Oops, quoted myself. Disregard that.

I saw someone say Ashaad and Seamus were a "couple" of some sort in another thread, but I totally missed that implication every time I played the game, so I don't know. I feel like they needed to make that clearer, if it's true.

The only implication I ever saw was that Seamus was in love with or at least infatuated with Ashaad. We had no reason to believe it was reciprocated.

There was Ginnis' comment as well, where she accuses him of "going even further than that" when Seamus starts cursing at her in Qunlat.

Well that was her taunting assumption "I'd wager you've gone even further than that" she didn't actually see or know anything.

I had always seen Seamus as viewing Ashaad as a mentor and spiritual/philosophical leader. I totally missed the sexual connotations for either of them, I guess.

That seemed to be simply an insult. Even if they did love each other it was asexual

I've had this idea in my head that I want to make into fanart where previous BW protagonists who have died are talking to the (also dead) inquisitor in heaven, each saying how they died

Lady Aeducan: I died killing the Archdemon to save the world from a Blight

Furious Ming: My master betrayed and murdered me

Female Revan: Some crazy guy poisoned me and stole my identity

Male Shepard: Artistic integrity...

Male Inquisitor: I rode the bull

Do it..... then post it.... :)

You're right, that will be interesting to see. Personally, I doubt he equates sex with love/romance, though I think that has much less to do with the Qun and more to do with a general outlook. Not to say he doesn't like sex, because I imagine leaving the Qun would make one ready for a good tumble, but I get the feel that he's of the typical attitude: "It's fun, it feels good, and romance has nothing to do with it." Like Isabela, I guess? As far as the asexual aspect goes, I'd pin that on that demands of the Qun -- sex is about breeding, that's it, and they don't get to pick their partners. Breaking away from it would allow him to change his perspective and act on urges he may have previously had to oppress, right?

I dunno, his described personality makes me think he likes all things good and fun, sex included.

I always thought that they felt sexual desire and attraction, but they were just forbidden from acting on or even acknowledging it.

M. Kirby said once that sexual desire would be an unlikely reason for a qunari to leave. They've got breeding schedule and have a guaranteed sex at least once in year. At least men. And combined with a fact that in qunari culture they simply do not show affection with sex...
Lovers or not, Saemus and Ashaad unlikely had a sexual relationship

Well, know we know why they're so uptight.

Yes, but it does happen though. As aren't those that stray and have sex (for fun) outside of their scheduled breeding sent for re-educating?

So it makes sense that for those who have broken from the Qun wouldn't feel the need to abstain, and would be instead free to express themselves physically.

It is pretty cool IMHO. I only wish Bioware would confirm that qunari do have love affection, just sexless.

IB is a talvashoth, so he probably doesn't mind sexy time

Well, they are living beings so I guess sometimes they do cross the line
Reeducating is a serious business though, so qunari likely are clever enough to realize the risk isn't worth it

I imagine sex in the qun to be a very mechanical, passionless affair. Quick, simple, and for the sole purpose of procreation.

You take someone who's been in a society that has denied them something their whole lives and remove them from that, one of two things happens; either they continue on not indulging because they've never needed to before, or they dive head first into it.

Iron Bull seems to be the type who indulges in every vice and pleasure that the strictness of the qun denied him, so I'm willing to bet he has a very active sex life.

If I'm right on that, it adds another layer to his personal character arch; along with coming to grips with his past and potentially learning to fight for a cause instead of a paycheck, his growth may be about finding a sense of balance in his life.

And learning that it's ok to forge relationships, to fall in love.

Looks like a good idea for some awesome character development plot.
I recall Weeks writing in twitter about searching for sad music about past love or past life when he was writing his character. Possibly IB

I really hope IB is our follower Friday this week. And on that seeing as how Friday is Good Friday will we still get a name.

That would make sense. Though we already know that he is a companion, learning more about his personality and story would be great

No I mean they give us the name of who they are doing for follower Friday on the 3rd Friday of the month, which will be this Friday. And we get the details on that character the following week.
