantly and do at times while I'm playing.

I agree with this. Even if he leaves the Qun, he has a very difficult time adjusting, which shows that he's deeply invested in it. It had/has a huge influence on how he sees the world, so of course it would color his relationships as well. Frankly though, I'm surprised he even has a relationship with the Quizzie. As he says "we don't have sex for love." They don't do romantic relationships normally, so even the fact that he's falling in love with the Inquisitor shows a gigantic change in his way of thought from how the Qun works.

Spoiler

I love Iron Bull. He's wonderful. I'm glad that I've romanced him this time around, and I'm going to do it again in the future. He's nice and caring in the beginning but becomes completely sweet and loving as the relationship progresses. He's a great romance, in my opinion.

I haven't romanced her myself with any Inquisitor, let alone a Qunari, but I'll bet anything she is.

If you're a Qunari, Josephine has a few notably different reactions to you than if you were any other race.  For example, when you first meet her as a human, elf, or dwarf, she greets you pleasantly and then gets straight to business.  If you're a Qunari, however, she reacts like you've just taken her breath away, with her remarking something like, "Wow.  You are...so BIG!"

Don't worry, you're not doing anything wrong, Bull just likes to play hard to get. You might need to take him to the hinterlands and do the horse race if you haven't done it or kill a dragon, the best dragons to kill first time are the loners in basically anywhere that isn't the hinterlands as that one has back up.

Neither have I, I'm still trying to figure out if my qunari shall go to her or Cassandra.

But I think its about maybe the third romance scene with Iron Bull that she has some dialog and reaction that really leaves me to believe she's qunari curious, I did get the 'I wasn't expecting you to be so large' line from her though which only cemented that idea for me.

I will do anything now to get that banter sadly I'm having the banter bug problem so any work around I can try to find to hear this I will! So far I've only gotten one romance banter about The Iron Bull with him and Cassandra asking to barrow her armor for the boss for later. But Gah I need that Cole and Iron Bull banter I need it so badly it fracken hurts.
