I think if I play a warrior someday though it'll be reaver, once I try Iron Bull's 2h reaver tanking we'll see how that plan actually pans out.

 

Sometimes I hate my life, I get home from work, have to be social, want to write, want to play video games, need to spend time with Hubby. I have too many things to do! All I want to do is write Iron Bull pron and play Iron Bull: The Video Game.

Just thought I'd post a bit of the stuff I'm working on. Primarily, it'll be my Gale Trevelyan pictured here:

with Bull. He's a Knight Enchanter. Basically it'll be a hurt/comfort sort of thing.

The rain echoed through the night, casting the sky in a dim and ghastly grey sky. The Emerald Graves had never seemed so otherworldly, and yet Gale could do nothing but stare at the woods outside of his tent. He had kept a small lantern lit, for he could not seem to fall asleep tonight. The man listened to the sounds of the night, just losing himself in it all. Soon, he noticed a large, lumbering figure quietly exit one tent and swiftly cross the rain to join Gale in his own. With a negligent hand wave, Gale vaporized the water in Iron Bull’s clothing, leaving the Qunari warm and tingly from the magic.
For what seemed like hours, Iron Bull sat next to Gale, quiet, passive, listening, and waiting, watching the sky weep its despair.

The sky was a bright blue, the clouds just barely containing the sun’s rays. But contrasting the beautiful day were the harsh claps of thunder and blazes of fire that echoed below. The forest withered under the arcane onslaught. Demons were pouring from a rift between the trees, surprising the men and women who had camped nearby.

Gale had rushed forth, armed only with his two hands, unable to find his staff. But he feared not, for a Knight Enchanter was never without weapons. While Cassandra rallied the rest of their group, the blonde mage stood before the oncoming horde, calm and solid. In his right hand blazed a golden blade of radiant light that held an insatiable hunger for demonic flesh. And in his left burned an azure aura of terrible power that froze the surrounding air with the crackle of a breaking glacier. With a deafening roar, the man threw himself forward, and began to sow arcane ruin and death upon his enemy.

Bull slowly waded his way through the demons, smashing, slicing, and rending as he progressed. His eye frequently flicked to Gale, watching the man gracefully wield his magic, golden sword carving a web of deadly light against the encroaching enemy. At the mage’s feet, ice wreathed the ground, quickly forming glacial spears whenever an enemy gained too much proximity. And through it all, Gale had never once faltered or slowed, a radiant mountain outlasting the demonic storm. Bull could hardly keep his gaze upon his own demons, for the beatific look on the mage’s face was utterly enthralling as he lost in himself in the song of battle.
 

And soon, the Qunari found himself allowed to enter the web of light. The two fought back to back, flowing together like water. Moving as one, the pair let the moment overtake them, letting the music of life and death fill ever fiber of their being. When Gale struck low with his blade, Bull came from on high and demolished what remained. As the fighting seemed to die down, Gale made his way over to the rift and poured forth power from his mark, sealing the hole in the Veil. But as he did so, he faintly heard Bull shout from behind him. As the mage turned to see what was amiss, he was hit by something that launched him into the nearest tree trunk with bone-crushing force.
 

Bull had only been able to roar a sudden warning when he saw the fear demon materialize from shadow and launch a ball of fell light towards Gale. And then the Qunari was running. Thought was defied by an all consuming anger, only to be sated as the demonic head tumbled from the spider like creature’s shoulders. A desperate scream brought him back to reality. Gale was curled against the tree, screaming as if he were in great pain. Yelling for Cassandra, the Qunari raced to the mage’s side, only to be thrown backwards by a blast of unseen force. He shakily got to his feet to see the mage holding his head desperately while raw magic leaked into the air, entirely untamed. Bull abruptly realized that the magic was instinctively protecting its wielder from perceived harm. The blue magic crackled and snapped as sparks filled the air, like lightning waiting to strike.
 

Each miserable scream struck at the giant’s heart, and yet he could do nothing to break the barrier. Bull looked up to see Cassandra sprint past him, sword brandished before her. A faint glow surrounded her as she pushed through. And with a sound like discordant bells, the magic was dispelled. But despite her efforts, the Seeker’s power could not seem to halt whatever was tormenting Gale, for the blond man still writhed in terrible pain, eyes streaming with tears. Cassandra reached the mage first, trying to halt his movement lest he hurt himself even more. By the time Gale’s elbow had clipped her chin, Bull had arrived and managed to restrain Gale and try to calm him down.
 

The mage’s eyes were open wide, but unseeing, locked in some nightmarish dream. Tears weeped from the cerulean eyes, eyes filled with unspeakable pain. The screaming had begun to dwindle down to quiet moaning and begging to “please stop.” Bull could do nothing but hold on tight as Solas came to rest his hands on the man’s head and mutter spells under his breath. After a solid ten minutes of chanting, Gale fell into a deep sleep born of exhaustion, pained cries finally ceasing. It was over.

I know the feeling. Between work, school & this damn thing called a social life (it can go to the void for all I care but that is probably the introvert in me talking lol) I haven't had alot of free time. Funny that while I was posting this my boss asked me if I wanted to go home early. Looks like I might be able to enjoy some quality bull riding time!

Initiating Iron Bull's romance is proving harder than I thought.

His disposition is high enough to have him end dialogue with "Nice seeing you boss" and it's been raised a few more times.

But even so, the Demands of the Qun quest still isn't available.

Double post but I figured I'd reply after reading the snippet. First off thank the blessed Andraste that Bull didn't die. I'm so not ready for something like that. I enjoyed the battle scene (even if you pansy mages lack martial prowess of any kind lol) the graceful fighting style in contrast to Bull's savage style, like yin & yang in a way. I will be honest the fear demon's mental attack (?) on Gale did leave me a tad confused but the snippet was a flashback so it's all good. As long as the big guy stays ALIVE I'll gladly read it. If not then you will have to lie to me otherwise I don't see myself doing it on my own.

It's good! I look forward to reading it when it's done! :3 I know what it's like to struggle through stuff, but it's worth it when you're all done and have something satisfying to look over!

If you haven't already, take Bull to the Hinterlands when you do quests throughout there. He approves basically every time you help someone, when you race horses he approves a ton too. If you've already finished Hinterlands, you can go to the Western Approach and stuff, every Venatori you kill there gives some approval with him as well.

 

Demand of the Qun kicks in after Skyhold, so if you're still in haven it wont trigger. If you've done all that...then I don't know. :S I have never had issues with Bull's approval, though I know others have.

Yeah, Dragons are a great way to gain approval with Bull. If you aren't romancing him and just want the Qun quest to proc, then definitely kill a few dragons and you'll be good. At level 12 you should be able to kill the one in Crestwood as well as the one in Hinterlands, maybe the one in Western Approach too.

 

If you're romancing Bull, you miss out on some fun flirts during the dragon-celebration scene if you aren't romancing him for it.

Excccellllent! Well you can flirt with him after you kill the dragon, I don't know if he'll comment on your assets or not if you haven't started a relationship with him or not though, so if you want that bit of dialogue I'd say try killing off a bunch of venatori first. :3
