That was a beautiful post and I really enjoyed reading it. It pretty much sums up all my opinions and feelings perfectly, and puts them in a much better way than I could because I just get frustrated that people are so unwilling to be reasonable that I give up on them.
Head canon that their first time had training wheels. Bull's character fits it, he would have stopped if the inquisitor said "stop" and he would have probably been checking in the entire time anyways. That's how he works. You can take what you know about the character and apply it and the end result is a pretty good one. An oversight on Bioware's part, but they probably didn't expect people to be so critical of BDSM and kinky relationships that they'd care. Bioware assumed their fans would be as accepting of kinksters as they are everything else. We saw how that worked out. ><
After that? I have to agree about Dorian. His romance with the Inquisitor seems sweet. But a romance with the Inquisitor is something anyone would write home to brag about. Dorian flaunts it because he's shagging the boss. He wants people to be jealous of him and wants to boost his ego, and of course the Inquisitor provides that no problem. How he deals with Bull is much more telling of his character.
I'm still gonna someday romance Dorian and give him a chance though, he is Tevinter through and through. Being an ass is in his blood, lol.
But Bull will always be the one. ♥

now the temptation to write a fic where quizzy pretty much screams in frustration at the constant "Are you sure?" is upon me. But BW fanbase? Accepting? Nevah.
Well Dorian has his good points. He didn't want quizzy's rep dragged through the muck via the rumors so he's not that bad for a Tevinter. But yeah I'm not fond of him on the whole no. Which is weird because I like Vivienne just fine? I dunno. I guess it's because Vivi's not woobiefied by the boards.
I romanced him it was sweet enough (also the booty did glow) but I ended up reloading a five hour old save to romance Josephine (since Bull's was already dead 
) . It left a weird taste in my mouth.

Yes, I listen to their banter and I can just hear the "B-baka! I d-don't actually want you to k-kiss me! *blush*" It's much easier to just accept that Dorian is tsundere and not the far more sinister option that the article brought out, because that really does raise my hackles a surprising amount. Man, to be so protective of a video game character! Feels silly, but I also feel like Bull represents what my very significant other strives to be every day, so I guess I'm just extra protective because of that.

It raised mine too. No one likes being the dirty little secret but yeah I kind of think it's a mix of both. (I half wish it was an option with Dorian to see his reaction to see if he's as hypocritical as I think but alas).
I probably would've just taken the tsun viewpoint if not for that Bull is abusive nonsense. 
That got me sideyeing most of their banter and the one I saw looking bad from that was Dorian. But I was never in support of their romance being healthy. It doesn't seem like it is at all.

Over time, who knows, maybe their relationship would improve and get better. If anyone can smooth out issues and make things work, it's Bull. But Dorian doesn't get that lucky from me, because Bull is MINEEEeeee. ♥

First off, a disclaimer: the following musings are my own and purely about gameplay. I like Bull as a character and others, veeia for instance, are far better at analyzing characters than me.
- Kill those Snowfleurs and Lurkers. Bull has the odd distinction of being both a warrior and glass cannon who gains greatly from being able to dish out critical hits.
Because of this he's better suited to wearing crafted rogue armour and weapons with multiple utility or offense leather slots (Sturdy Prowler Armour being the best in this regard).
Snowfleur skins allow him to wear rogue armour and Lurkers raise Cunning, which indirectly raise critical chance and ranged defence on arm and leg armour pieces.
- Ignore active Two Hander talents. For one, they can only detonate off of Paralyse but the biggest problem is that they aren't worth the stamina cost. Block and Slash however should be upgraded as soon as possible and set to preferred on the tactics menu and make a beeline for Flow of Battle which lowers cooldown times by a second with each critical hit.
- Turn the Blade and Turn the Bolt from the Weapon and Shield tree should help Bull survive a lot longer.
- DO NOT LET AI USE REAVER TALENTS. Much like Knight Enchanter and Assassin, AI sucks at using Reaver talents properly.
- Varric or an Artificer Inquisitor make the perfect partners in crime. I say this in part because I'm biased and my elven bull rider is an Artificer but mostly because they have a passive that raises crit chance as well as access to the best crowd control skill in the game, Elemental Mines (provided you have the right passives, Looked Like It Hurt, Opportunity Knocks and Cheap Shot being the big ones, and good crit chance),
The reason I say it's the best CC skill under those conditions is because they become spammable, have no friendly fire and sunder armour as well as being capable of poisoning enemies if you have Poisoned Weapons.
- Get Combat Roll and set it to preferred.
And once again, another disclaimer: these are things that worked for my Bull riding elf and may or may not work for you but I find that with Bull and Varric things seem to die much faster.

This is something I still find weird and have no answer to tbh. If you look at Bull's model out on the field he's clearly missing a few fingertips on his left hand, there's no doubt about it. So I took this as some lighthearted trolling from the devs. Then again, in some other instances in-game it appears his hands are normal. I just dunno anymore. XD I'm sticking with he is indeed missing some fingers because it's more than just coincidence it happens in the artwork and the game.

I think the wounds still sting from that dorian/bull debate... and some people might still feel a little defensive, but I've seen more Dorian love than hate in here. Heck, we were just talking about his glorious sparkling booty a couple pages back.

That's only if you don't romance either of them..............I hate Dorian......because he tries to steal my man!!! Also I do hate how the AI can't use the reaver tree that well. It is just so annoying!
