Oh, I really like that!
I need to listen to more Iron Bull party banter. Hnnngh. ♥

Yeeeup, I've been listening to that exact video at work, it's amazing. Listening him chat with some of the characters I never would of had in my party otherwise is amazing. Vivienne's convos with him answered a ton of my musings on how he would view mages/saarebas, made me all happy and fuzzy inside while I ran to write things. ♥ (While at work. I'm a pretty terrible person.)
Yeah, the way they played out Demands of the Qun kind of belayed the fact that Bioware was stretched for resources and could only give personal quests so much attention etc. They could have done a lot more with that quest and still not covered all the stuff that's going on there.
At least the banter that the party members get for Bull after the quests are very satisfying, even if I wish the Inquisitor could spend a lot more time on the subject to try and help Iron Bull through it.
It's weird because other party members act like it was his choice. I headcanon that maybe he just needed to know the quizzy had his back for whatever he decided. But yeah, should have been his decision.
He seems much happier in the long run if he leaves. I've never had him stay, but I saw it on YouTube. That was bad enough.
I think he does. The best thing to do is go through the banter with the other companions and talk to him.
Basically, if you kill the chargers he is giving up his sense of self. He gaining identity as the Iron Bull, he was falling in love with his role. If you turn him back to the Qun, he basically gives up on that identity entirely. I don't like the Qun enough to give them back Iron Bull.
Cole's pickings from Iron Bull are pretty telling though. "Salt-spray smell of Seheron. Lost in smoke from a burning ship. Guilt at not feeling guiltier."
Guilt at not feeling guiltier.
Bull's heart isn't with the Qun anymore. They have his fear of turning into mindless angry tal-vashoth over him, but that's his biggest issue. If fear is all they have on him, I would feel terrible pushing him back to the Qun instead of pulling him out of it and giving him a chance to choose his own life.
Vs.
(if the Inquisitor is Qunari)
Not to mention the impact it has on the relationship with him if you don't break him from the Qun first. >_> I just couldn't do it.
If the Inquisitor is qunari, then Solas says: "No more than our Inquisitor, who's parents left the Qun before s/he was born." Otherwise you skip to the next line.
Sorry, copy pasted directly out of the transcript. >.>
Solas and Iron Bull have some pretty intense conversations, especially once the Qun gets dragged into it.
I just can't help but shake the feel that Solas is absolutely right if you keep Bull with the Qun.
Besides, if he manages to retain anything that makes him special, the first time he gets called back to Par Vollen, he's probably going to be forced to make a nice long stop with the re-educators before they do anything more with him. =/ Which means if he left a romanced Inquisitor back in Skyhold with promises of coming back? ...Yeaaaaaah.
You give Iron Bull to the Qun, that is what will have his heart, not you. Whether he prefers that or not, such is the nature of the Qun.
I've wondered if the Qun is actually going to let him go? Despite Bull's assurances, I have doubts. Based on the things you can read in the game, and Bull's own job description, it just doesn't seem like it would be that easy.
Yeah, which is why it doesn't make sense that Bull seems so confident it's over. FFS, he was one of the people sent to track them down.

I don't think Bull expects an easy ride breaking from the Qun. I think he's prepared to deal with the consequences though. But I think that it's quite possible that there's a few people still in the Ben-Hassrath that are throwing some wrenches into it. Bull was one of their best guys. He had a lot of loyalties built up. He said the first assassins sent after him were more or less just a formality, so that tells you that he's got some people looking out for him.
Besides, Bull is surrounded by people who are going to protect him. He's got the Chargers, the Inquisitor, etc. I feel sorry for anyone who gets sent on the assignment to try and kill him. >:3 And the Ben-Hassrath probably know this, and would rather not basically suicide their guys for no reason haha.
True. My quizzy would bring the full might of the inquisition down on anyone that tried. She's normally pretty lenient in judgements (except for that guy that basically dares you to execute him), but I imagine she'd get quite creative if someone messed with her man.
Not that Bull can't hold his own, but it's the principle.

Yeah. And when you think about it, the Qun's presence in Thedas is more or less just monitoring. They don't have a whole lot of military strength. They have their sneaky scouts and their sneaky assassins sure, but you're not going to bring Iron Bull down, even alone, with either. You'd need to send a pretty pointed military force, and that's where things get really dangerous real fast.
I don't think it's worth it, when they can just cut their losses and wipe their hands clean of it. I'm not suggesting that the Inquisition could take on Par Vollen, but...The Qunari making an attack that can actually be proven as a military assault? That's a really great way to ****** off some very powerful people in a real hurry. >.>
Yeah I don't think they're ready for an exalted march and Tevinter pounding at them. Bull's not worth the headache easier to just let him go.
Alright, you've convinced me. But I still wouldn't mind a scenario where Bull gets attacked by assassins or something and the inquisitor gets hurt defending him. Would love to see his reaction to that.
...I swear it didn't sound that dumb before I typed it out... ![]()
This is what fanfiction is for! >:3

Adding to my queue of stories.
Ugh at this moment I wish Bull's alcohol was real....I have a blasted winter cold and I need something that burns my throat to the point of where my nose, ears, and throat is no longer plugged up. ![]()
