Yeah I'd imagine so as well. He's still loyal to the Qun, and under the Qun there's no real room for a serious relationship. ;_;

I wonder why? They at least see you if not th entire Inquisition as Basalit-an. You'd think they would stay in contact via The Iron Bull serving as a liaison.

I think he says something on the lines of having no orders for the first time (regardless of your choice, I could be wrong).

Bull would eventually have to go back one way or another. His mission was to join the Inquisition, he carried out the mission. If he hasn't left the Qun then he is still under the Ben-Hassrath. He may not have immediate orders after the Inquisition finishes, but sooner or later the Qun will send him new ones. As Gatt says, they will not discard a useful tool, and Bull is one of their best 'tools.' They wont leave him to rot with the Inquisition once they have a new job for him.

 

Whether or not you could go after him depends a lot on how you want to head-canon it. But if you are playing a mage, there's not a whole lot of hope you would thrive under his society.

 

There's also that constant fear that eventually the Ben Hassrath would get tired of Bull's ...uniqueness, and he would end up re-educated. And they probably wouldn't leave the part that holds sentimental attachment for a lover in tact when they were finished.

 

Overall, I agree with you Ryzaki. **** the Qun. xD

 

(I got the "I don't have orders anymore, I can do whatever I want!" for leaving the chargers alive. I don't know what the Qun ending is, and I'm not sure I'll ever find out because MUH FEELS CANNOT TAKE LOSING THE CHARGERS.)

Yessss. I am all excited now and I don't know if I want to pause playing for a bit to wait for the stupid patch. xD It'll give me good reason to work on the IB fanfic I've been forever staring at but not actually writing.

 

That and I kind of want to start over on my main canon playthrough. Though I still need to finish my rogue Dorian-mance playthrough.

I mean... on my current file I'm working on killing every dragon. Hearing Bull get super excited before each fight never gets old. Also trying to trigger more romance banter but instead Bull and Sera just want to talk about killing stuff and body parts flying everywhere during battle. That works too, though. XD

Finished my Iron Bull romance play though this weekend. When I first started I was meh on Bull but he certainly won me over by the end. He's a big ole softie. I just wish we actually got to see him dance at the winter palace! Some of the cut scene angles were slightly annoying. You don't often see the Inquisitor and Bull together at angles to get a good idea of their portions to each other.

 

So I messed around with flycam some to get l a little bit more useable video footage. Working on an Iron Bull romance video now. Argh want to go home so I can work on it!

Roleplaying question for all you guys and gals.

 

My new playthrough is a female human mage. I'm playing her as being an adventurous soul who is finally free of the circle and loves the enormity of the world around her. As such, I feel like she would be attracted to non-humans as they are foreign concepts to her that she has never experienced before and the intrigue would be alluring to her. This brings me to believe she would be attracted to Bull or Sera.

 

I've heard that you can decide to keep things on a "friends with benefits" term with Bull. My question: is this an irreversible decision (i.e. she wouldn't be able to make him the actual love interest later on) or can we decide to make it serious later? I ask because I imagine her fooling around with both Bull and Sera (their personalities feel the most compatible with her) throughout the course of the game, experimenting and discovering new things. 

 

Did someone already answer this? I apologize if that's the case. In my experience, friends with benefits with IB means that you haven't given him the Kadan necklace. You can break up with him at any time. There's no big discussion afterward, and no reaction if you do it outside a cutscene. You might as well tell him that it's going to be another sunny day. It seems to me that you can only initiate the romance once. So if you break up with him, I think that's it: no more Iron Bull. Though, once you give him the necklace, you're together till the end and can't break up.

 

If you propose a relationship to Sera while dating another, you'll take an affection hit from her. If you press the matter, you'll take another affection hit (I think a bigger one). Sera's no one's second <- she'll tell you that. You might want to break it off with your current LI before you pursue her.

I broke up with Bull to pursue Dorian on this playthrough, and ARGH. :| I wanna beat that man like DONT LET ME GO SO EASILY. ;_; And then you don't get the option to try and re-romance him and you get this really real feeling of ILL NEVER HAVE THE IRON BULL AGAIN. ;_;

 

It makes me sad because I keep swinging by the tavern to talk to him and now I can't kiss him and it makes me realy sad. ._.

 

Dorian's romance is...nice. But it's not...Bull. ;w;

 

That said! They have released patch notes!

 

...and they're fixing the infinite gold/influence exploits that made life so much easier.

I noticed in my play through that I could end things with Bull after giving him the necklace but I couldn't breakup with him after that last sex cut scene (After the Winter Palace).

 

In my play through I didn't start the relationship until after Adamant. I did Adamant, gave him the necklace, winter palace, final sex scene (Couldn't break up after this point).

It's... cute. It's fluffy with a sarcastic edge. Lots of bumps, but overall it's happy.
