I didn't think it would be Sera until after Iron Bull and Solas because of the low female count, too.

Though like I said before, I wouldn't bet against Solas, either. I don't think there's any sense in "they won't do two mages/women in a row" deductions. They'll release the companions in whatever order they feel like, regardless of patterns.

There's probably way less of a system than we'll come up with, honestly. In fact, if there is a system, it might actually have more to do with not releasing story information too soon. For example, if Solas is an ancient elf like some have theorized, there's a chance they wont want to reveal that part of the plot until much later than we'd otherwise expect to see Solas. It's possible they have reasons for holding back character bios that we wouldn't think of without already knowing their bios.

Yeah, I'm banking on the Bull next for the reveals as well.  Here's my crazy logic (is it odd that I think about stuff like this?):

 

* They just did Vivienne (a human female mage, that's important!)

* We know it won't be Cassandra or Varric since they said it will be someone new

* Since Viv is a mage, I think it will be either a rogue or warrior, so I'm ruling out Solas and the 3rd mage (DHMG?)

* Since Viv is one of only a few females, I think they'll spread the ladies out a bit, so I'm ruling out Sera

 

So that only leaves:  The Bull and the mysterious 3rd rogue!  And since they are probably trying to keep some mystery about the companions, they'll want to release someone we already know about.  Therefore, I'm expecting the Iron Bull to be the guy this Friday!

 

That's totally airtight logic, right?

The flip side is that Iron Bull appears in the trailer, and was also prominently featured in the Game Informer article a while back. He was mentioned in the X-box magazine article and at the PAX Panel.

 

Even discounting the survey, Iron Bull has a comparable amount of info on him to Solas.

 

Either way it seems FF will be either IB or Solas.

There's a lot more discussion about Solas, if only because his fans are drooling over MS-Paint drawings of his backside, so I suppose if fan desire factors into their decision, Solas is a front-runner behind Cullen, providing Cullen actually is a follower.

 

Though I doubt that does factor into it at all. If anything, I'd expect they'd hold back the ones they think we want to see the most.

Hey, if you guys want to check out Solas' MS-Paint ass, go right ahead. I'm certainly not judging.

 

I'm just saying that it has contributed in no small part to the length of the Solas thread, is all.

It's harmless, and at times entertaining, though. We've all got pretty much nothing to go on, save the Varric folks. We think of ridiculous names for our thread and try to extrapolate, the Solas people mouse-draw butts! Equal in our current misery, I'd say. Personally, I wish I knew how to mouse-draw butts.

I don't really have any interest in Solas as an LI, but the theories floating around about him have actually gotten me pretty interested in his character. It's not like all the posts over there are just about his ass.

 

There's a decent amount of talk over here about bull riding, just saying.

I'm still mostly neutral on Solas. I see some potential there, but he doesn't engage me the way Iron Bull, Cassandra, and Beard Warden do.

 

I'm also not sure where they's theories of him being an ancient elf are coming from, beyond the wild imaginings of fans.

See, to me, Cassandra is one of the least interesting so far, because I don't really see her having much to add to the lore that we don't know already. Everyone has different things they look for, though. 

 

I am really interested in seeing Iron Bull's perspective as a Tal-Voshoth. He's definitely up there, for me. Cole (if he's in), Solas, DHMG (if he's Dorian), Iron Bull and the warden are all character that I feel have very new perspectives to add.

I think you'll find everyone who regulary participates in the Solas thread is well aware that we know nothing about him and knows our speculations and MS paint drawings are all in good fun. This thread could certainly use some MS paint pictures of Bull though.

 

On a more serious note, we haven't really seen any concrete renditions of qunari in game models, so I'd be surprised if Bull was next.

Hmm to me it sounds a lil too old for him...not sure if old is the word I'm looking for ....old braggart? lol but I guess we all kind of have our own ideas of what he may be like since we don't really have a lot to go on
