Sorry to drag the conversation away from romance and banter I am wondering if I have encountered a bug, have any of you had Iron bull with a -100% magic defense and -67% ranged defense, any magical projectile basically oneshots him I have checked abilities and gear none have penalties?

I think you might have berserk on something. Look & see what you have equipped on the big guy.

yeeeah I had an armor that like tripled my attack power but also tripled enemy attack power for awhile. It was fun, but pretty dangerous. xD Might be the armor.

If I had my way I would be feeling something else from the big guy but despite the slight controversy of his romance I am glad that their are many other bull riders out there.

I got to say if I was any good at drawing I would put to work an idea I had very similar to Chernaya's, just with my Inquisitors in place of the actual characters (I like to pretend that if they all ever met my ladies, Valeria, Maura, and Fenella would make my qunari male Nereus read them stories every night) No matter what characters are being used an idea like that with cuddles is always super adorable imo. You will share the work when your done with it right Chernaya? Pretty please I'd love to see Iron Bull being used as a muscly pillow

Yeah... I can't draw, but I can write very well*. I'll write out a snuggly scene with my Quizzie and Iron Bull that'll paint a thousand pictures... with words.

Here we go again. Maybe we should put a disclaimer on the front page warning people about what they are getting themselves into but without spoiling anything for them. It is getting a tad old with the whole misconceptions regarding dom/sub relationships. I understand that it was thrown at the player suddenly but we were hinted at it.

When you are given an opportunity to start a relationship with Bull he is sitting on your bed, in your room unannounced. He will ask you THREE times if this is what you want with his body language making it very clear that he is in charge (holding your hands above your head, in one hand.......mmmmmmmmm).

Also I recommend checking out his banter with Cole. While in relations with the quizzy Cole states that Bull isn't in control but the quizzy is. The big guy caters to what we want & we control everything. Bull only wants to please the Inquisitor, that is how he gets his pleasure. There are selfless people out there that really enjoy doing that in & out of the bedroom. He wants to be that "Shelter from the storm outside" but he isn't the type to broadcast it. The Iron Bull is the type that likes having the illusion that he is in charge and in control. It goes into the dom/sub thing a bit here, the dom caters to the sub and gives them what they want. In return the sub gives the dom someone to care for, someone that stays with them.

He isn't for everyone since there is 8 options this time around they had the chance to make them more unique. I also don't think Bull or that.....thing broadcasting there sexual preferences is a bad thing. People do it all the time in real life. If you don't like the macho talk from Bull go to someone else. It is like expecting Dorian to not be so defensive when someone brings up his relationship with the Inquisitor (not mine, Never Mine!). Anyway I still think we should consider posting a warning on the OP so people have something to refer to maybe I can dig up some articles that explain the dymanic of these kinds of relationships without going too sexual (that will be hard for me....I said hard lol). When I get off work I'll look into that.

 

I don't really know how to respond to this except to reiterate what I already wrote. Perhaps I should say sorry for bringing this up again, which, thanks to you, I know it's already been discussed previously, but one can't possibly keep up with forum threads such as these.

 

But, to reiterate: I understand what the Iron Bull wants but he's saying being a sub is the only thing that the Inquisitor should need. So what if it's just a role in the bedroom? So what if it's just an illusion? I take issue with his inflexibility, outright saying no to me when I said that's not what I wanted. I take issue with his hypocritical psychoanalysis of my Inquisitor. Obviously this is what he needed, not I. This is, perhaps, a result of his upbringing, but it is the Inquisitor who is catering  to him, not the other way around, if it is going to be long-term. I take issue with his dismissive attitude when I'm trying to discuss my needs. Rather different from "the dom caters to the sub and gives them what they want," isn't it?

 

Sure, he hinted at it. He warned us multiple times but that was the first time. One could say that only applies to the casual sex. If he's gonna be the dom and the top forever and ever and ever, that's something he should have informed us clearly, not needing us to ask him about the precise meaning of his words. The first time? Yummy. Want me to be your sub every single time so that my needs are addressed? No thank you.

 

Can you specifically tell me what my misconceptions are because I can't tell? I guess you have your take on what constitutes dom/sub, and maybe that's the public consensus? But my take on it is that (consensual) humiliation does have an important role in it, from the more mild, meek obedience, to the more hardcore stuff. Anyway, even by your definition, which I understand and is probably what IB wants, that's not what I want. Which brings me back to my second paragraph.

 

Broadcasting their preferences is fine, "I like to dom, ha!" But that was not macho talk. He was being disrespectful towards Dorian. Sure, a lot of the banter consists of them jabbing/poking fun at each other, but I think that crossed the line. Anyway, I did say if Dorian is fine with it, I'd have no say in it. If he did that with me (which he said he wouldn't) well, that's another story. And no, I can't go to someone else since for him to say what he said, I'm already not romancing both IB and Dorian. I couldn't refer to Cole's banter with IB because I didn't go that far with IB, and I have that banter bug.

 

He isn't for everyone. Well, clearly. But I only have 2 options, and IB is one of them. All I'm saying is that it could be done better. I'm hoping I could help with that by expressing my hang-ups with him. But if that's a conversation you're fed up with, well, you could have just ignored me.

So guys... I've thought about it, and I've come up with my headcanon story explaining Herah Adaar's parents Escape From the Qun story!

In my headcanon, her father was a Ben-Hassrath Re-educator, and her mother was a Tamassran Breeder. Her mother was sent to her father to be re-educated because she was not acting "according the Qun". Looking into her case though, her father learned that her mother wasn't being a rebel or trying to sow distension- she had just lost a child and was deeply depressed and mournful with no one to comfort her. As he got to know her he began to realize how harsh the Qun was to anyone who dared to be different, or who was just different naturally. Using some of his contacts, he had the Tamassran sent to a Qunari Colony in Rivani, saying that the change might help her, and followed shortly after under the cover of being on a re-education mission. Once he arrived, the two of them ran off together to the Free Marches, falling in love along the way and founding a secret village community made up of peaceful Tal-Vashoth and outcasts from other societies (Dalish and elven 'outlaws', former Carta members, people who had just had difficult lives and wanted to live like normal people). The two of them at first simply called each other by Kadan, but when they became pregnant with Herah and decided to give her a name, they also decided to take individual names for themselves, with the two of them choosing names for each other rather than picking their own. Her mother's name is Kost, which means peace, and her father was named Taashath, which means calm. Their names were chosen based on what they had most brought to the other's life.

 

I plan to write a story where Herah's parents come to visit, and after pretty much everyone in the Inner Circle expresses curiosity over their story, her parents tell it. Needless to say, Varric is taking many, many notes while they speak.
